Catch that cat

Eoghan stood there in the corridor, dripping butter as he heard the squeak of a shoe. He turned his head to see a younger student lying on the floor at his feet. "Sorry," he offered a hand to help her up. Lilith and Felix had already left them in the dust, neither of them stopping to make sure they were okay. He wiped his face with one of his sleeves, trying to avoid consuming any of the stuff before it set off his allergies.

Felix quickly regretted his outburst when Lilith explained she was just trying to call Kuu. Well, he hadn't known that. "I'm.. sorry okay?" It was a reminder that he felt excluded from their friendship at times, and while it had never before been because sometimes they spoke Finnish to one another, it just emphasized it. Felix sniggered at the sight of Eoghan getting splattered with butter, but it was Juniper he felt sorry for most. She slipped over at his feet, but Felix couldn't stop running. "Down here," he grabbed Lilith's sleeve as Kuu ran for the dungeons. This time raising his wand so he could conjure some additional light for them. "We need to trap her!"

Juniper's eyes widened even further when Eoghan, from Hogwarts Monthly, offered his hand to help her up and said sorry. Glancing around her she made sure he wasn't talking to anyone else but then again she was at his feet. "Sorry, I mean its okay? I um, thank you?" She said grabbing his hand and getting up with a small wince. Blinking a few times she peered around. "Is today some special day or why is there butter on the floor?"

Lilith felt bad that she'd spoken in Finnish, but to be fair she often did speak it to her cat. Some commands the demon knew in that language, some she didn't... Really depended on the cat's mood. Groaning Lilith went down to the dungeons with Felix after the cat and just as the Gryffindor Conjured light Lilith saw the best thing happen. "AMORY! Grab her! Don't let her go!" She yelled at the Slytherin coming towards them.

Amory was minding his own business, none the wiser what was happening above him. He was making his way toward the stairs to get out of the dungeons when some commotion got closer to him. Before he knew it there were claws clawing up his leg. What..... Looking down a black cat was climbing him like a tree. "Excuse me..." He began but then his head snapped up and he saw Lilith and Felix running at him. As the Ravenclaw's words registered it was too late. The cat had used him as a trampoline to jump off of and continue its escape. Stunned into silence Amory just stared.

Felix thought they were finally going to be able to stop running when Kuu clambered onto Amory. But he just stood there. "Bro!" Before Felix had a chance to tell him to wake up, the cat had leapt off him and scampered further into the dungeons. Felix's run ground to halt as he realised the corridor suddenly split off in multiple directions, his head darting between each one as he tried to work out which route Kuu had just taken. It was the greasy footprints in the light that caught the Gryffindors attention. "Now you smell like a pancake," he warned Amory, who no doubt also now held the buttery remanence on his outfit. Felix began to walk down the corridor, as quietly as he could. "Maybe if she doesn't think we're following her, she'll slow down?" It was a risk, but at least here there was only one way out.

Lilith huffed in frustration as her cat merely used Amory as some sort of a parkour practice. What had she done in her past life to deserve this. "Great idea." Lili said between heavy breaths as she started walking down quieter. The frantic tippytaps quieted down and suddenly she heard purring from the distance. The horrors starting to play in the fourth year's mind, but none could have prepared her for the scene in front of her. The cat had stopped, dropped the hamster and was now licking him. "My cat is a freak." Lili whispered sneaking closer, hoping the cat wouldn't realize and snatch the hamster back up and leave. She was so close yet so far, at the very end of the corridor.

Felix slowed his steps even more, carefully approaching the animals. He was nervous though, Butters was probably even harder to catch if he decided to make a run from it too. No doubt he wasn't used to having something lick him; Felix didn't think Luke liked him that much. He motioned to Lilith to stay on the other side of the corridor, so they could approach from both sides, and continued to creep steadily toward them. "Thought pets took after their owners" he whispered back, although glanced to the brunette with a grin to let her know he was joking.

Butters was sniffing the air again, although for a moment Felix thought he'd be able to grab him. He flung himself at the pair, hands cupped towards the hamster rather than the cat, but the animals reactions were faster than the fourth years, and both cat and hamster suddenly sprang backwards, bolting for Lilith.

Lilith didn't grace Felix with much of a reaction other than a small smile and shake of her head when he said that joke about pets taking to their owners. Lilith watched as Felix dove for the pair and missed. Then Kuu snatched running Butters back up and made for the Ravenclaw. Readying herself she was going to catch the pair. She'd do it. She'd put an end to this silly little trip around the castle. only as she dove her cat made a sharp left and practically walked against the wall, not really but almost, and got past her. Sending Lilith flat on the floor on her stomach. With empty hands. Groaning she huffed. "She's worse than the snitch!" She complained her frustrations scrambling back up and pulling Felix too.

It wasn't like Auden to be late for lunch. All the best stuff would be long gone by the time he made it to the great hall, and he was going to be grumpy if he had to eat the crusty ends of the bread again. But he was on a mission. It was called, 'filling Luke's slippers with shaving cream'. Auden had found a half-full can of the stuff in one of the older boy's dorms (not that he'd been snooping), and he was sure nobody would notice if he just used a bit.

The deed done, he slid the slippers back under the bed, put the can back where he'd found it, and bolted. Lunch time. The best part was, he could just blame Vex. That poltergeist, tut tut, always playing naughty pranks on people. He was the perfect scapegoat.

Half way down the dungeon corridor, Auden stopped. Something small and fluffy was trotting towards him with something yet smaller and fluffier in its mouth. A mouse? A rat? No - that was Butters! "Hey!" said Auden, marching forward. "That's my friend's! Dummy cat. Drop it!"

One moment Eris was having peaceful lunch in the great hall, then the next moment there was yelling and other stuff. Then wouldn't you know it there was butter flying everywhere, had she known the school would be so utterly chaotic she might have begged on her hands and knees to stay at home with her aunt and uncle. Well no that was a lie, she wouldn't. Eris had grown to at least appreciate the quietness of the dungeons. No accepting wasn't the right term. She hated the dungeons slightly less than she did when she'd been sentenced to seven years down there.

On her way down, meaning to get as far from the chaos as she could, she heard more voices. Sighing deeply she peeked around a corner, narrowing her eyes. Was that another one of the first year Slytherins? And was he calling a cat dummy? Who even called anything a dummy these days? Inching forward the first year tried to peer past her classmate, see what was going on that got the poor cat called dummy out of all other insults on this earth. "What's it got?" She asked taking a few steps forward peeking from the side. It was pretty black cat with some ball in its mouth. Not a ball... Was that a hamster? Someone was having a bad day as a hamster owner, maybe should have taken better care of the pet or whatever. "Maybe try grab the thing and not just call the cat dummy? It's not a dog, I doubt it knows commands like drop it." The hamster didn't look like it was in too bad of a shape, but then again what would she know.
