Sunny left the Slytherin common room perfectly on time for prefect patrol which also happened to be almost twenty minutes after she'd actually agreed to meet Cyrus. She liked making it a little later each night, sometimes earlier, just to keep Cyrus guessing about when she might show up but this was the latest she had ever been. On her way she caught her reflection in a suit of armour and slowed to check her hair was still nice. That wa nother minute lost, but she didn’t mind at all. She didn't think Cyrus would mind either. When she finally made it to the entrance hall she found him pretty quick, “Cyrus,” she called with amusement. “I hope you haven’t been waiting too long, you poor thing.”

@Cyrus Thorne

Cyrus wrapped his arms more tightly around himself as he waited by the drafty door of the castle. The entrance hall was quiet and spooky this late at night, and Cyrus had already jumped at a shadow a couple of times. He glanced again at his watch, though only a minute had gone by since he'd last looked. He kept hoping Sunny would appear, but the girl was nowhere to be seen. Cyrus had been started partrols with Sunny with much enthusiasm, as he was happy to spend any time with her, but she had been late to the last few patrols. It was a mildly annoying habit he'd been happy to ignore, but she had never been this late. If they wanted to do their patrol properly now, they'd be up way past Cyrus' planned bedtime. He already dreaded heading to class the next morning.

When Sunny appeared, Cyrus felt immediate relief. Relief that was quickly followed by annoyance, a surprising sensation. It would have been one thing if Sunny had come running up, apologizing for being so late. But the way she strolled in made him wonder if she had even noticed how late she was. But surely she had. He gave an awkward smile at her words and glanced at his watch. "Well, about twenty minutes." He said. "As it's, uh, twenty minutes past our starting time." There was perhaps a slight edge to his voice. "We should hurry, I have class early tomorrow." He added, gesturing for them to start walking. "Maybe we can split up at a few points? It'd be more efficient."

Sunny frowned with disbelief like the suggestion that she was twenty minutes late was absolutely absurd, also annoyed that he hadn't commented on how nice she looked after making sure her hair was perfect this evening. “I am sure I said to meet at this time" she insisted, mildly offended that Cyrus would consider to blame her for his mistake. “Oh Cyrus, I think you’re mixing things up again. You really need to start writing these things down.” Sunny did not like his idea of splitting up either. She would have to work harder on patrol if Cyrus wasn't there to do most of it and besides she found the castle creepy at this hour and she didn't want to be alone at any of the points. “Split up?” she repeated, thinking the suggestion were thoughtless rather than efficient. “You know I hate being on my own after dark. It gives me the creeps, even walking from the dungeons to here frightens me. It'd be too scary to do any more all alone.” She started to sound like she was becoming emotional, “Besides, if word got to the head boy and girl that I’d been abandoned on patrol, well, they’d be worried about you Cyrus. They’d think you weren’t taking your responsibilities seriously.” She shrugged and thought she was looking out for his reputation before anything else.
