Dominic ran through his mental check list as he made sure everything was ready for practice. It was his first time running practice alone and he was a little nervous about how today would go. He hoped everything would go smoothly and that all the tension of last year's season could be forgotten. Not only for his sake but for all the the new members of the team as well. He didn't want they to realize just how bad their issues with team work went. "Welcome everyone!" Dominic announced as the first few members of the team started to arrive. He smiled and committed himself to remaining optimistic, they would have a good practice and win their game against Beauxbatons. "Alright! Let's get started!" he called out and clapped his hands to get everyone's attention as they arrived. "I'm assuming everyone knows what they're supposed to be doing. Beaters, practice your aim. Chasers, lets practice passing and getting past our illustrious keeper." he said and rolled his eyes. "And seekers, find that snitch." he said with a smile. "Let's go!"

[AJ Ari]

AJ sometimes still wondered how enjoyed Quidditch after how badly last year had gone, but, as he walked onto the pitch for practice, he figured at least things couldn't get any worse. Maybe if Dominic named Adam and Eli captains after he graduated he'd reconsider. But for now, AJ was eager to get back into the air and try to knock the dust off that he was sure had built up in the off season. He stretched a bit as Dominic greeted everyone, giving a nod when he was instructed to work on his aim, before kicking off into the air, ready to hunt down some bludgers.

 

[Einar Haines]

Einar reached the quidditch pitch and flew up into the air quickly. he grabbed the ball and headed towards the hoops.

 

[Eli Carter]

Eli was glad he was finally a real part of the team, and he knew he had to prove himself. He flew up immediately and chased a bludger.

 

[Hyun Ong Hae]

It felt good to be playing quidditch again, Hyun grinned as he kicked off into the sky and immediately set off after Einar as the other fourth year took possession of the quaffle.

 

[Adam Everett]

Adam smirked at the peasants players closest to him after the captains comment, genuinely taking it as a compliment. "I'll try to go easy on everyone." He said, before taking off to the sky to guard his hoops.

 

[Eli Carter]

Eli couldn't help himself, the moment his bat made contact with a bludger, he tried to aim for Adam. He couldn't help wanting to smack that cocky grin off his face. He grinned when he saw the bludger make contact with the keeper, but then quickly returned to his usual stoic expression as he flew off before Adam could yell at him too much.

[Lucas Ames]

Lucas was nervous about coming back to Quidditch; he was almost sure if Adam and Eli didn't kill each other they might kill him instead. Or Einar would get in their way and he'd go down first. Lucas didn't like that thought, either. He smiled at Dominic shyly, sure that really Dominic was the only person on the team besides Einar that didn't make Lucas nervous. He took off in the air with the others, hanging back a bit as he wasn't ready to try and face off with Adam again just yet.

 

[Einar Haines]

As soon as Einar was close enough to the hoops he threw the ball, groaning softly as he missed.

 

[AJ Ari]

For some reason, AJ was more wary of Eli than normal now that he was officially part of the team. He knew it didn't make any difference, considering they'd practiced together, but it felt more weighted now. AJ might have had good reason, he noted, as Eli managed to almost immediately knock a bludger right into Adam. AJ winced, but chased after the bludger as it swung away from the keeper to try and knock it somewhere else.

 

[Zeke Carnahan]

Zeke was soooo ready for today. He knew he was just an alternate, but that hardly mattered. He was up at dawn, taking a lap around the castle before showering and getting breakfast. After a good meal, he was ready to head to the pitch. He had never gotten to really play with a lot of people, and he was eager to be part of a team. He winked at Dominic before taking off into the air. He watched the others a bit as he flew around, wanting to see how they interacted.

The keeper seemed a bit full of himself, and one of the other beaters seemed pleased to try and knock the keeper down. The other beater looked softer, and the chasers- one was small and angry looking, with a little shadow that liked to trail behind him. That was interesting, every time the angry one moved the little shadow would move in response. He couldn't read much on the other chaser yet, but that was alright. Zeke would figure him out. He was circling idly for now, but he would join in soon enough.

