Fletcher had been shocked to hear she'd been asked to be co captain with Theodore. She wasn't sure she particularly stood out on the team, and while the red head had been playing since her third year, it wasn't as though she was an especially vocal person. The seventh year wanted to try and push herself though, and she was grateful for the chance to do so on her final year here at Beauxbatons, before she would have to return to the depth of her own community who would be waiting for her. As she changed and headed to the pitch, it only now sinking in this would be the last try out session she attended, she greeted her co captain and waited with him for the others to arrive. "Hi everyone," she called out eventually, when she thought enough people were turning out that they should begin. "For those of you who don't know me, my name is Fletcher, and this is Theodore," she announced, one hand gesturing to her side to the blonde. "We will be your captains for the year so if you have any questions you should come to us," she gave a glance to him, wondering if she should just delve straight into it. "If you're already part of the team, welcome back! We did very well last year in defeating Hogwarts and I really hope we can keep up this tradition and show them who the superior school is," she grinned, it was always fun to visit the New Zealand team and win. "we would like you to just keep practising today and to get to know the new players. If you're here to try out though, please introduce yourselves and what role you would like to play, we have a few available at the moment. Do you have anything else to add Theo?" she asked, hoping she hadn't missed anything off the list. "Once you're ready, please head off out into the air, good luck!" Fletcher had seen many players come and go from the team, and she hoped they'd be strong enough to represent their school once more to victory.

OOCOut of Character:

Anyone on the team line up last year (as posted above) can get their spot back by posting in this topic, but don't be discouraged if spots are full. Some people may not return, and we will definitely need plenty of alternates this year!!

If you try out keep a few things in mind:
- If you don't have your OOC name connected to your character, please add it to the post in an OOC note. We'd need to contact you on your main account for announcements and games, since the Beauxbatons side accounts (understandably) don't get checked as often.

- Please keep in mind that this team will only get to play one game, and it won't be for a while. Practices will be very important for the continued existence of the team, as well as building up the characters and activity of the team. Please be active in practices, even with the Quidditch system down. It will make playing on the team a lot more enjoyable, and it will help keep it going for the future years.

- Please make it clear which year your character is in, whether in your tryout post or in your member title. If your member title still reflects the previous year, we ask you to update it for clarity's sake. You may also want to register on the Other Students List as Other Students are not assigned year groups as HNZ students as, in order to keep up with where your character is at.

Bijoux had never seen a reason to approach the school Quidditch team before. She was a decent flier, but she had other things on her mind. Now, though, Bijoux had reason to be curious about Hogwarts, and she only saw one way to get there without her mother catching wind. So, Bijoux had showed up for tryouts, a brand new broom in her hand. "Bijoux Laurent, trying out for Keeper." She said confidently when her turn came, before taking to the sky with a rush of air. She took her place in front of the hoops, remembering the rules she had studied in the holidays, and when Quaffles began flying, Bijoux dove into action. She blocked the first ball with ease, diving to grab the ball gracefully. The second shot that came at her barely slipped past her fingers though, and Bijoux groaned in disappointment. She continued to do her best, focusing on the Quaffle, and by the end of her tryout, Bijoux was pleased to have blocked almost every shot that came her way. She felt confident about her chances, and excited to hopefully join the team. But the real excitement was on the other side of the world, Bijoux knew, and she couldn't wait to get to New Zealand and find the answers she was looking for.

It had taken Mualla the entire summer holidays to convince her parents to let her participate in the tryouts for the school's Quidditch team but that day she left the comfort of her dormitory to head down towards the Quidditch pitch. ''Hi! I'm Mualla Avar and I'll be trying out for Chaser,'' she said and then turned away from the line to get into the air on her new broomstick. Mualla hovered in the air before deciding in which hoop to throw the ball in. Even though the Quaffle passed the Keeper and went through the left hoop, Mualla knew that she needed to do better if she wanted to make the cut. Too slow. She caught the second ball and turned back to the hoops in front of her. Quickly deciding to throw the second one through the left hoop again, Mualla threw it as hard as she could. It went wide and missed the hoop by a metre or two. She groaned. The third ball she threw bounced off the inside of the hoop and went through it. She thought that had missed the fourth Quaffle as she hadn't thrown it very hard but apparently, the Keeper did not manage to grab a hold of it so it slipped their fingers and went through the hoop anyway. A bit more confident, Mualla caught her last Quaffle and without thinking about it too much, threw the ball towards the left hoop again. She cheered as she watched it go through and smiled at the captain who was keeping watch. Hopefully, she had done well enough.

Orélie had never really been that interested in Quidditch. The games were fun to watch, especially once Nadine was on the school team, but she hadn't had much interest in playing herself until Nadine had worn her down by mentioning she actually got to travel on the team too. It helped that both Nadine and hopefully Bijoux would be playing this year too. Orélie couldn't stand it if they were all on the team and she wasn't, so she had to make sure she put on a good show.

