Y46 Ilvermorny Try-Outs

[Zoey Hawkins]

Zoey felt tense as she got ready for this year's tryouts. After last year's less than stellar performance she wasn't feeling confident on their odds this year. But most of the team should be returning this year so maybe they could finally make some progress. Quidditch was one of the only things she had here at this school and for once she was almost willing to ask her parents to move again just for a change in scenery. But, of course now they seemed pleased to stay put for now. She glanced towards Pearl to check to see if she was ready but as team mates and hopefuls started to arrive she stood up straight to greet them. "Hello everyone, thank you for making it out here today." she said, projecting in a clear voice. "Those returning feel free to get to work and those trying out please tell me your name and what position you will be trying out for." she explained. Zoey glanced down at her list of names from last year. "We're pretty full up but alternates are an important part of the team, especially once bludgers start flying." she said. "Good luck everyone, I hope to see your best." When she was done she blew her whistle and players took to the air.

[Melrose Miller]

Despite having managed to somehow secure a spot on the team last year, Melrose still felt on the spot as he joined the team out on the pitch. Being a Quidditch player seemed to have mostly appeased his family but Mel couldn't shake the feeling that everyone would have been happier if he had bit the bullet and tried out for Quadpot. At least no one on the Quidditch team was trying to blow him up he figured, listening and Zoey addressed the team and any new members, grimacing at the mention of bludgers.

He got into the air regardless, taking it slow to start and warm up so he wouldn't do something super embarrassing like drop the quaffle in front of the captains and the new members and end up somehow bumped down to alternate. It would be just his luck. Melrose was content to sit back and let the new people do the hard work, passing as much as he could and trying to avoid missing too many goals especially if Pearl was looking.

 

[Pearl Parra]

Pearl was very eager to see who would try-out this year. Though Pearl had let the other girl be the lead for this occasion, deciding that she didn't need to be. Instead she could just hang back and see how things played out. Hang back from the air of course, taking notes on the different people trying out.

 

[Nabi Mun]

Nabi was happy to return to Quidditch and was eager to see how the tryouts would go. The team would likely mostly stay the same, but Nabi was still hopeful they could get a few good alternates into the mix. She took to the air and looked around, deciding to treat this as a practice.

 

[Ocean Keeley]

Ocean was more than happy to get back to another year of playing quidditch. She listened to what Zoey had to say and got up into the air when she had finished. With the team packed this was just like a training session in a way. Only with a few extra kids flying around.

 

[Larissa Baros]

Larissa Baros really enjoyed Quidditch on a personal level. She could hardly get enough of it. And she was so glad that she did not play for Hogwarts. She liked the unity of the houses more than separate houses. She arrived to the Quidditch pitch with her broom in hand. She heard one of the captains talk, and went up in the air and helped out with practicing. She was just glad to be back in the air with a bat in her hand.​

 

[Hadrian Murphy]

Hadrian was looking forward to another year of Quidditch, all he hoped was that he'd improve a bit since he still wouldn't have considered himself to be a very good player. He just had to try harder and be good enough to reclaim his spot, so he could practice more and improve. He found himself hanging with Melrose mostly in the team, due to being the one other guy. Not that there was anything wrong with the girls, they were cool if a bit scary, though he kind of wanted some other guys to join so he wouldn't feel quite so...outnumbered. He made sure to work with others trying out for chaser, throwing, passing, and taking a few shots of his own. Some of them actually went in, which was a positive start.
