Corey Edogawa was in cloud nine. Things had been going rather well in the last few weeks that even with the rigorous training under the Tengus in preparation for the next season, the seeker felt like he always had energy to spare. He was finally engaged to the love of his life and they had already begun planning the wedding. Nothing too overt but bits and pieces here and then. They had started after both of them had managed to let their families know. Corey thinks it all went rather well but he rather did have a low standard for what constituted as well and great so perhaps he was not the best person to judge the corcumstance that went on with the family announcements. Now though, Corey intended to let his best friend know about his upcoming nuptials.

It was only unfortunate that Corey’s best friend lived a continent away. It was just lucky that he had enough connections that he was able to get a regular portkey for his visits to New Zealand, especially ever since the Raven twins started residing here which was ages ago. Even so, he had to limit his visits to once a month. Maybe twice if he had the time for it. After all, Corey did enjoy hanging out with his best friend even if he could get quite grumpy. It was okay though since sometimes they ended up sparring which was always a good workout so he now usually brought a bag with a change of clothes whenever they hung out. The former Hufflepuff was actually looking forward to this, which is why today he found himself outside the home of Kalif Styx II, knocking, yelling, and waiting to be let in. “Hellooooooooooo? Kaliiiiiiiiiif, are you theeeeeere? I know you’re theeeeeeere!” Kalif always did take long to open the door.

Ever since the news of Liusaidh's pregnancy, Kalif Styx the Second had been in a better mood. He started working with Liusaidh's family business, and honestly, life was going well for him. That is, his thoughts were interrupted as he was setting up the nursery - a bit early but eventually they were going to fill it anyway. There was a knock at the door, and constant yelling. He knew that voice. Of course he knew that voice. What was it with people annoying him suddenly becoming the most vital people in his life? He never would have thought that he and Liusaidh would have ended up married ten years ago. Although, he did have a mental bet on which triplet Corey was going to end up with. Of course it was the Hufflepuff. Kalif let out a sigh, and exited the nursery, closing the door behind him.

Kalif finally managed to get to the front door and open it. He was glad that his wife was currently out, because this would have been stressful during the sensitive trimester. After all, miscarriages could happen during the first couple of months. "Do you have to yell so much?" Kalif shook his head as he stepped to the side to let Corey in. "I'm in a good mood so let's not ruin it with something trivial." Kalif was not sure if he should share the news of his new heir yet or not.

Corey grinned when Kalif finally opened the door and was his usual grumpy self. "You wouldn't have opened the door otherwise," he said with a shrug as he walked inside, leaving his shoes by the door. It was likely to happen, which is why he usually resorted to knocking loudly and yelling whenever he would come visit. That had never failed him before. "How's the missus?" he asked as he looked around from where he was standing but didn't see Kalif's wife anywhere. He really didn't know if she liked him or not, but Corey liked to think that they got along well. If he could get along with the grump that was Kalif, everyone else was practically smiles and rainbows. "Trivial? There is nothing trivial about this visit!" he said as he remembered why he was there in the first place. He was practically bouncing when he remembered. "Roxas asked me to move in with him!" he said excitedly, which was probably a weird thing to announce since he's been living with Roxas for like... Corey wasn't sure, but he was sure it was a while now. "And I asked him to marry me! And it worked!" he could barely contain his excitement to properly form a cohesive announcement or story, but it was okay. Kalif was his best friend; he'll figure it out.

Well, Corey had him there. Kalif would not have opened the door. He would have sent someone else to do it, but Corey came in and immediately took off his shoes. At least he was kind enough to have done so. "Liusaidh is pregnant with my child. Perhaps it is a good thing she is out while you are around. She doesn't need the added stress," Kalif stated coolly. Liusaidh was only in the first trimester, and after that, it might be safe to have Corey around her. Her hormones haven't given him any more grief than they had before. Kalif raised an eyebrow when he said that it was not trivial, and that Roxas asked him to move in, and then Corey proposed. Kalif opened his mouth, but then shut it. The excitement was enough to let him know that they were engaged. "Huh. I thought you two were already living together and married." Kalif shrugged his shoulders, since he was more or less assuming things about people that considered him a friend, for some reason.

