How could Freddie be indoors and outdoors at the same time? It was almost like... like standing in a courtyard, and the inside of the inside walls were actually the outside of the outside walls, or whatever. They should fill the great hall up with trees and snow more often. Like, every day. Why not? It was way better than just tables.

It wasn't real snow. It didn't feel slippy. Freddie bent to grab a handful, packed it into a rough ball, and shoved it straight down the back of Declan's neck. "Is it cold?" he asked, grinning.

Declan still found the magical side of things a bit strange, even though he pretty much grew up in the magical world. He couldn't really grasp the concept of how it was literally snowing inside the great hall, even though he knew it most likely wasn't real snow anyway. Declan was glad he hadn't brought Little Will with them. He thought that Little Will wouldn't survive in this cold. The Gryffindor had been busy looking around the great hall for a moment, trying to grasp everything around him, when he suddenly felt something cold down his back. The coldness of whatever was put on his back had made him jump, and he let out a wild animal shriek. "Hey!" Declan says jokingly being offended, before he had his own ideas and grabbed some snow nearby, turning it into a small snowball before gently throwing it to his friend. "Is it cold?" Declan replies the same thing back to his friend with a small grin

Freddie was cackling. He raised his hands to block the snowball that was coming, but Declan threw it so soft, it barely even touched him. Aw, c'mon. Was that the best he could do? "I dunno," Freddie grinned, shaking the flakes off his sleeve. "I didn't feel it."

Declan playfully narrowed his eye at his friend, like it was some sort of challenge. And so it seemed that Declan would accept that challenge. "Oh yeah?" Declan playfully taunted, before grabbing a whole lot more of the snow, making an even bigger snowball than the last one he had made, before throwing the ball a lot harder towards Freddie. "How about now?"

Ooh no. Freddie shouldn't've done that. He started to run, but he was too slow - the snowball smacked him in the shoulder, like a cold punch. He shrieked, rushing behind one of the huge trees. Listening. Was he coming? He scooped up some more snow, packing it together super-tight. No. Maybe that was too tight. It could actually hurt him. He dropped that one and started again.

Declan laughed out loud when he heard Freddie shriek, and before Declan knew it, Freddie was off running somewhere. Declan knew the general direction his friend had run off to before he went back down and picked up more snow to make another snowball, but as he came back up, Declan had grown confused, and he hadn't been sure where his friend had suddenly hidden. "Come out, come out wherever you are, Freddie!" Declan sang aloud, chuckling as he said it, walking around the area he thought Freddie would be hiding.

Aaaaah!! Freddie gave up trying to make the perfect ball and jumped out from behind the tree, launching it in the direction of Declan's voice. Not only did he miss, he also nearly hit a Slytherin girl who happened to be walking past. Oops. Wait, that could be funny. "Let's throw them at people dancing," he said.

Declan hadn't seen the snowball coming his way, and it had zoomed past his head. He watched as it also had missed one of the girls nearby. He slowly turns his head back to Freddie, a grin of mischief appearing on the Gryffindor's face. "I like where you're head is at, dear Freddie" Declan says with a chuckle, as he goes down to grab some more snow to make another snowball. "Any targets in mind?"

Freddie scooped up another handful as he headed for the dance floor. "I dunno," he said. There were lots of people dancing already - some of them on their own, some of them with partners. "Not a prefect. Someone close. That one?" Freddie nodded to someone near the edge of the floor and grinned, ready to throw his snowball when Declan did. "Do it on three."

Declan nodded quickly, agreeing not a prefect, and most definitely not a professor. That could go sideways, and not in a good way. The Gryffindor glanced towards where Freddie had nodded and noticed the person near the edge of the dance floor. They seemed like the perfect target, so Declan was happy with that. He grins and nods. "Target acquired" Declan says in a robotic voice, before he has a fit of giggles. He quickly calms down a little. "Sorry, sorry, yup, on the count of three" Declan quickly nods, as he prepares his throw his snowball. "Oneee... twoooooo.... threeeeeee" Declan counts and cheers once he reaches three, and both he and Freddie throw their snowballs towards the target.

Mania was minding her business, having come to the dance alone she decided to take to the floor alone. She was dancing, having the time of her life actually. Her hair was just straight and she was wearing a nice white dress. She had no idea what song was playing, nor did she really care as she twirled happily when all of a sudden she was hit with not one but TWO!!!!!! Cold balls that erupted as they collided with her skin and dress, it stung a little and she whirled around to look who had had the up most audacity to snipe her with the snowballs. "Was it you?" She asked a girl who shook her head and hurried away. Nope not her. Her eyes landed on a guilty, or happy, looking duo and she stomped over to them. "Did you just snipe me with snowballs?" She asked the boys while narrowing her eyes and pointing an accusatory finger at each.

Boom! The snow wasn't sticking together properly over here, but Freddie still managed to scoop up a powdery handful and throw it at someone else before the first girl realised it was them. He brushed the flakes off his hands, as if that was gonna make him look less guilty. "No," he said. "It wasn't us. We saw who did it, but - they ran off. Over there. Didn't they, Declan?"

