Apparition Exam

Irene Finch had specifically asked for the tables to be left in place for the exam. If the sixth years were going to be licensed, then they would need to possess the ability to work with their surroundings. Apparating across an empty room was convenient for beginners to practice, but the chances of apparating to a truly empty space were going to be slim to none in the real world. There'd be tree filled forests, garbage strewn alleys, and perhaps, when they were lucky, the occasional field or valley. This would be an especially important test for those students who were interested in careers in the Ministry as apparating was a requirement for many of the positions. It was an important skill, allowing independence of movement.

Irene arrived at the castle just in time to greet the students who were waiting just outside the Great Hall. The students were seated on the benches that had been provided to await their turn. "Good afternoon" she greeted, her icy blue eyes taking them in one by one. "In a moment, I'll begin calling you in alphabetically by your last name. Once I do, I'll ask you to apparate to a spot in the room. You will only get one shot. I will not pass you if even a hair, button, or shoelace remains where you once stood." Irene's gaze drifted by several students. Irene let them sit with that for a moment, wanting it to be clear because she hated the annoying begging for another chance that came when a student failed. She looked at their faces, wondering which ones she would be seeing in the courses that were provided by the Ministry throughout the year. Many people failed the exam on their first try, but the woman did nothing to reassure the students of this fact. It had been an interesting semester of lessons with this group, so she wasn't sure how successful they would be.

Stepping back into the room, where her clipboard was already charmed to take notes, Irene looked to be sure all was in order and then glanced at the list and called the first student forward. Once the student was inside, Irene shut the door tightly and began the exam.

Roleplay your character's attempt to apparate to a point in the room, you can godmod where Irene directed them. Don't forget that the Great Hall would look as it would on a regular day minus the students. :p
You will get an exam grade of A or T depending on whether you roleplay your character succeeding or failing. Extra credit will be given for the level of detail in your roleplay regardless of passing or failing. Feel free to godmod Irene if it is necessary to your roleplay. If you have any questions, message me. No replies will be accepted beyond Wednesday, the end of exam period!

Hinata patiently waited just outside the Great Hall though it definitely didn't make her any less nervous about this exam. She was fidgeting and her nerves were nearly fried. Her heart wasn't racing but it was definitely a presence in her chest that was making itself known. She knew she could always retake this exam, take the retest here or back home, but it was just another thing on her list of if she couldn't do this then how would she ever be able to really be an auror? She could do this. She's already done it in practice. Multiple times. She just didn't want to let herself down this time. When her name was called, she took a deep breath and walked inside, trying not to think how nervous she was.

Hina stepped into the Great Hall, it looked the same as ever which was both a relief and a sense of worry. When they were learning, the Great Hall was an open space, but now it almost seemed crowded. She knew it wasn't. When Finch-san pointed toward the far side of the room, right on the bench of the Slytherin table. Destination. Determination. Deliberation. Between one moment and the next, Hinata pulled on that thread, the sensation overtaking her before she found herself standing on top of the bench perfectly balanced, not a hair out of place. That was good, right?

Fraser walked to the great hall, feeling pretty ready for whatever this exam would bring. He was pretty sure that it wouldn’t be too bad, he had managed to apparate a couple of times, and he couldn’t imagine it was much different from that, if he’d managed it once, he could easily - hopefully - do it again. He waited with the other students, until his name was finally called. He stepped forward and into the hall, putting aside in his mind the thoughts of failure of what had happened to Zerrin that one time. He could do this, he could do this.

Fraser nodded to the spot he had to get to, a little thrown off by all of the things in the way, but he focused his attention on it, focused on making sure that he knew where he was going, and then leaned into the tug. It took a while, until he felt it, until he felt what he needed to to be able to then apparate with a crack across the room. Faster than he had managed previously but still where the examiner had likely thought or begun to think that he couldn’t manage it. But he got it, with a crack he was across the hall and with all his body parts in place.

Christian was never so worried when he went to the apparition exam because he didn't know how he would meet at all and nothing would happen because of the anxiety. Therefore, he had to stop stressing, when he went to the Great Hall, he tried to breathe calmly, so that he would be calm before the exam and would do everything as it should. Of course he had repeated almost all night what had been taught as he walked through the common room. After reaching the Great Hall, he listened to what the Ministry said and they would be called one by one in alphabetical order. Then meet he will go immediately after the twin sisters. Moving in front of the line moved pretty fast at least it seemed or Thomas seemed so because he was worried. He took a few deep breaths and it helped the excitement recede a little.

It was soon his turn. He entered the Great Hall, greeted the Ministry, and all that was left now was to do everything right. He looked at the place where he had to go, but here again a little anxiety broke over, taking over his whole body. Again he took a deep breath, then focused on the three D's with them in mind and focused on where he wanted to go. After a moment, he felt the familiar feeling of pulling, closed his eyes and continued to concentrate. He opened his eyes before watching whether he had come to the right place, took a deep breath. Looking down, he was in the right place. Christian smiled at Mrs. Finch and hoped that everything went pretty well, he walked out of the Great Hall so he could go inside next.