It probably said a lot about Corey and how distracted he is that Kalif's news just went right over his head. Because all that registered with him was that he was apparently stressful to be around, which was quite rude. "I'm not stressful," he said in mock offense before sighing. It was fruitless to make Kalif think otherwise. He was very confused however when Kalif told him that he thought he and Roxas were married. Why? He got the part where he thought they were living together already because Corey thought he'd already been living with Roxas until his then-boyfriend-now-fiance asked him to move in. "Why does everyone think that?" he asked, exasperated. Because it seemed like everyone thought they were married and it was Corey and Roxas who weren't informed. His siblings had taken to reminding him that he was already married. It was when he was lamenting this that he finally realized what Kalif had said. "OHMYGOD!" he whirled around in shock to his best friend. "You guys are pregnant! That's amaaaazing!" he exclaimed, jumping in an attempt to engulf his best friend in a hug because this definitely called for a hug. "Oh my god I should've brought a gift! Do you think she'd like a maternity pillow? They're super comfy," he said pulling away as fast as he came, pacing around with so much energy as he thought of possible maternity gifts. This was such exciting news! "Oh my god you're gonna have a baby!"

He should not be surprised that the news went right over Corey's head. Kalif even cracked a bit of a smirk when he asked why everyone thought that. He was not even going to try to explain it because he knew that it would go over Corey's head. A lot would. He was a hell of a fighter, but he was missing a few bottles of ink from a stationary set. He practically counted in his head when the news would settle in about his future baby. And then it did. A little too loudly. And then tried to hug him. Kalif did not think that he would be stupid enough to do that, but he was engulfed in a hug that he did not want to be in. He did not even have time to react and tell him off before the hug was done. He raised an eyebrow at him and asked, "How do you know what a maternity pillow feels like?" Kalif did not think that everyone would know what one felt like. Just pregnant women. "Yes, my wife is pregnant. But no, we do not need any sort of outside assistance. Besides, it is too young to know which sex it is, so gifts won't be needed." Kalif would turn it down no matter what anyway.

Corey was so excited. He couldn't believe that Kalif and his wife were already expecting their first child. It was amazing and Corey was so, so happy for them! He'd always loved children, and so to hear that his best friend was going to have one was nothing short of spectacular. He didn't even care that Kalif was confused about him knowing what a maternity pillow felt like. Of course, he'd know what a maternity pillow felt like. Kalif should know what a maternity pillow would feel like. "Kaa-chan's been pregnant all my life, she always has one," he says with a shrug. It was probably his mom's best friend whenever she got pregnant since he thought there were times she wouldn't let his dad near her and she'd cuddle with the pillow instead. "How far along is the missus?" he asked curiously. Since they didn't know the sex of the baby yet, that meant that Liusaidh was probably still in the early stages of pregnancy. No wonder Kalif was worried about him stressing her out! Not that he's stressful! And he wouldn't stress out a pregnant woman excuse him. Corey knew better than that. "Wow. That's really amazing."

It took him a moment to remember what Corey meant when he said Kaa-chan. He nodded along, and wondered why she was pregnant all of the time. Who would want that? He could barely tolerate his wife when she was not pregnant. Add hormones to it, and he might not be able to stand her. So far, things seemed to be okay. They got their child when they wanted, and had their fun during their honeymoon that lasted longer than he cared to admit. His wife needed the rest afterward, let’s just go with that. “I will have to look into it. Lucy is just a couple of months along. I don’t think she is showing. Or I haven’t looked at her stomach enough to notice.” Kalif might have been giving the impression that he was not an attentive husband, but that was certainly not the case with his wife. He still could not believe that he managed to bring her home. “I think she only wants a son, but between you and me, I would not mind a few more. Our personalities mixed into a child would definitely drive my grandfather into permanent retirement.”
