Micha was still a little shocked that they had managed to win against Beauxbatons. It was hard not to think it was because of Abigail. Did they really need him as captain after this? Maybe not but the game against New Zealand would be the real test and that date was fast approaching. They had just gotten back to school after their winter break. It was still freezing in Massachusetts but the sun was out today even if it wasn't doing much to warm them. He blew his whistle to get everyone's attention. "Alright everybody, there's no time to waste. Our game against Hogwarts New Zealand is just around the corner and we have to be ready." he said trying to sound stern but he involuntarily shivered as a gust of wind blew by, which didn't help his image. "We can't let ourselves get too confident just because we won one game. So everyone get up there and lets put in the work!" he said and clapped his heads together. "You all know what to do, lets go!"

Felicity wrapped her arms around herself tightly as Micha addressed the team, trying to look positive and excited to be playing and not miserable and freezing. She wasn't built for this weather and she missed California the most after coming back from Winter break. At least she'd enchanted her gloves to keep her fingers warm for practice which would hopefully help her keep a good hold of her broom and bat as she shot into the cold air.

Dion was used to the cold, but it didn't mean he liked it. At least in New Zealand it would be more summery...if only they were playing in Australia and could go to one of the beaches. He could almost see it and certainly not just the bikinis now. But they were there to play, so he mounted up and started flying, swinging his bat aimlessly more to get the blood running through his arms.

Micha took to the air shorty after the rest of the team and started to look for the snitch.

Zoey had her arms wrapped tightly around herself as she waited for practice to start. They had one their last game, not thanks to her, and there was a small chance she might actually get some time in the air next time. She grabbed her bat and took to the air, eager to prove herself even if there were no bludgers in sight.

Felicity grimaced in the cold air, trying to drum up the courage to start going for bludgers or speed up instead of just staying hunched on her broom for warmth.

Dion swung wide, not actually near a bludger mostly just trying to work on looking impressive as a beater. It was slightly betrayed by a shudder at the cold.

Zoey sighed and flew a little faster when she still couldn't find any bludgers.

Felicity had started a half-hearted chase after one of the bludgers, letting out an annoyed whine when a cold gust of air blew both her and the bludger off course and she couldn't catch up.

Dion chased after a bludger, practically pantomiming being hard at work even though he was mostly focused on the cold.

Micha blew some warm air into his fingers in an attempt to warm them up. If he spotted the snitch he didn't want stiff finger to get in the way.

Zoey finally spotted a bludger and swung as hard as she could but let out an annoyed huff when her shot went wide and didn't hit a thing.

Dion swung his bat at a bludger and let out a groan of annoyance as it spun pathetically away from any teammates.

Felicity was glad her warming charm had worked on her gloves but short of wrapping a scarf around her entire head she was going to have to try and work out how to fly while her face and nose were freezing too. "This sucks," she announced petulantly, taking a half-hearted swing at a bludger and not even coming close.

Dion went to hit a bludger, but his arm seized up and he couldn't swing nearly as smoothly as he would've liked. That was his excuse, and he was sticking to it. "Aye, it's cr*p," he agreed quietly in response to Felicity's disapproval.

Noah hopped onto his broom and grabbed the quaffle.

Micha kept looking for the snitch. He was getting a little anxious but it was still early.

Zoey's frown felt frozen on her face and it wasn't just because of the cold. But at least the older beaters were also having trouble it seemed.

Trying to ignore the cold and avoid any rogue bludger Noah headed for the hoops and threw the quaffle through.

Flick was glad she wasn't the only person miserable out there, giving Gwydion a bright smile. "Thank you, right? I'm going to have to invest in a heated broom or something next year," she groused.

Micha kept looking for the snitch.

Taylor let her bat fall uselessly to her side as no bludgers appeared. It wasn't like she was using it much anyways.

Noah caught the quaffle again when it was thrown back out and made off with it.

Despite the cold, and despite his lack of success, he was able to give a small smile anyway. "Sounds like a plan. Think we can ask our delightful captain to pay for 'em if we win?"
