After the match, April had immediately left the field. She was tired, sore, annoyed, and disappointed in herself. When she had first started as seeker, she had done really well in the position. But the last few years hadn't been great, and she was upset about it. What was she doing wrong? Now she would have to deal with Syrus, who would definitely shove his victory in her face. And worse, she had disappointed Austin and her entire house. Too sad to be anywhere near other Hufflepuffs, April had looked for a place to be alone for a little bit. She was still in her Quidditch robes as she entered the antiquated lavatory. It wasn't the best place, but it would certainly be quiet. Sulking, she leaned against one of the walls, annoyed and frustrated with the day's events.

Even though his own house had won, Kauri hadn't been able to bring himself to be happy once the Quidditch match was over. He could see how upset April was, and his heart hurt for her. He had tried to keep an eye on her when she left the pitch to comfort her, but quickly lost track of April in the crowd. There were only a few places in the school he knew she might be if she was upset, and if she had hidden away in her dorm there was nothing he could do, but Kauri wanted to check a few places first. After checking a few convenient closets and bathrooms he made his way upstairs, pausing when he heard movement inside a bathroom he thought was abandoned. Hesitating, Kauri knocked on the door before testing it. "April?" He questioned as he entered, eyes widening when he saw her. "Hey! You were fantastic today... I'm really sorry." Kauri said softly, approaching her.

Daphne didn’t care for quidditch. The idea that bits of a tree would actually float around in the air was ridiculous, not to mention dangerous. The sixth year had grown used to a few things around the school, but one of them was that during matches she was usually free to roam wherever she wanted without being interrupted. Most students and professors seemed busy with the games but Daphne kept well away.
She’d had spent the last hour trying on various dresses that her dad had sent her, admiring herself in the mirror for hours, unaware she was missing out on her time at the match. By the time she did, she’d grabbed her make up and strode down to the lavatories. She’d learnt years ago the lighting was perfect in here for practising her eye shadows, and she wanted to try out some new looks. What the gryffindor hadn’t counted on though was that the match was already over. She stopped dead in the doorway as she realised two students in her year were already in the room. “Oh..sorry” she mumbled, debating whether to stay or just leave the couple to it.

When the door opened, April winced initially. She wanted to be alone, not be interrupted. But when she saw who it was, she felt relieved. If there was anyone she didn't mind seeing right now, it was Kauri. Even Norton wouldn't be as good, because he was on the Hufflepuff team and one of the many people April had disappointed today. Kauri was here for her, and that was what she needed right now. "I clearly wasn't fantastic." She said with a sigh as he approached. "I... I failed." Her voice got quiet as she said it. Then a girl appeared, and April's irritation spiked. Why couldn't she be alone with her best friend for a little while? The girl was a Gryffindor in their year, and April was fairly sure her name was Daphne. But that didn't matter. "Occupied." She said, unusually grumpy. "We're talking here." She didn't care if she was being rude.

Kauri's heart sank at the hurt in April's voice, and he reached out, rubbing her shoulder reassuringly. "You still pla-" He was interrupted by the door opening, looking over quickly in surprise. Kauri didn't think anyone ever used this bathroom, and he felt a rush of protective feelings, not wanting April to have other people gawking at her while she was this upset. Before he could speak though, April had responded, her tone ruder than Kauri liked, though she was upset enough that he didn't really want to call her up on it. Instead he addressed the girl in a softer tone. "Sorry, we're having a private conversation." He said gently. "We can go somewhere else if you need the bathroom..." He added, though Kauri wasn't entirely sure if the loos here even worked.

Neither seemed impressed she’d turned up, which was rude considering there were no rules saying she couldn’t be there. Daphne only wanted to use the mirrors but according to the girl she needed to leave. She would have been rude back but Kauri at least offered to move. She rolled her eyes, once again irritated with the kids in this school. Gosh, she could wait to leave. “No no, you guys have your little.. private time” she waved a manicured hand in the at at whatever this was. “Clearly you need it.” She glared at the Hufflepuff before turning on her heels and headed downstairs. Great, now she’d have to somewhere with the other students too.

April knew it wasn't like Kauri to be impolite to anyone, but she had to resist the urge to argue his words. They had been here first, and no one actually needed to use this bathroom. April was convinced Daphne was just trying to be nosy, maybe even rub in that Gryffindor had won the match. it was a relief when she left despite Kauri's suggestion, and April stuck her tongue out at the door after the girl left. Then she looked at Kauri. "You're too nice sometimes." She muttered petulantly.

Kauri could tell his words hadn't been enough to soften April's, and he would have to find the girl and apologise to her some time. For now though, he wanted to focus on his best friend, relieved when it was just the two of them again. He sighed at her chiding, eyeing her. "Being upset isn't an excuse to be rude." He said gently, not wanting to be too hard on April when she was this upset. He stepped closer, putting an arm around her gently. "But look... you did great. And you'll crush it next year. Gryffindor just... got lucky."

April crossed her arms and huffed at Kauri's words. "Yes it is." She mumbled petulantly. " And she was rude too." She added, knowing this wasn't entirely true. She just really didn't feel like being nice to some random Gryffindor after the game. Didn't Kauri get that? April groaned when Kauri said Gryffindor just got lucky. "And did we get unlucky last year too? And the year before? I haven't been doing well lately..."
