A walk outside

Kari smiled. "They're hanging out on Pluto with the little purple men."
 
Sarah laughed, her face stretching into a very wide smile. "You are so goofy!" She said pushing him gently, in a playful fashion.
 
Kari smirked when she pushed him. "Yeah. I suppose, But I thought women were suppose to like funny guys like me."
 
"Well maybe i do, Blondie, and, maybe i don't" She walked a bit ahead of him and turned around, walking backwards. "But you'll never know!"
 
Kari laughed softly to himself. Her cheerfulness was very refreshing. Ever since he had heard about his beloved Liz, his out look on life has been very dark. A small smile he said, "It'd be nice. I tend to not have any luck in the woman department."
 
"Well i can't believe that!" She said in honesty. She didn't know what it was, but something drew her toward Kari. "Well you are quite cute. I must admit to that." Not looking where she was going, she fell backwards and started laughing.
 
Kari smiled when she called him cute. At least he didn't have to worry about that, but he did seem to have increasing bad luck with women. It mad it hard for him to even want to date. This latest tragedy broke his heart. He was still picking up the shattered pieces.

Out of the corner of his eye he saw Sarah fall backwards. Even though she started laughing Kari couldn't help but think that his bad luck was starting again. He started to feel very uncomfortable. He stretched out his hand to help her up, "Nothin' broken?" His accent messing with he words again.
 
"Nope, nothing is broke." She took his hand and pulled on it to get up, hoping he could handle her weight (not that she weighed much).
 
With out effort Kari hefted her to her feet. With a smile he continued walking.
 
She put her hands behind her back and kept walking along. "So Kari, what do you do for a living?" She asked.
 
"Odds and ends jobs for anyone that needs anything done. I suppose you can call me a handy man." Kari frowned. "I work what ever I can to support my little sister."
 
"Aww that's so sweet. A guy who could do that for his sister is a true man in my opinion." She said. There were few men like that, kind and gerous. This guy seemed flawless.
 
Kari shrugged. "We are all we have. Her father and my step~mom died in a car crash three days after my 18th birthday. I've been raising Kala since she was three." He looked to the ground. "She can't even remember them really. Just little odds and ends."
 
Sarah pouted a bit. "I know what you feel like." She muttered. She felt so compelled by this, that she just gave him a hug.
 
Kari was surprised by the hug but found himself embracing her back. The comfort felt good after so many hard times. "Thank you."
 
She looked up at him. "No problem. I know that sometimes, all you need is a hug." Sarah had known that for a while, but this was one of the few times she had actually embraced someone. She pulled away from him smiling. "You're so cool, Kari!"
 
He felt his face light up with joy. "You're pretty cool yourself Sarah. Maybe sometime you'd like with me for some coffee? or Chocolate milk if you don't like coffee." He smiled and winked. "I drink the chocolate milk."
 
She smiled at him and nodded vigorously, until she became dizzy. She let her head sway a bit. "Yeah that sounds nice." She smiled even more and looked at her cellphone, forgetting that electronics didn't work in magical places. "D*mn it," she muttered.
 
"Sucks eggs!" She said pouting more. she wondered where Angela was. She had left really early that morning. "So um... blah." Sarah couldn't think of anyhting to say really.
 
Kari laughed to himself. "I know your not suppose to ask women this but I'm curious. How old are you?"
 
She smiled. "No problem, i am..." She pretended to count on her fingers. "21! What about you?"
 
"Really, i thought you were like, 17!" She said. "Well what ever. Age is just a number. And i don't see how it can make you old, when numbers themselves are old. So we should all be old, right?" she said in one breath, taking a deep breath at the end.
