Surprising her husband was difficult these days but Edgar always managed to do romantic, spontaneous things for her and Kalani was not going to let this be a one way street so she finished marking essays while in her shop and closed up as quickly as possible so she would have enough time to watch the last hour of his practice. The former ballerina snuck in as quietly as possible although she knew that would be remarkable if succeeded because her old instructor knew if someone breathed the wrong way as well as twenty other small things an untrained eye would so easily miss. The blonde witch smiled at her husband with her cheeks flushed - seeing him like this brought vivid memories to their somewhat disastrous first time dancing together and it was for this reason that one must always be careful to wear a dance belt securely. Kalani took a spot beside the a few familiar faces which she also greeted with a smile before returning her gaze back to her husband who she watched adoringly as he danced. His lifts were so perfect and secure and it had made her feel very safe while she was in the air with so little control over what happened between her and the floor. Edgar Kane had never once dropped her anywhere that she had not explicitly told him to before pulling him down with her, an entirely different matter.

An hour and a few more trains of thought marked the end of the lesson. Kalani watched as the teacher excused herself from the stage before Kalani greeted her like an old friend and mentor which she so very much was. As the blonde’s husband cooled down there was light chit chat exchanged, reminding her that she was offered a position as a teacher and even a choreographer if the Muggle Studies Professor wanted it but she had her hands full and a little more than her heart broken by the cruel mistress of ballet. So she shook her head politely, shook the woman’s hand and walked up to the stage where her Edgar was. “Edgar Kane, I don’t believe it!” Kalani said, mirroring their first sober meeting like a pas de deux. She smiled cheekily at him before she gave him a quick peck on his temple, not minding the sweat in his hair at all as they had both been very used to this in one another after hours and hours of practice and then show upon show. It was entirely impossible to always be smelling fresh as a daisy in these cases and after being together for such a long time there were certain things that could not bug Kalani and a little sweat was nowhere near the few things that she did wish her husband made a better effort to influence differently but she still very much adored her smelly, blond beau. “Hi sweetie,” she said lovingly. As she had no intention of distracting him from the necessary apres-class stretches that aided in preventing injury Kalani tentatively took a seat beside him. There were certain things that she could no longer do anymore thanks to an injury a few years back that had brought her to the ground crying but not because of the seemingly unsurmountable pain but because she had known in that moment her career was over. She had cried so heartily and felt her heart shatter because her first love was ballet so she would not be the indirect cause of Edgar’s emotional turmoil, instead she did a few stretches while she waited. While she was out of practice some things you did not loose after a lifetime of ballet.
