Estella was a little disappointed with Valentine's Day this year. There were no roses for her to deliver, which made the whole day less exciting. She wanted to look good for the Valentine's Dance however, and so dressed up in a pink dress with red roses, which would hopefully make up for not being able to deliver them. Another thing that was letting her down a little was that she still didn't have a date, even when she wasn't busy with delivering roses. She couldn't help but be a little shy however. Boys were just very hard to ask on a date, and no one had taught her yet how to get around them. Estella tried her best to keep on a smile as she entered the Great Hall in her dress. The high heels helped her feel taller and more confident. She smiled around at some faces as she entered, making her way to the drinks table to get herself a glass of pumpkin juice before she tried finding some friends.

Ivy had almost decided against going to the dance. At the Yule Ball she'd had a great time with Sawyer, and it was kind of painful to think of that now. But she also didn't want to let him scare her away, especially since Brooke was likely to make some sort of comment about that. Ivy headed into the Great Hall on her own, scanning the crowd. Brooke was with Hester, for some reason, and Ivy didn't spot Delilah anywhere yet. She sighed, then headed to the nearest drink table. She grabbed a glass of pumpkin juice, only to then notice someone else was reaching for it too. Ivy gave an apologetic smile, "sorry." She said, but her smile faded when she saw who it was. "Oh. Hi." She said. Estella was one of her classmates, but not someone she especially got along with. She always got the feeling the Hufflepuff didn't care for her much, and honestly, the feeling was mutual. It wasn't that she disliked her, but she just seemed like a completely different person than Ivy was. A typical Hufflepuff, really.

As Estella saw another hand reaching for the same glass of pumpkin juice, she quickly pulled it away. "Oh, that's okay!" she said with a smile as they apologised. Her smile quickly faltered however as she looked up to see who it was. She knew Ivy was popular among their year group, and was very opinionated. For some reason it really bothered Essie that Sawyer went with her to the Yule Ball. There would have been plenty of other better people her friend could have done that with. The Hufflepuff had been avoiding the Gryffindor during their whole time at Hogwarts, and now they were facing each other. Estella reached again for the glass of pumpkin juice, quickly taking it and claiming it as hers. "Hi." she said simply, quickly looking around to see if she knew anyone to walk up to and start a conversation with. It would definitely help avoid the awkward situation.

Ivy gave Estella a bit of an awkward smile, not missing how the girl immediately looked around for someone else to talk to. She knew the two of them weren't really friends, and likely wouldn't ever be. But she suddenly remembered that Estella was friends with Sawyer. After everything that happened, Ivy felt like she had to say something. Sawyer had made her feel so crappy with his stupid lie, and she hated the thought of him doing that to another girl. She took a deep breath. "You know Sawyer, right?" She asked Estella hesitantly. "I'd be careful with him."

Estella was just about to pretend she found someone she knew and walk away when Ivy spoke again. The Hufflepuff couldn't help but feel her anger boil when it was about Sawyer. She didn't like anyone speaking bad about her friends, especially when they weren't there to hear it themselves. She would definitely be telling Sawyer about this the next time she saw him. It just made Ivy even more unlikeable. "Sawyer is a good friend!" she snapped. "If you're looking to talk bad about him then I suggest you look elsewhere."
