Eli could not think of a worse co-captain to have than Adam, and he quietly cursed Dominic for saddling him with the other boy as they prepared for tryouts. Adam was still determined to make a whole new team, as if they didn't need people who had some experience. Eli wondered if he was really that dumb or just trying to be contrary. Personally, Eli wasn't really the sort of person who wanted to be in leadership roles like this, as he preferred staying in the background and simply adding some scathing commentary once in a while, but he couldn't do that with Adam. Not unless he wanted the other boy to run the team like a dictator.

Which was why Eli spoke first when the team had arrived. He didn't even look at Adam as he started. "Tryouts are the same as usual. If you were on the team, you have a spot. If you were an alternate, you have to try out again." He said with a slight frown. "Say what you want to play before starting. And your name." He added, then he gestured for them to get started.

Adam was still fuming about the fact that Dominic had the gall to stick him with babysitting duty over Eli. He could have managed the team on his own, and the team would have been better off for it. Carter’s resistance to starting fresh was irritating, as if he were purposefully ignoring how abysmal half the team was. Adam’s friends wouldn’t have been anywhere near as incompetent if he’d been able to bring them into the fold.

The captain folded his arms, looking down his nose at his helper co-captain. When everyone arrived, he took a step forward, opening his mouth to speak, but was cut off by Carter having the audacity to take charge. He glowered at the other boy before speaking up himself. ”Making the team won’t mean you’ll get to keep your spot for the rest of the year. Remember who your captain is. There’s a reason we have alternates. If you want to act up, or you aren’t putting in the effort, you’re out of here.” He warned, stepping back to cross his arms again, his shaded gaze directed toward particular teammates.

Hyun was not surprised when he arrived for the try-out to see Adam acting just as he thought he would. Like he was some sort of God. Though it was nice to see that Eli was trying to balance things out, Hyun could already tell this was not going to be an easy year. He honestly wouldn't be surprised if people ended up quitting or deciding not to even try-out just so they didn't have to deal with Adam trying to rule the team like it was some sort of dictatorship. Even it was only going to be one year before he graduated and no one would have to put up with him anymore.

"Hyun. Chaser," that was all he said on the matter, giving Adam an almost dirty look as he swung a leg over his broom and kicked off. No matter what the pr**k said about things, it just didn't work that way. He might be co-captain, but that didn't mean he could just kick people off the team if he didn't happen to like them very much. But he did simply try and focus on putting on a good try-out, making some nice shots as he flew around making sure to include the other chasers with some passing as well.

Micha was stoked to finally be trying out for the quidditch team. He had a great time watching the game last year and had been itching to try out now that he was in second year and actually allowed to try out. He arrived at the quidditch pitch early and hovered around trying to see if any of the older students would talk to him. He didn’t have much luck but he didn’t have to wait too long for try-outs to get started. He did look curiously at one of the co-captains who seemed to threaten them? “Hi! My name is Micha Kovac and I am trying out for seeker.” he said brightly before kicking off and into the air. He knew this was probably going to be a waiting game so he stopped once got high enough and kept his eyes peeled. Micha always thought that expression was a bit gross but he couldn’t think of anything more accurate. He thought he saw something moved to his right and went after it. It was the snitch but he lost after a few moments. He let out a frustrated sigh and made a loop around the pitch. It felt like only a second later the snitch rushed past his face and he wasted no time going after it. He was close behind it and laid on the speed just a little bit and reached out and grabbed it. Micha let out a breath he hadn’t even noticed he had been holding as he held up the snitch. “WOO! I got one!” he shouted and showed it to anyone around him who would listen. The try outs didn’t end there unfortunately, but he managed to catch the snitch one more before it was finally called. He was tired but excited. It had been everything he had wanted and couldn’t wait to see if he had made the team.

Hope could not believe when she heard the news about the two new co-captains. She wasn't sure if she would like to continue under their command. But she tried to see things more positive again, having an good break to think things through. Things could not be more worse, so she had nothing to lose. And decided to continue with quidditch, one more year to be better. When she spotted AJ she smiled at him, she was glad they were still together and could support eachother. He had helped her at least with trying to feel better again. She didn't said any word against one of the two captains and mounted her broom to circle some laps and train an bit. She felt bad when an person trying out had catched the snitch already. Hopefully she would do better this year.

Lucas was nervous, but he had decided at the last moment that he would go. It felt so odd, being so tall. He gravitated automatically a little closer to Hyun, heart dropping more and more as he realized Einar really wasn't coming. He sighed heavily, not stepping forward when it was his turn. He had shot up so much he was now taller than most everyone else on the team. To his surprise, Adam didn't even seem all that scary anymore, either. Lucas didn't need to wonder why the other boy had always intimidated him, but he knew that he no longer cared. At least there was that relief. "Lucas Ames. Chaser," He spoke plainly, looking curiously to the two captains. Eli was probably the only reason he'd gotten back to the team. He could only wonder if Adam would force him to go. He took off in the air, working with Hyun and the new chasers to make sure they were doing well. He made a few goals himself. He knew already he would need a little extra practice between training to make sure he was properly adjusted to his longer limbs.

