Sybil had been eager to write home to her father but she had found it hard to find the time. Lessons were taking up quite a bit of her time and she was still busy settling in. She had hoped Hogwarts would feel like home right away but somethings just had to take their time. At least the weather was nice today as she took a seat in the courtyard and got out some parchment for her letter. She had just gotten out her pen to write with as a gust of wind surprised her and took her pages with it. "No!" she shouted and quickly scrambled to collect them all before they got too far or damaged.

Vikram had decided to take a walk through the grounds, exploring outside of the castle and seeing more of where he'd be essentially living for the next seven years. He was quietly impressed, and found several places where he'd like to spend some more time. Humming to himself, Vikram was walking back into the courtyard, hands folded behind his back, when a loud exclamation drew his attention. He turned, and seeing a girl in Winnie's dorm chasing some pages, he strode over quickly, dropping to one knee and helping her to gather her pages. Once he was sure they'd all been collected, he lifted his gaze to her. A small smile on his lips, he held them out like an offering. "I believe these are yours, Sybil."

Sybil could feel her face flushing as she hurried to keep the spectacle she was making to a minimum. But she felt even more embarrassed when someone knelt down to help her. "You don't have to do that!" she said quickly but by then he was already handing them to her. She sighed and looked up and recognized the boy from her lessons. She was a little surprised he knew her name. "Yes, they are." she said with a deep breath. "You're Vikram right?" she asked, just to make sure.

Vikram chuckled, making sure all her papers were gathered, before standing himself and offering to help her up. "Yes, my name is Vikram," He confirmed. "Are you alright?" He asked, wanting to be sure it had been the wind and not her having tripped or something similar.

Sybil smiled shyly when he confirmed she had gotten his name right. She had made a point to know most of her classmates names but she wasn't how most people would react to her just knowing their name so she tried to make it a little more conversational. "Nice to officially meet you." she said with a small laugh. She wished her introduction could have been more graceful but there was nothing she could do about it now. She waved off his concern when he asked if she was alright. "Oh I'm fine. Just embarrassed and a little worried I ruined some of my parchment." she admitted. "I was trying to write my father but it seems like the wind had other plans for me. Some times I feel like it's hard to find a good quiet place to think, well besides the library of course. But I think I spend too much time there already so I was trying to find somewhere new. But maybe I need to keep looking." She knew she was rambling so she forced her self to pause and take a breath to see if Vikram had anything to say.

Vikram chuckled, taking a step back and motioning for her to walk with him. "Have you thought about the gardens?" He asked, folding his arms behind him. "I found quite a lovely spot there, if you'd like me to show you," He offered, thinking it only the gentlemanly thing to do. And it would always do well for him to make new friends. "Do you mind the outdoors, or would you prefer somewhere inside?"
