The school year was coming to an end and as most would expect Kalani had been studying like a wild person. It wasn't as if she wanted to do anything with magic after graduation but she knew that the life of a professional ballerina did not last long so she needed a back up once she retired from the company that had hired her. So she cracked open her text book and began to read it, with a sigh. She really did not want to do this today but a Head Girl must have standards with marks so she read in spite of herself. With a yellow high lighter in hand like it was Excalibur, Kalani stabbed into the clean pages of her books. NEWTs would be easy for her because she enjoyed standardized testing so she gave up trying to study and rested her head down on the soft grass and looked up into the sky. With the amount of clouds covering the sun, the girl did not even have to squint, instead she just watched the clouds roll by and picked out what shapes she could see until her eyelids felt heavy and began sinking over her hazel orbs. Over-exhaustion and a gentle breeze was all Kalani Alexandra needed to fall asleep on the Beauxbatons lawn and allow her to imagine freely.
When Kalani dreamed it was the only time she became her true self and not the one she showed to certain people. When in a conscious mind, the Head Girl was busy trying to be perfect, trying to act modest, trying to be the girl that everyone wished they could be but also seem to be able to balance everything that was given to her. It was stressful and in her current state she was allowed to explore this and allow her mind to heal her enough to deal with it all for another day.
Lately, Kalani's life had become a little bit more stressful because she not only had to study but she had to help with her mother's wedding, she had to look for apartments for Riley, Jennifer and herself and she still had to keep up appearances and be the Head Girl everyone expected her to be. She really felt like she needed someone to give her a shoulder to lean on, to understand her and not be annoying like Malachy was proving to be.
