It felt like the yule ball had only been yesterday, but here Matt was, preparing for the Valentine’s Dance. He had put up a lot of decorations, as he had always loved Valentine’s dance. Even as an awkward teen who barely ever had a date, he had appreciated the romance of it all. The room was decorated in light colors, white and pastel pinks. Pink roses were everywhere, a canopy high above covered in them dropping petals that floated gently down before disappearing. There were also jars with little candles everywhere, floating through the air. The sky above was filled with soft clouds, stars occasionally peeking through. This year, Matt had also added floating heart balloons that bobbed around in the air over the students. It seemed to add to the mood. They occasionally moved together to form a big 50 in the air.
There were plenty of sweet snacks as well as fountains of several different fruit-flavored punches. Around the dance floor were a bunch of small wooden tables for two, covered in lace tablecloths and flowers where couples could sit and chat. Matt started the event by greeting everyone before he started the slow music. He smiled and gestured to the dance floor, where the first few rose petals floated down, hoping everyone would enjoy the night.