And just like that, the snowballs had managed to hit the girl, and that had been accomplished. However, Declan hadn't expected the target, or the girl, should Declan put it, making her way towards them, and as the target inched their way closer, Declan quickly wiped off any sort of evidence on him that they were the people who committed the snowball crime. Declan nodded his head quickly at what Freddie had said, as the girl was close to them now with accusing them. "Yeah, man, they ran over that way. We were just minding our own business, dancing, right Freddie?" Declan quickly says, pointing in a direction that seemed similar to what Freddie had been saying, as he starts dancing to the song that was playing, having no idea what song had been playing at all, missing the beat entirely, hoping it was just convincing he was a horrible dancer.

Now Mania wouldn't lie, her surroundings were a bit blurry because she'd refused to wear glasses. Again. But as she got closer and closer the faces started to sharpen up and she saw one of the boys wiping any evidence away before falling into a lie. AHA! She recognized the one with darker hair. She'd been the one to scare him last time they'd met before her first year at Hogwarts, though she did not recall his name. Her eyes narrowed further, this time not to make her eyes focus and her sight clearer but out of pure suspicion. They'd been dancing? Why did they point into two different directions then? okay not completely the general direction had been similarish if you had one eye pointing to left and one to right... Ok maybe that was going too far but anyone would have known they'd been making it up by the difference in the directions they pointed. "Ooh yeah! I think I saw them! About yay tall?" She said showing with her hand about the average height of the two. "One was blonde and one a brunet? They were running real fast too!" She continued to play into the act of believing them.

godmod on the direction pointing approved :r

Dancing? Noooo. Freddie wasn't dancing. He would look even more dumb than Declan. Sorry Declan. But he wasn't even in time with the music - he just looked like Little Will had crawled up in his pants, or something. Freddie covered his mouth with his elbow to smother his giggles. Oh! But it worked. The girl believed them. Okay, Freddie forgave him. "Yeah," said Freddie. "Yeah! Wait - no. They were taller. They were taller. They were taller. This tall." Freddie held his hand way above his head. "Go after them. Go beat 'em up."

Declan continued dancing off beat to the music, trying his best not to laugh when Freddie seemed to be hiding his laugh at Declan's horrible dancing. What can he say? Declan wasn't the best dancer in the world if we're being honest. The Gryffindor internally sighed in relief when it seemed that she had believed that they had been dancing. "Yeah! Tall, very tall! Taller and older! Troublesome lot they are, tsk tsk, tsk," Declan says with a nod, agreeing with Freddie, as he, too, Freddie, put a rough height estimate, as the Gryffindor was slightly taller than his friend. "They did a snowball hit and run, if you run fast enough, you'll be able to catch them in time" Declan says with a shake of his head, pointing to the direction he had pointed to earlier, as he continued to dance.

Mania stared at the two boys quite blankly as one of them agreed but then soon backtracked. Though that had been enough for the second year to call them out on their lies. Shaking her head she spoke again. "Tsk tsk tsk, you shouldn't lie you know. A bad habit." She said in her best chastising tone she could muster. "See your moment of agreement and instant backtrack told me it was in fact you, not to mention you pointed in two different directions." Nia said with a shake of her head, channeling her inner mama. "Now what should I do? You did tell me to beat them up, so practically you offered me to beat you up. Fortunately for you I am not much for violence." There was a grin on her face as she went through her options mentally. "I could always tell the Professors.... but what's the fun in that? I'll just pay back the kindness." She said before picking up some snow with both hands and dunking one hand on each boy's head.

Freddie scowled. She was only a bit older than them, this girl, but she was acting like a big know-it-all, like a grownup, like their teacher. She didn't even see them do it. Okay, yeah, she was right, but she was annoying and dumb. And then - then she put snow in his hair! Freddie ducked away, shaking his head, trying to get it out, but it was too late. His hair was ruined. Probably all gross and stuck to his forehead. No! He spent like an hour making it look right. Used all his hairspray and everything. What did he look like? Was it bad? Did he look dumb?

Bathroom. Freddie turned, weaving through the crowd, trying to disappear inside it. He'd be back in a second. He wasn't upset. He wasn't throwing a tantrum. He just had to make sure he looked okay.

Next thing Declan knew, snow was suddenly placed on the top of his head. "Hey!" Declan whined with a pout. While he was sure that the girl was just being fun, he hadn't expected that. His hair was now messed up, but honestly, he didn't care about hair, and some of the snow had fallen onto his face. Declan had heard Freddie scowl when Declan had closed his eyes and shook his head to get the snow off him. But as he opened his eyes, Freddie was no longer beside him, which had made Declan frown a little. "Hey, where did he go?" Declan said with concern, as he looked around with a small, concerned pout.

Mania watched the both boys reactions, both reacting like she just ruined their whole lives or something. Yeah didn't feel nice getting snow on you out of nowhere without warning, did it? One of the boys then walked off, well then. Mania shrugged to the other boys question about where his friend went, how could she know? She wasn't a Legilimens or whatever that one was called. "Your guess is as good as mine," She said turning to the boy remaining there again. "Getting snow on you unannounced doesn't feel too nice, huh?" The second year asked, glancing down at her dress that had a wet spot from where one of the balls had hit and then her arm that had been hit. Albeit the snowballs hadn't been too hard, it didn't still feel nice getting hit with cold snow.

In the bathroom, Freddie peered at his reflection. It was bad. There were big clumpy bits stuck down all over. He grabbed a handful of paper towels and dabbed at his head, trying to fix the worst parts, but it wasn’t really helping. His hairspray was all melty. Why did she put it in his hair? Why didn’t she just shove it in his face, or something? It was kinda his fault for throwing snowballs at her, but like, it just didn’t seem fair.
