Though Anabelle didn't have a date, she knew that Sheridan would be there if things went skew. There was only one person she was interested in seeing tonight, she wanted to ask if he gave the rose but she was way too unsure and shy to ask straight away. Anabelle wore a simple blue dress with flowers, and she had spent a lot of time perfecting her makeup and the pink lipstick on her lips, that matched the shade of the rose she had received.
The blonde Slytherin entered the Great Hall, taking in the beauty that it was. Every year, every occasion, the Hall was always dressed immaculately. But Anabelle was only looking for one person. Her eyes finally found him, and she took a deep breath, gathering all the courage she had before walking up to him. "Hey, Aaron? Do you - would you like to dance?"

Aaron was actually a little nervous for the night ahead. He hadn't been to the ball with the intentions of meeting a girl there ever. However, he was really excited to see Anabelle again. She had been on his mind ever since that first meeting a couple of weeks ago and he wished that he had sent her a rose in that period in between but he was too scared to. He had finally begun to understand what Lucas had been trying to tell him for all these years. He smoothed down his hair and set off in the direction of the Great Hall. He walked through the double doors and quickly scanned the room for the blonde Slytherin but there was no sign of her. Instead, he went to see his two best friends until Anabelle arrived.

It seemed like forever before he heard Anabelle's voice behind him, when in reality it was probably only minutes. He turned around and grinned widely. She looked so beautiful and he found himself completely speechless. Something that was deeply embarrassing, especially when she asked him a question. All he could do was nod enthusiastically which probably made him look like some ridiculous bobble head. He blushed a little and gestured to the dance floor which they both then walked to. He took a deep breath and took Anabelle's hand in his "you... you look really really nice, Anabelle" he stuttered.

Anabelle blushed as the walked onto the floor, and it only reddened some more when Aaron told her she looked nice. She was sure her face looked as bright as a tomato now, what a lovely color to go with her blue dress. While Anabelle was happy that Aaron had said yes, she was also incredibly anxious and now had no idea what to say. She placed her hand on his shoulder, her other one in his hand. Anabelle smiled up at the boy. "Thank you - you look really goo - uh - nice too." Was saying good too much? He did look good. But he said nice, so she had to follow suit...right? Anabelle wanted to ask him about the rose, but she didn't want to bombard him or make him feel awkward just yet. "Have you, had a nice day?"

Aaron grinned when Anabelle placed her hand on his shoulder and the other one in his hand. He began to move slowly with Anabelle in time to the music and hoped that this was the correct thing to do. Fifteen years old and he hadn't danced with a girl like this before! He continued to smile when the blonde Slytherin returned the compliment "oh, thanks" he quickly looked down at his outfit and wished he'd made more of an effort. Anabelle looked beautiful in her dress and all he was in was some old shirt that he found stuffed in the bottom of his suitcase. He became suddenly aware that he was quite under-dressed compared to the other people at the dance but it didn't seem like Anabelle minded too much, hopefully. "I haven't done that much today actually" he answered, which was a lie. He spent half the day worrying about the Dance and seeing Anabelle again and the other half frantically trying to find something decent to wear. "What about you? Did you get much studying done today?" he asked, grinning, referring to the last time they had met.

Anabelle felt as if her cheeks were never going to stop being red, and she found herself having to look away, rather than make awkward eye contact with Aaron. What on earth was she thinking? Why did she think this would be a good idea? At least he had agreed to dance with her; did that mean he sent the rose? It wasn't until he answered her question that Anabelle felt she could look at him again. She giggled when he asked if she had gotten much studying done. That was the last thing that had been on her mind that day. Ana took in a breath, thinking it was now or never, right? "No, actually...but I did get a rose..."
