Y35 Duelling Match #5

[Robert Kain]

Professor Kain was looking forward to seeing how the students got on with their duelling. As one of the Charms professors he took pride in seeing the spells in use, and watching some of his own students practise with one another. He welcomed the next two students to their positions, taking his own at the front of the room “Once you have bowed, you may begin,” he said, giving them the go ahead to begin their duel, and keeping an eye on the event from afar. ​

Out of Character:

The duel begins now. You have 24 hours to post, or face disqualification. Ensure that you use the spell list for guidance on age-appropriate spells, and read over the dueling rules and points system. If you are knocked out or otherwise disarmed/incapacitated, or if you run out of points, you will lose and the duel will end. Have fun!
As an added note: Spectators are allowed to post in this topic once per competitors post, but are forbidden from directly interfering with the duels.

Padme had been looking for an outlet to get rid of her anger and this seemed like the right place. She looked towards the professor as he told them what they were to do and Padme did that. Bowing to the girl she knew was one of the accio members. She smiled at her despite wanting to definitely take this seriously. She gripped her wand tightly and then said, "Furnunculus,"

Aisa had been surprised last year by how much she had enjoyed the duels. So she was excited for this year too. She knew the girl that she was fighting was from Hufflepuff, and gave her a bow. She had dueled her last year too, and had won. Hopefully, she could repeat that. She blocked the girl's spell. "Incendio." She cast, hoping to catch her off guard.

Padme had been beaten by Aisa before, but it didn't disaude her from this fight, she couldn't say if she'd win this time around, and though she'd signed up to vent some of her frustration she knew that the fight would be fun too. She dodged the spell that her opponent sent to her and then hit back with a trip jinx

Aisa jumped out of the way of the girl's jinx, landing firmly with two feet on the stage. "Stupefy!" She called, throwing a spell at her quickly in an attempt to catch her off guard.

Padme seemed to take this very seriously, which Aisa did as well. She quickly managed to block the Hufflepuff's next spell, then cast one of her own. She chose a Jelly Fingers curse, in an attempt to make the other girl drop her wand.

Padme was realising she really needed to work on her speed. She dodged out the way again, that she really needed to work on her speed. She just wasn't as quick as she wanted to be, and then just was rushing to send back, "Expelliarmus,"

Aisa smiled slightly as she noticed Padme had to dodge, and she had enough time to set up a shield charm to block her disarming spell. Aisa figured it was smart to just use spells that would knock Padme out or make her lose her wand, and she cast one she had already used. "Stupefy!"

Padme put up a quick shield to stop the spell from hitting her. She followed this with an "Incendio," she knew it was a spell that Aisa had already used but there was no harm in having spells twice.

The other girl used a spell Aisa had used before, but it was still a little alarming. She blocked it quickly, then scrambled to think of something new. "Petrificus Totalus!"

Padme went to dodge out of the way of the spell as it came towards her, but was a moment too late, the spell struck and she was completely frozen. She hated that she'd lost, and lost once again to Aisa but she was clearly the better duellist.

Professor Kain was watching his third years carefully, and as soon as he spotted Padme miss the incoming spell from Aisa he put up a hand. "Time!" The charms Professor jumped to the stage, confirming what had happened, firing a spell of his own at the Hufflepuff to release her. "Alright there Hume?" he asked, knowing that was never a pleasant one to be hit with. He turned to the Gryffindor in turn, "Congratulations Aisa, you're through to round two." he announced with a nod to the girl, proud of how well they'd done today. ​
