Felix was glad to be home in his room, in his bed. He did miss Leo and his other friends a little bit but he was glad to be back with Dad and Thistle. It just wasn't home without all of them in one place. He was also glad to be back with all of his books on magic tricks and had been practicing some of the more complicated ones late into the night. He had only really woken up at a reasonable hour because he was hungry and yawned as he entered the kitchen. With his eyes still half closed he poured himself a bowl of cereal and sat down at the kitchen table that always seemed to be covered in papers. Sometimes it was mail sometimes it was a part of whatever Thistle was up to that day. But today it was mail and he spotted a suspicious looking envelope addressed to Sawyer. Felix picked it up and it weighed more than just a normal letter and he noticed a lump in it. He tried to listen to see where everyone else was but the house was uncharacteristically quiet. That was something he'd have to look into later. But for now he fiddled with the envelope and held it up to the light try and see inside. That's when he noticed there was a hole in the parchment and a second latter a blue badge fell on to the table with a thud. At first his heart stopped, thinking his brother was going to be a prefect. But in fact it was much worse. He was going to be quidditch captain.

Sawyer squinted as he headed downstairs, dodging the one that creaked near the bottom, uneasy from the relative quiet of the house. He hoped Dad and the others were messing around outside and not up to something since he'd spent way too long staying up talking to Theia last night and was far too groggy to deal with any surprises this morning.

He scrubbed a hand through his hair, aware it was sticking up at bizarre angles as he shuffled past Felix at the kitchen table, making a beeline for the pantry to poke around instead of trying to brave whatever might be residing in the old tupperware in the fridge right now. Bread in hand, Sawyer slowed when he turned around and took in what Felix was actually doing at the table, narrowing his eyes. "Is that my letter?" He said, making a grab for the parchment in Felix's hand.

Felix felt like he was on a rollercoaster of emotions. It was a mixture of pride and horror and the pride was fading fast. His brother being captain would really make playing against him harder than it already was. He was still destine to be on the bench for another year but what if he had to sub in like he had last year. Not to mention this was likely to go right to Sawyers head. It was as if thinking about him summoned him downstairs and Felix scrambled to hid the evidence but he wasn't quick enough. "It already had a hole it in I swear!" he said quickly and dropped the letter. He was just quick enough to grab the badge from where it fell onto the table. Thankfully it hadn't gotten swallowed up by all the unopened mail that seemed to live there most days.

Sawyer snatched the letter, giving Felix's face a small shove for good measure as he examined the envelope. "What do you mean-" He started, sticking his finger suspiciously into the hole Felix had mentioned. Sawyer had been expecting the usual letter from the school with his booklist for the new year but he was also distinctly aware that his captain's badge would be coming any day now. He hadn't told the rest of the house about that part yet, almost as if saying it out loud made the responsibility suddenly that much more real. Felix had definitely grabbed something off the table however and Sawyer feared his days of enjoying his break in peace were quickly ending. "What are you holding, give me that," he said, lunging for Felix's hand, sending a few pieces of junk mail fluttering to the floor.

With the house so quiet during the school year, Thistle was having to readjust to having the sounds of her siblings around the house again. It was a relief, more than anything. So when she heard Felix and Sawyer having some kind of scuffle in the dining room, she was quick to dart in. Whateve they were fighting about, Thistle imagined she had missed more than enough fights at school that she had plenty to make up for. "No, it's mine!" She yelled and dove for Felix, grabbing at his hand and hoping he would pass her the badge, so she could make a break for it with whatever thing of Sawyer's Felix had stolen now.

Felix liked to think that he was quick but Sawyer was apparently very eager to get his hands on the badge. Which he understood but that didn't stop him from devoting everything he had into keeping it away from him. He let out a strangled sound and his brother shoved his face but he kept his grip tight. Thankfully Thistle came to his rescue and he was able to pass it off to her just in time. "I don't know what you're talking about." he said with a mischievous grin and was obviously lying. But he held up his now empty hands for good measure.

Sawyer wrestled with Felix for a moment, trying to wrest what had to be his new Captain's badge from his hand. Clearly playing as seeker had given Felix an annoyingly good grip. He didn't even notice Thistle until she was already scurrying away, giving up on Felix and nearly tripping on the table leg as he tried to block her from bolting out the door. "Thistle, no," he tried, arms spread wide, ready to grab her as he skidded on the floor in his socks. "Aren't I your favourite brother?" He tried, eyes wide. "I'll play any game you want. Even the one with the worms." Sawyer really didn't want to have to write to Professor Josephs before school had even started to explain that he needed a replacement badge because his sister had buried his in the yard or something equally embarrassing.