Myra had not overcome her fear, so she knew that she was definitely not ready to take the appariton exam. It was the awareness that nothing would happen. She didn't even want to go to the exam at first, although she was aware that she might get a bad grade and she didn't need that. That's why she gathered herself and went. She was shaking like an aspen leaf as she joined the others at the Great Hall door. As they waited, she tried to calm herself down to banish her fears. Until finally it all started that they would have to go inside until their name was called. This meant that it would be time to calm your fears, because there would be a long wait and an agonizing wait.

She was waiting for her name to be called and in the meantime it was a little bit to quell the fear and be sure that everything would be done pretty well to hope for it. She was already starting to get annoyed with the wait, but then her turn came and Myra slowly walked into the Great Hall. She listened to the instruction of what she had to do. Then she concentrated, but then she felt the fear take over her body again, only there was no time to think about it. She ignored them, then took a deep breath into her lungs, it had to be done to be calm. Myra concentrated on what she had to do, then suddenly felt what the tug was supposed to feel and realized she had done it. Only how well it succeeded will be known later. There was no real assurance that everything went perfectly well. There will be some mistakes.

Bailey would be glad when she could apparate at will but she wasn’t looking forward to the exam. Miss Finch seemed to like piling the pressure on her students, threatening to fail them if so much as a single hair was left behind. She would have to be perfect and that wasn’t something she had to be often. She had to wait a while for her turn, the downside of her name starting with a W. But eventually she walked into the Great hall alone and took her spot. She picked her spot on the other end of the hall, it was roughly where the big x had been during the previous lesson. Bailey focused on the three Ds, the process she had followed during her previous successful attempts and really tried to make sure she took all of her with her. No reason to start leaving body parts behind now. Bailey felt the usual twisting sensation in her gut and with a pop she opened her eyes and was standing on the other side of the hall. She did it!

It was just easier all around if Mikael passed this exam in one go. He ignored the other students as they waited outside the Great Hall. They were going by surname so that meant he'd be somewhere in the middle. And that he'd be waiting with Theodore. Unfortunate. When his name was called, he walked in and gave a curt nod to the Ministry official. He stood, hands in his pockets as he waited for his instructions. He was told to apparate in between the two tables, at the far end, near the Professor's table. Without so much as a word, he apparated smoothly, following that tug until he landed at the spot he was meant to, nothing left behind.

Theodore entered the Great Hall when he was called, giving the much older woman a two-finger salute with a grin. The exam was relatively easy - provided he didn't lose important body parts. Not that there were less important ones. But it would be hard to lose a leg. The fourth toe on his left leg would probably be not noticeable. Probably. Anyway. Best not to lose it because otherwise, he'll be failing an exam. The woman told him to apparate in front of one of the windows "Yes ma'am" he said before attempting to apparate. 3D's. Very important. And then there was that sinking feeling. Hate that. And he spun and landed where the woman had been pointing and gave a solid whoop a second later. He didn't think he lost a toe so that definitely counted for something!

June made her way to the great hall knowing she had her exam for apparition today. This was an important skill she knew she needed to use in the future, but she was confident she would do well. June sat on the bench and waited for the woman. This was different than before. They could come in if they were called, unfortunally she couldn't watch others. She would enjoy see people failing. And she didn't mind people looking at her succeeding and be the better out of them all. But having some quiet around her to focus wasn't too bad after all. The woman seemed strict, but you either did it good or not. And June liked that. When the first students were getting called June focused herself trying to remember all that was important. And looked over through her notes once more. And when she was getting called she made her way in looking confident and giving the woman an short smile.

The blonde focused herself and since she practiced this year with nonverbal magic, it was very important to remember the three D's. Once she made it to the spot she needed to start she looked at the spot she was supposed to go. This time not X on the ground. Just the area where she needed to go. Close to where the headmaster usually spoke, it was her goal to go there. It was an large distance, but June knew she could do it. And perhaps the woman wanted to test her and know she was one of the best June told herself. Than she looked over to the spot she wanted to land and focused herself. And was ready to apparate. She felt the strange feeling in her body, but which was getting less strange everytime. And than as she looked at the ground she saw the woman standing further away than she had been before. And she had moved to the other side of the room, where she was supposed to land. And smiled as she knew she was succesfull. '' Thank you, for your lessons.'' the blonde mentioned to the woman with an smile as she left the room and the next could come in.

Horror Zhefarovich had no sense of nervousness in his body when he entered the Great Hall. This was their exam. They would either succeed or fail. One shot was all they had. He waited for his turn, and once it was, Horror saw the destination. He had the words in his mind, and focused. He felt the magic build, and then that hated feeling of apparating. He would get used to it over time. He opened his eyes and saw that he was where he wanted to be. Not even an inch outside of his goal. Good, now he just had to get the license and he could go do what he wanted. Once he was 17.

Loki Styx wanted to hurry up and get this over with. He needed the freedom. Loki craved it more than anything. He stood with the other sixth years who were eager to get their license. He did hope to see someone fail. Would they cry? It would show that not everyone could be winners. Alas, Loki needed to refocus on himself. He had only one shot at this, and the distance was greater than before. Loki shoved his hands in his pockets, as if to ground himself. He remembered everything that was taught to them, and then attempted to apparate. When he opened his eyes, he had done it. Well, that didn't seem stressful.
