Killian might not have been able to duel when he was a kid - due to his giant genes, this was the next best thing. He did wonder how dueling was in Hogwarts New Zealand versus the dueling that was over in Durmstrang. Only time would tell. He signed up again this year to help proctor the dueling matches. At least if a spell went sideways and hit him, he will likely not feel it. "Choose opposite ends of the stage. When you are ready, bow to your opponent, and begin. Whoever wins will advance." Killian took a step back and folded his arms across his chest to witness the chaos.​

The duel begins now. You have 24 hours from this to post your first reply, or face disqualification. Once both duelists have posted, you will have 24 hours from your opponents post to reply, or be disqualified. Ensure that you use the spell list for guidance on age-appropriate spells, and read over the dueling rules and points system. Please also remember site rules apply, including power/god modding. You can find the site rules here. Duels will run until there is a winner or until 6 IRL days have passed, in which case the winner will be chosen by RNG. If you are knocked out or otherwise disarmed/incapacitated, or if you run out of points, you will lose and the duel will end. Have fun!
As an added note: Spectators are allowed to post in this topic once per competitors post, but are forbidden from directly interfering with the duels.

Ivy got to the durlling chamber pleased that she had made it through two duels and was now in the finals. this time they had professor Borisyuk supervising the, the man towering over the stage seeming even taller than usual. she took her spot and bowed at the professor then turned to sunny "best of luck" she said before bowing. she readied herself and once the duel was bevan she waved her wand "Petrificus Totalus" she said

Sunny had a free pass to the final which she had absolutely no issue with. She faced off against Ivy who she knew mostly from classes and playing Quidditch. "Oh no, I don't believe in luck!" She commented, just something she hoped to throw Ivy off with. Sunny bowed then pointed her wand and cast, "Protego. Locomotor Mortis"

Ivy shrugged when sunny said she didn't believe in luck and then sent a spell her way. "protago. Okay... then i don't wish you any luck at all" she said, thick was probably more like the luck she actually wanted to wish her anyway. she then waved her wand again untinentially casting the opposite spell to what Sunny had cast Tarantallegra

Sunny would win with hard work, skill and being sneaky. She blocked then cast the slug vomiting curse. "You're a really great duelist, I don't think you need luck either."

Ivy blocked the curse that was sent towards her with a Protago and smiled as Sunny said she thought she was a really great duelist. she knew it was probably just a way to make her feel confident and slip up but it still felt nice to get a complement. She swished her wand and cast the jelly fingers curse in the hopes it would mean that sunny would drop her wand and be unable to pick it back up.

Sunny frowned when Ivy didn't return her compliment or even thank her, but no matter, some people were just rude. She blocked then adjusted her face back to a smile and cast, "Expelliarmus"

the duel was moving quickly with a few spells fired back and forth in quick succession. but ivy was on her toes quite literally as she dodged the spell that Sunny sent to her feeling it whoosh past her barely missing her left arm. "Well if we dont believe in luck May the best witch win, it should be a good competition" she said. Hoping that she would be leaving with the duelling trophy two years in a row. she raised her wand again. Petrificus Totalus

Sunny was moments away from celebrating when she thought her disarming charm was going to hit. Then Ivy managed to dodge and Sunny frowned, feeling she should have won by now. She blocked then sounded surprised at what Ivy said, "We. Are you telling me you don't believe in luck either? Expelliarmus" She had been so close last time and hoped this time might hit.

this time ivy didnt miss the spell and was able to block it with a "protago. the same spell twice in a row. you mist be holding out. or only know a couple" she hadn't really thought about which she believed in. "I guess it depends. i will believe in it if it benefits me" she said. right now was a confusing situation. but the rules didn't have to make sense in anyone else's head except hers.
she was surprised when the girl tried to disarm her twice. but hey maybe it had worked for her in thepast. "come on twice in a row. i think its time to take a break or mix things up a bit. todus" she said. casting a spell that her sister hadtaught her.

Sunny had no idea what Ivy was casting and stepped to the side of the spell, letting it go past and dissolve without impact. She looked back at Ivy and gave her a strange look, "Well that wasn't the disarming spell. Personally, I like disarming, but as you wish. Sunny sent the Jelly Brain Jinx.

Ivy was slightly disapointed that the spell didn't hit. it would have been interesting to see the effects of it. thoring up frogs certainly seemed like an interesting jinx. she chuckled at Sunnys comment/ "well noticed. its a little sneeky one my sister taught me. she said Maybe she would try it again later. but before she could muse much on if it would be better worse than throwing up slugs (probably worse) sunny had sent the jelly brain jinx at her. this was the spell that she had won her last duel with. and she was not loosing to it this time. "Protago" she said before casting the fur growing spell. not going to win her any duels. but she knew from experience it was an inconvenience. both during the fight and after trying to reverse it.

Sunny did not want to be hit by the fur growing spell, she blocked then sent another spell which was one that would make Ivy laugh a lot if it hit her, "Rictusempra"

Ivy went to dodge the spell thown towards her however it managed to glance off her. but apparently the glance was enough. She chuckled, thinking of how it was like being hit by a bludger in quidditch. she let out another giggle which grew until side splitting laughter. she needed to pull herself together. she waved her wand and really focussed on her breathing before she managed to cast the leak ear jinx on an inhalation. now that would be funny to watch.

Yes a hit, she thought that the duel was over and lowered her wand at exactly the wrong moment. The spell hit and leeks sprouted out of her ears, actual leaks. Sunny felt her leaky ears and screamed.

Even if ivy had not been under the effects of the laughing spell she would still be laughing at the sight of leeks growing out of Sunnys ears. as it was she was. and the sights of the vegetables growing out of her ears Left Ivy doubled over and gasping for air her ribs sore from laughing. even the sounds of the slytherins screams didn't stop the laughter too much. she wanted to say something witty but she could hardly get enough air in without trying to speak. she didn't want the duel to end here though. She wasn't actually sure who would win if it did end now. she had made the last hit but sunny hit had probably been harder. she raised her wand. "Ha, ha, ha ha ha-aacio wand she managed to chortle out.

The laughter and the leeks sprouting from her ears threw Sunny off completely. She knew she had cast Rictusempra, but the way Ivy was laughing felt personal, like she was laughing at her and she didn't like it. Before she could fully process it, her wand was snatched from her grip, leaving her disarmed. Sunny felt she was going to cry and wanted off this stage as quickly as possible.
