Y37 Duelling Match #12

[Professor Matt Alcott-Ward]

Matt had surprised himself by agreeing to help out during the duelling tournament. He wasn't a very big duelist himself, but he had often enjoyed watching the duels. Once the two competitors seemed to be ready for the duel to begin, Matt pointed them to their places before speaking to them. "Welcome to your first round of duelling. The victor of this duel will be able to go on to the next round." Matt said. "If you break the rules, you'll be disqualified. Once you're unable to duel, you've lost." He explained. "When you're ready, bow to your opponent and get started." Matt said, stepping back to let the duel begin.

The duel begins now. You have 24 hours to post, or face disqualification. Ensure that you use the spell list for guidance on age-appropriate spells, and read over the dueling rules and points system. If you are knocked out or otherwise disarmed/incapacitated, or if you run out of points, you will lose and the duel will end. Have fun!
As an added note: Spectators are allowed to post in this topic once per competitors post, but are forbidden from directly interfering with the duels.

Michael was excited to participate in his first dueling tournament. It hadn't been such a regular occurence at his old school, and he had never felt the desire to participate until now. All the students here were very competitive, and in reality, Michael just wanted to have fun. He bowed after the professor gave instructions and then point his wand at Daintree, shooting a Babbling Curse towards his opponent.

Daintree bowed to the opponent, he was pretty sure this boy was new but he wouldn't mind being able to go up against him. He blocked the first curse as it came towards him and then fired back with "Obscuro,"

Michael was not alarmed with the fancy spell thrown at him. "Protego," he said as he blocked himself and thought quickly about which curse to throw next. "Stupefy!" he shot back, hoping to quickly knock out his opponent.

[Kasim Safir]

The duelling tournament was always interesting in the way that any chance to watch people hex each other silly was, but Kas was a bit more invested in today's match. He honestly had no idea how good of a duelist Michael was, but he did hope this didn't end up with him covered in boils or out cold on the floor if he could help it. At least Michael got the first spell cast, and Kas stood on his tiptoes a bit to see over the crowd and not miss what else was happening as the duel continued.

Michael had been daydreaming for a moment when he saw Daintree shoot a curse back at him. Blocking it, he sent a slug vomiting curse towards the Slytherin, hoping this round would sluggishly drag on.
