Professor Kain was looking forward to seeing how the students got on with their duelling. As one of the Charms professors he took pride in seeing the spells in use, and watching some of his own students practise with one another. He welcomed the next two students to their positions, taking his own at the front of the room “Once you have bowed, you may begin,” he said, giving them the go ahead to begin their duel, and keeping an eye on the event from afar.
The duel begins now. You have 24 hours to post, or face disqualification. Ensure that you use the spell list for guidance on age-appropriate spells, and read over the dueling rules and points system. If you are knocked out or otherwise disarmed/incapacitated, or if you run out of points, you will lose and the duel will end. Have fun!
As an added note: Spectators are allowed to post in this topic once per competitors post, but are forbidden from directly interfering with the duels.

Jasper had won for his year group last year when duelling, and was eager to prove himself again. He had hoped he would be dueling Blake or Tyler, as he would have loved to beat one of them. But instead, he was facing Sierra. A friend, who he was a bit confused by ever since they kissed. But that wasn't going to influence this duel. "You're gonna lose!" He called to her. "Sorry! Rictusempra!"

Sierra wasn't really sure what to expect from the duels. She wasn't even that good of a dueler, but watching it the previous year, it had looked like fun! She waved at Jasper when he greeted her, pulling her tongue when he said she was going to lose. But he sent a spell towards her before she was even ready, so she quickly jumped out of the way. "Wow! Um - Stupefy!"

Jasper grinned when Sierra nearly got hit by the spell. It was clear she wasn't very used to this, and he decided to tease her. He stuck out his tongue at her in return. "You have a spell for that!" He called to her, then showed it off by using the protego spell to block her stunning charm. He then sent a trip jinx her way with a grin.

"What?!" Sierra replied, watching Jasper using the shield charm. "Oooh..." She said, before Jasper sent another spell at her. Sierra couldn't remember how to do the spell in time, as his jinx hit her and she fell to the floor. "Ouch!" She yelled as she landed, then laughed, before sending the Antler Jinx back at her friend.

Jasper felt a little bad when Sierra was hit by the trip jinx, but also was a bit annoyed with himself for not using something better so she would have lost. He blocked her spell, then tried to cast another one fast before she had a chance to get to her feet. "Expellliarmus!"

Sierra started to get to her feet, which was not always an easy task, before she felt another spell hit and her wand went flying from her hand. "Hey!" She called out, looking at the Professor. "Does that mean I lost?"

Professor Kain began to clap when Jasper disarmed his opponent. It was a good example of thinking quickly on his feet. “‘Fraid so Sierra. Jasper wins!” He announced, retrieving the girls wand and handing it back to her. “Well done to both of you though, it was a good duel,” he added, watching for the next pair to take to the stage.
