Adulting is Hard

Chloe Zhefarovich looked forward to graduation and being an adult, only it was much harder than it appeared. She was lucky enough to score a spot as an alternate on a local Quidditch team, but she needed to work up to be a professional since she never played in school. She just assumed with her good grades and her flawless looks, she would be pampered. Her mother told her straight on how it was, and Chloe needed a job. So, she found one since her talents as part of the Baros’ family regarded Quidditch. Chloe decided that as a keeper, she might be safer from death, which her father learned that the hard way, among other deaths within the family that involved Quidditch. Chloe sighed, but she managed to find a small restaurant after practice, which included her just stopping a handful of quaffles. She did decently, and had some smears of dirt across her face. She had her blonde hair tied in a ponytail as she settled down at a table. This did not seem too bad. Earning her own money and stuff. She felt like she was actually on her own. Her mom, no longer working at the school in New Zealand, focused on fashion. Chloe felt none of that. Fashion was nice and all, but she had yet to find her passion.

Chloe asked for a regular soda, since she did not want anything with alcohol in it just yet. It was not even five. Well, it was somewhere, but not where she was at. She was used to being on another time zone as well, so sitting in Europe, where most of her family was born, she felt so out of place. Chloe sighed as received her soda. She smiled at the waiter and sipped it. She did not know what she wanted to eat, but here in London, it seemed to be apparent that chips equaled fries in her homeland. At least she was learning new things while visiting with people. She wouldn’t need to be back in the states for another week. Traveling to other countries seemed easy for the witch.

Kaz knew all the bars on the strip, he was a professional alcohol consumer, so he knew all the best places to go for a quick drink, as it was, he was on his way to a wedding that actually didn't start for another two hours, so he had some time to kill. Ducking into a little place he knew, Kaz walked uptown the server and order his usual before leaning against the counter and surveying the people. He was a people watcher, a people pleaser, a people person. He just loved being around people and so the fact that his job entailed people, well, all the better for him really. The server tapped him on the shoulder and he took his drink and sipped it slowly. Ah, the best wine in the house easily. He chatted quietly with the server before his eyes settled on a blonde not too far away. She looked out of place somehow, lost almost. It was pretty clear she wasn't a local, but then, neither was he.

Huffing to himself, Kaz stepped over to her and took a seat across from her. "Hope you don't mind, everywhere else is full." A quick look around would prove that wasn't true, but he wasn't really bothered if she pointed it out. He didn't know this woman, and if he didn't know someone, he wanted to and he was great at breaking the ice. Talking to people was his job, he did it well. He placed his wine glass on the table and grinned. "Business or pleasure?"

Chloe wished that she could have just wiped the dirt from her face before she came here. She felt so dirty and low, but that was part of the journey. She had to work her way up to the ladder. She would find her place, soon. Chloe jumped a tad bit in surprise when a man came over and seated in front of her. She relaxed a little bit, since she realized that she was not in America. The men seemed to be nicer here, at least, to her. Chloe cleared her throat but shook her head at the mention of her minding. She looked around to see that it was not exactly true. Chloe wanted to point it out, but she didn’t, since she felt that it was a nice gesture. Knowing her, she probably looked like a lost puppy, needing their master. Not exactly the case with Chloe. In school, everything came easy to her, but ever since she left, reality was, she didn’t get everything she wanted. “Um, both actually. Just finished my Quidditch practice. I’m a keeper and still get a little dirty,” Chloe answered while also telling a complete stranger what she did. “I’m Chloe Zhefarovich, by the way.” The blonde smiled, wondering if her last name was familiar in these parts or not.
