Open Y51 Ilvermorny Quidditch Tryouts

Briony had been rather surprised that she had been given the spot of quidditch captain at such a young age and after having only been on the team a year. Then again, it just proved that she was that good and showcased her commitment to the team. The third year looked at the older students and took a deep breath. She knew there were people likely to be upset by her new leadership position, but she was just going to ignore them.

"Hi everyone, and welcome to Quidditch tryouts. I'm Briony, and I'm your captain this year. I'm excited to see so many people here, and we're going to make this simple. Those already on the team will help out, and if you're new, just tell me your name and what position you'd like to tryout for. Then, show us what you got. Got it?" she said, finishing off her speech.

[Demi Zephyr]

Demi was surprised to see the Captain for the team was so young, but frankly she was just glad for the chance to try out. "Demi Zephyr. I'm trying out for Keeper," she told the younger girl. Demi had played for Ravenclaw before moving here, so she knew what she was doing. Maybe, if this school proved as successful, they'd be able to visit Hogwarts and she'd get the chance to play against the students she'd left. Maybe even some of her friends.

The fifth year jumped on her broom, kicking off and heading for the goal hoops. Taking her usual position this felt as easy as it always had, the familiarity coming back to her in a flash. She kept her eye on the Quaffle at all times, no matter who it was being passed to. Darting left and right, she was quick and speedy, smacking the ball away from the hoops on almost every occasion a Chaser tried to score. The other schools didn't stand a chance.

 

[Echolyn Zephyr]

Back at Hogwarts, Echo had been in a different house to her siblings and would never have gotten the chance to play alongside any of them. At Ilvermorny though, things were different. It was a shame about Ares, given everything the family had been through over the last year, but maybe this was going to be the turning point. Echo watched as her older sister took to the skies, playing the role she had before, and she wasn't the only Zephyr to do so. "Echolyn Zephyr, I want to try out for Chaser." Sure, she hadn't played for as long as Demi had, but Quidditch had been one of the only things she'd cared about when she was at Hogwarts.

Tucking the Quaffle under her arm the moment she was in the air, she knew it was Demi she was going to have to score against. It was tough, her sister kept blocking her shots no matter how much she was darting around the fifth year. That was, until she managed to catch her off guard, feigning the direction she was flying in. Only then did she grin as the Quaffle flew straight through the left hoop. At the end of the tryouts, Echo thanked the Captain, hoping that the others that tried out for the same position didn't mind that an outsider wanted to join them.

 

[Amias Driscoll]

Amias walked on to the pitch for the try-outs. He was eager to get in the air, so flew up when he could. Flying and quidditch were his favourite things.

 

[Mason Phillips]

Mason flew up in the air without a second thought and got to work. He hit as many bludgers as he could find, while also practising from defending shots, making sure that some of the bludgers didn't hit players. He managed to get a few hits on players as well.
