Charlotte's life had hit a rather obtrusive snag, she had broken up with her boyfriend shortly after the party they had hosted together at her house, it was to the dismay of her parents but it had felt freeing. She no longer had this cloud that lingered in her mind whenever she was with him, or thought about their life together. It had been that party that had brought her to the realisation of why, why as much as he had been great, why she hadn't really loved him. She loved someone else. It just so happened that following all of that, the man she was in love with didn't seem to want anything to do with her. Of course at first she had avoided him a little too. Not yet confident in her feelings and dealing with a break up to want to talk to him, however, she blamed herself for what had happened following it, the break down in communication between them had played so heavily on her mind but she hadn't felt confident enough to face it or him, which had brought her life, her personal life to a stop. Instead of facing it she buried herself in her work, in her family until she had run into him.

Seeing Sam at the Gladrag's fashion show had not been a fun experience, she had felt instantly ill-at-ease. Unsure of how to move forward, how to address the empty space between them now, despite how she truly felt about him, because what if he no longer felt that back? What if he had moved on? What was she to do then? The woman had tried to talk to him at the end, but had been shut down. He'd walked out without a word, and in the height of her emotions she had spoken to Jon about it. They had once been far closer friends, she had been so much more keen to talk to him than Sam at one point but with few other friends to turn to that had been her only viable option, it had been the only option she could think where she might be able to get some of her emotions out. Just some thoughts and feelings that had been eating away at her. She hadn't expect Jon to send her a letter so soon after she'd done that asking her to meet with him. She'd thought it would take some time before he was willing to meet with her after all she had said, but apparently not. The blonde woman walked down the street until she spotted the house she needed, careful of her steps as she walked across the pavement to it in her heels, Charlotte knocked on the door and waited for Jon to answer and to invite her in. She was excited to see him again, happy for the company he was opting to provide for her.
