Y35 Duelling Match #19

[Robert Kain]

Professor Kain was looking forward to seeing how the students got on with their duelling. As one of the Charms professors he took pride in seeing the spells in use, and watching some of his own students practise with one another. He welcomed the next two students to their positions, taking his own at the front of the room “Once you have bowed, you may begin,” he said, giving them the go ahead to begin their duel, and keeping an eye on the event from afar. ​

Out of Character:

The duel begins now. You have 24 hours to post, or face disqualification. Ensure that you use the spell list for guidance on age-appropriate spells, and read over the dueling rules and points system. If you are knocked out or otherwise disarmed/incapacitated, or if you run out of points, you will lose and the duel will end. Have fun!
As an added note: Spectators are allowed to post in this topic once per competitors post, but are forbidden from directly interfering with the duels.

Sully had been pretty bummed he had to sit out in the first round, even if it meant that he automatically made it through to the second. He hadn't done very well last year, but it had been a lot of fun, so Sully was itching to get started. Bowing to Chloe, he wasted no time sending off his first spell. "Rictusempra!"

The fact that Chloe had won her duel in the first round made her more confident for this next one. She hoped it wouldn’t be as annoying as that last one. She knew Solomon from class, and she didn’t mind him. Who knew, maybe it would turn out to be fun. She took to the stage and bowed back to him. She wasn’t quick enough however as he cast the first spell. "Protego. Locomotor Mortis!"

Sully laughed as he barely managed to get his shield charm up in time to block Chloe's spell. He knew duels were supposed to be more serious and dangerous than he probably took them, but to him it just felt like when he and Amy had messed around lobbing a football at each other with magic. Taking a moment to think, Sully decided to try out an Antler jinx next.

Chloe raised an eyebrow when Solomon laughed, she was relieved to know that it could be more fun this time. Last one hadn’t gone so well in that department. It had been a little too serious with too many annoyances. Him taking his time gave Chloe enough time to deflect the spell, and she did so, before she fired the jelly fingers curse at Solomon.

Sully managed to dodge out of the way of Chloe's next spell, employing a little rugby sidestep with a quiet cheer as the spell sailed past. Raising his on wand in what he hoped looked like a way, Sully sent off his own spell, remembering how effective it'd been against him last year. "Tarantallegra!"
