The semester was ending and Sully was well ready for a big party to cap it all off. He'd been excited to fancy himself up more this year, more prepared for the school parties and stuff, and had been excited when Aisa had been down to go together with him this year. He knew they weren't dating or anything, but it definitely looked cooler to show up with a girl than by yourself or just with your mates. Straightening his tie as they walked into the hall together, Sully was distracted immediately by all the enchanted decorations and food spread out across the hall. Even in his second year, he still couldn't quite get over how cool magic just made everything.

"Alright, let's get this party started," He chirped, grinning ear to ear as he hurried Aisa with him further into the hall. Mostly focused on Aisa, Sully didn't fully notice another boy nearby until he'd bumped into him, stepping back to regain his balance.
"Oi, watch out," Sully said, brushing past the guy and giggling as he flailed to keep his balance. The guy looked dorky as with his glasses and big hair and Sully couldn't help but laugh at the image it made as the other boy stumbled. "Your big hair's probably throwing off your balance or something, aye." He said with another laugh, looking over at Aisa to see if she was finding his joke as funny as he was.

Clifton had never attended the Yule Ball before, but he was feeling daring. This year was all about being daring. Ever since moving to New Zealand, life had been great. Clifton couldn't even remember the last time anyone had picked on him, and it was encouraging enough for him to start stepping outside his comfortable bubble. Upon arriving at the ball though, Clifton realised he had no idea what he was actually doing here. He didn't have a date, or anyone to hang out with, and didn't really know what to do with himself. What did people do at balls, other than dance? Standing around, lost, Clifton didn't really realise there was anyone on a collision course with him until he had been collided with, yelping in surprise as he stumbled, almost knocked to the ground entirely. He turned and looked at the boy who had hit him, opening his mouth to apologise automatically, but the other boy's response shocked Clifton into silence. Oh.

Going with Sully to the yule ball beat going by herself, and as a member of Accio, Aisa knew she had to go to these events. She was exasperated by the boy quite often, but she could admit she liked him too. They were friends, and it was nice to at least have someone to spend time with. She wouldn't say she let Sully get too close, especially because she didn't expect him to take almost anything seriously, but he was good company. And if she went with him to an event like this, at least she could keep an eye on him too. Hopefully, she could keep him out of trouble. Aisa sighed as Sully practically dragged her into the hall. "Calm down, it's just a dance." She told him. In his enthusiasm, Sully bumped into another boy, and Aisa put a hand over her face. This was a great start of the night. Instead of apologizing, Sully told him to watch out, and then made fun of his hair. Aisa frowned, and pulled away from Sully. "You were the one running around like an idiot." She told him. "And now you're behaving like a jerk." She recognized the other boy, and waved at him, purposely turning away from Sully. "Hey Clifton, don't mind him." She gestured to Sully without looking at him. "I'm starting to suspect he thinks acting like an idiot is charming, when it's the opposite. You alright?"

Sully felt his grin slip a bit when Aisa called him an idiot. And a jerk. "I'm just joking," He shrugged, trying not to look put out. "He can take a joke right?" Sully added pointedly, giving the other boy a little cuff on the arm. It seemed like Aisa knew the guy too and now wanted to talk to him. Trying not to sulk, Sully crossed his arms, looking between Aisa and the dude he'd run into. If they were just going to stand around and talk things were going to get boring. This dude just exuded boring energy and he hated when Aisa was all boring. It was more fun when Sully was trying to convince Aisa to not be boring. Sully tapped his foot a little, looking bored and pretending to stifle a yawn when the old boy would respond to Aisa, hoping she might remember they were here together to have fun, not talk to boring guys with funny looking glasses.