Having Eli and Adam as captains this year was going to be an interesting way for AJ to finish out his quidditch career, to say the least. But like he'd said to Hope last year, this was their last year, it wasn't like they had anything to lose. Well, besides a few more games.

Joining the rest of the team as try-outs began, AJ ducked his head some when Hope smiled at him, giving her a quick little wave in return before trying to focus on what Eli and Adam were saying. It was almost reassuring to find that they were both behaving about as expected, though Eli was perhaps a bit more professional, but that might just have been in contrast to Adam's empty threats. Once try-outs started in earnest, AJ kicked off, taking a few laps to warm up and get used to being back in the air again before he went for any bludgers. He wasn't expecting to end this year with a championship or anything, but at least one win would be nice.

Abigail hadn't really thought the Quidditch team could be the thing for her, until she heard they would play against the French team and would maybe travel to France to do so. She had always enjoyed flying, but the sport itself wasn't the most glamorous thing. Still, she also knew Adam Everett was the captain, and she of course knew about him. She had admired him from afar quite a bit, and the idea that he'd soon be her captain was pretty interesting. Though she obviously couldn't show that she cared. She made sure not to look too much at him even as she waited for her turn. Then, when it was her turn, she smiled at him, ignoring the boring other captain whose name she had already forgotten. She stood up straight and introduced herself with a confident smile. "I'm Abigail Martin and I'll be your new chaser." She said, tossing back her hair before getting on her broom. She took to the air and smiled as she grabbed the quaffle, tucking it tightly under her arm. She dodged and swerved past a few people, ducking under a few other players and keeping the quaffle close. She managed to get close to the hoops and scored with a flourish, grinning at her victory. She flew around afterwards, trying to get her hands on the quaffle again. She managed after a bit, but didn't make the next shot. Abigail was determined to end the practice on a good note, and she worked hard to score again. This time, she managed it. And then a final time as well. With three scores and one miss, Abigail was fairly confident about her chances. She flew down and got off her broom smoothly, smiling as she took her seat on the bench nearby to watch the other practices with a critical eye.

Trying out for the school Quidditch team had been a last-minute decision for Jacinta. Quadpot had been the sport of choice in her mind, the thrill of playing with a ball that could explode at any given moment, but after watching a couple of the Quidditch games, she'd quickly felt drawn to it instead. The beater position, specifically, looked like a lot of fun. She simply had to give it a go. If she didn't end up enjoying it as much herself, she figured she could try out for the other team next year instead. She trod onto the pitch, ignoring how intimidating it was to be surrounded by so many older players, and picked up a beaters bat. "Jacinta Macias. I'm giving beater a shot." She informed the two captains. She kicked off the pitch and took to the air, taking a moment to steady herself. She'd done okay in flying lessons, and practiced when she could outside of them, but ascending into the sky was still tricky. She steered the broom with one hand and raised the bat with her air, waiting for a bludger to come within range. She missed her first shot. And her second. Practicing with an actual bludger hadn't been something Jacinta had been able to do in the times she could practice, and she was regretting not finding a substitute. She accelerated after one, and finally landed a hit, watching with a pleased smile when it rocketed away. They were heavier than she imagined. Her aim had not been great, and she opted to tail another player trying out too, finding she had an easier time defending than she did actually hitting anyone. It all came with practice, she told herself. She landed after a while, not too displeased with her first real attempt.

Yoo Hyun Ki was trying to adjust to his new school in this new country, he liked the school, it was different to what he was used to, but it was no less nice. He was nervous to join the school as a second year, but it wouldn't be that bad. Part of it was deciding to go to the try-outs. He hadn't played quidditch before, he'd flown and he'd learnt how to fly but he had never played before. He wasn't sure it was a smart idea but he needed to meet people, it would be important to make friends and sports teams were a way to make friends. So here he found himself. The team had a scattering of people, some older, a few his age. He listened as the team captains spoke and he wasn't sure he liked the second of the two, but his opinion on team captains was not of a matter when he was a much younger player. He stepped forward when there was an opening for him to and he gave them both a polite smile, "Yoo Hyun Ki, Keeper," he said to them. Keeper was a position he could do. he'd played football before and always be in goal. So he was sure that this would be the same.

Yoo shot up into the air and got to the hoops. He was hovering at the hoops and began guarding them. he remained steady on his broom, flying good and not too much. He blocked a few shots from getting in but few others managed to get in. He was good at throwing the ball back out, but did at times stumble with the ball as he caught it. But he got better as the try-out went on. He got more confident in his catching and quicker to switch hoops. Eventually the try-out came to an end and he flew down to the ground and waited to hear.