 

[Adam Everett]

Eli bloody Carter. Adam should have known he'd pull a stunt like this. He tried to avoid the bludger that the brute sent his way, but felt it collide roughly with his shoulder. He let out a yelp, rubbing at the spot with a dark scowl. He opened his mouth to shout a tirade of insults, but Einar approached, and he quickly ducked into the way to save the goal. "Come on, snowflake. You can do better than that. I said I was going easy on you. Should I go even easier?" He called, tossing the quaffle back into play.

 

[Lucas Ames]

Lucas winced as Einar missed, but didn't attempt to get the quaffle, letting the others have at it instead. He was still a bit nervous about really getting into the game yet.

 

[Eli Carter]

Eli couldn't help be amused at Adam's reaction to being hit. He flew closer again, in time to hear him mock Einar. "You'd probably be a decent player if you didn't love hearing yourself talk so much." He threw back at Adam, then he tried to hit a bludger his way again but missed. So what if he'd already hit Adam? It clearly hadn't taught him anything.

 

[Zeke Carnahan]

Well, red and the pretty boy really were out to kill each other. Zeke kept to the outskirts, watching a bludger that was coming closer and adjusting his grip on his bat, calculating who he'd try to hit. One of the older players, maybe, or the angry blond. The tiny shadow might break if he was smacked- but that also kind of made Zeke want to smack him, see what happened.

 

[AJ Ari]

Maybe it was AJ's imagination, but he could have sworn that Adam and Eli's relationship had gotten worse somehow. He was also trying to keep an eye on their new alt beater, but it was hard to focus on everyone and get a good hit on a bludger.

 

[Hyun Ong Hae]

He couldn't imagine he was the only one who suddenly wanted the keeper to get smacked off his broom. But he supposed, without a bat in his hand, he was just going to have to settle for trying to score on him instead. So, with that in mind, Hyun was quick to make a grab for the quaffle after the previous miss and head back towards the hoops.

 

[Adam Everett]

Adam shot Eli a glare. "Coming from the guy who wasn't good enough to be on the real team until now. Go back to the sidelines. Someone has to keep those benches warm." He spat back. He was a flawless keeper, likely the best the school had ever seen, in his opinion, though it was times like this he would have loved to have been a, no doubt equally flawless beater instead.

 

[Hope Thompson]

Hope was hoping for an good practice, she could use it all. She didn't want to dissapoint her team more than she had before. Her name was Hope and she didn't lose easily the hope, but after losing twice against the French time the brunette hoped this year would be theirs. She joined the team on the pitch and smiled. When they began the girl quickly shot into the air and started her search for the snitch.

 

[Eli Carter]

"Good enough to hit you." Eli commented to Adam before flying off after another bludger. He was glad the practice had started out on such a good note, he could hold this against Adam for a good while.

 

[Zeke Carnahan]

After careful consideration, Zeke decided it would be better to try and hit the keeper again. He seemed like he needed a good wallop. Unfortunately, the bludger he slapped had other ideas, and went spiralling straight into the little pipsqueak instead. Oops. @Lucas Ames

 

[Lucas Ames]

Lucas was hovering near the back, watching and wanting to be good support. He didn't even see the bludger until it slammed into his side. He cried out in surprise and pain, straightening his broom again before clutching his side and trying not to cry. He took a deep breath and tried to go back to the game.

 

[AJ Ari]

AJ was trying not to let it get to him that both Eli and the new guy, Zeke had hit someone already. Though he had a feeling Eli was fueled by spite at this point so he couldn't completely compare himself to that. Trying not to think on it too hard, AJ smacked a nearby bludger, watching it zip across the pitch and past the other players.

 

[Hope Thompson]

Hope flew to the left side of the pitch searching for any sign of the golddn snitch. Hopefully she would find it quickly this practice.

 

[Eli Carter]

Eli chased after the bludger and tried to hit it, but he missed. Frowning, he kept following it.
