Sybil felt silly and absolutely embarrassed as she rushed out of the great hall. But she also couldn't deny how the cool evening air made her instantly feel better. She just hoped she hadn't made a huge scene as she excused herself and headed for the door. She found her way to one of the stone benches and sat down heavily. She put her palms flat on each side of her and willed the coolness to travel up her arms and eventually reach her face that was on fire. She couldn't do this. She couldn't survive a whole year feeling like this. She kept trying to tell herself that she'd feel better once classes started and she could get a head start on lessons before she was overwhelmed with the rest of her responsibilities. Maybe that was true but the waiting felt like torture. It felt like counting down the days to her failure. Sybil let out a groan of frustration and covered her face with her hands.

Felix was halfway out of the Great Hall when he was debating whether or not Sybil had actually wanted to be followed. What if she was just going about her business, and he was about to make things incredibly awkward? The prefect debating turning back, until he saw that up ahead she'd taken a seat outside, her head in her hands. He slowed his walk a little as he approached closer, not wanting to startle her. "Are you okay?" he asked, pausing a few feet from the Slytherin. He knew she'd been in a similar position as he was when it came to his classes, but they had plenty of time until those started. Instead tonight would have been a time for reuniting with friends, and yet this prefect seemed to choose her own company.

The bench had cooled her palms and they felt good against her flushed face. But when she heard a voice Sybil gasped and dropped her hands like she had been caught casting an unforgiveable curse. It wasn't a good look for a prefect to be running a way in the middle of a feast. With Professor Castillo gone she had no idea how strict their new head of house would be. Could she get her badge taken away for this? But when she saw who it was she relaxed slightly. "Oh, Felix." she said in weak relief. At least she doubled he'd try and get her in trouble. "I'm ok." she said but it was an obvious lie considering how her voice shook. "What are you doing out here?" she asked tentatively.

As Sybil sat by herself out here, it reminded Felix of the day he'd found Jonah hiding from his brother. Perhaps she hadn't wanted to be found. Although the prefect wanted to make sure she was alright, especially after making such a quick getaway from the hall, he wasn't sure whether it the wisest move to put all the pressure on her with a questioning. "I'm.. just getting some air," he lied, saying the first thing that popped into his head. Somewhat gingerly, he took a seat beside the Slytherin, peering out across the courtyard. "It's just, really busy in there you know?" He didn't look at her, but was doing his best to sympathise. "Hey, congratulations on making prefect," he added, nudging her with his elbow and presenting a badge of his own too, "do you think the prefect lounge has like, way better couches that the common rooms?" If all the common rooms had a different theme, what was to say the prefect's lounge didn't too?