"Orélie Manuel, trying for chaser," She announced confidently, swinging onto her broom. Nadine had been giving her tips since she got on the team, and Orélie hoped she could remember some. She wasn't the most athletic, but she could fly and hold a quaffle at the same time. She pulled up by the hoops blowing Bijoux a kiss before hurling the quaffle towards her. "Aw come on, Bibi, let me get one," She groaned as Bijoux blocked her shot and threw the quaffle back out. Orélie shot back out after the ball, weighing up if she should actually try tackling one of other students before spotting a low pass and whipping between the pair instead, snatching the ball and giving a cheer. Maybe this quidditch stuff could be fun after all. She looped back over to the hoops, grabbing the quaffle with both hands to chuck it through the hoops this time, grinning when the extra power from the shot let it sail through the hoops. As the try-out progressed, Orélie got into the groove having fun passing the ball to Simone back and forth, though it was hard to get in shots past Bijoux. Once everything wound down, Orélie touched down and stretched, already feel sore in her arms and legs, but she was glad Nadine had helped talk her into this after all. Hopefully the captain saw fit to put her on the team.

Simone was never one for team sports, and if she was being honest the only reason she went to quidditch games in the first place was to see Nadine play. But when her roommates decided that their brilliant plan for their 5th year was to try out for the quidditch team, she was helpless under the weight of that much peer pressure. Besides she always liked participating more then spectating anyways.

"Hey, I'm Simone Moreau-Chen and I will be trying out for chaser, or really anything." she said with a lazy grin as she leaned on her broom. Simone wasn't really nervous, she had taking to flying quickly in her younger years and it had become one of her favorite things. She took off gracefully and was able to scoop up a quaffle and speed towards the goal. She threw it at the right goal without slowing down and Bijoux managed to barely block it with the tips of her fingers. Simone felt proud and disappointed at the same time as she grinned. She just had to be faster.

She sped around the pitch diving out of the way of other players and making sharp turns that would have knocked others off their broom. She even managed to steal the quaffle a few times when Simone saw her chance. She grabbed a quaffle from a player that was going the opposite direction and dodged her way toward the goals. She raised her arm as if to throw it through the left goal and waited till the last minute as she saw Bijoux move to block the shot. At the last second she changed direction and managed to make it through the middle goal before diving to avoid crashing into the post. She barely hung onto her broom before righting herself with a manic laugh.

Simone was surprised at how much she enjoyed herself. From passing the ball with Orélie and getting competitive with Bijoux since she kept blocking her shots. When she landed, she was breathless and actually looking forward to potential making the team.

Nadine was delighted. After years of telling her friends about the Quidditch team in an attempt to get them to join, they finally were going to try out! She hadn't even really expected all of them to do so, but she was happy about it. She did feel a bit frustrated that they hadn't tried out earlier, despite her trying to convince them all individually, and now were all doing so at once, but she tried not to let it get to her. They would see it was great now, and then she could tell them 'I told you so' for the rest of their school career. Bijoux went for keeper, which meant Nadine and the others had to play against her. Nadine tried to surpress her competitive need to win from her friends, as she knew that they had to look good in tryouts if they wanted to make the team. But she still felt a little huffy every time the quaffle wasn't tossed her way. She couldn't help it. Orélie and Simone played wel together, though Simone did nearly crash into the post. Nadine flew over to help her out, but could see that the girl was having fun. All three of them were. "Told you Quidditch is great!" She yelled in the direction of her friends. Oh, she hoped they would all make the team.

Theodore did not feel prepared to take on the responsibility of captain, but reassurance came in knowing he wouldn't have to do it alone. The young blonde greeted Fletcher with a nervous smile, idly fiddling with the whistle hanging loosely around his neck while they waited for the others to arrive. He only had the older girl to rely on for a year before he was left to his own devices, so he intended on making the most of it while he could. It was a big year this year, with a lot of spaces to fill after so many graduates from the year prior, and he could only hope that they managed to rouse enough interest in the team. Who wouldn't want to be a Quidditch star? Even on a school level, it was the most fun the boy had ever had.

After listening to Fletcher give her speech and ask if he had anything to add, Theodore shook his head. "Um, I think thats it! Just do your best and have a ton of fun while you're at it," He told the group that had gathered, already pleased enough by the turnout. By the looks of it, Nadine had brought some friends, and Theo had to hope they all turned out to be pretty good at the game rather than just there to muck around. He didn't want to get too serious, but if word got out that the team turned into an amateur mess while he was in charge, he'd never be able to play on a real team without feeling embarrassed.

Grace was somehow excited to see who would join their team this year, as she noticed that many people had either graduated or generally left the team and so there would be quite a few vacant spots to fill. She was relieved that she had managed to keep her position for this long, and this time she was determined to give her very best. She wanted Beauxatons to do really well. She headed to the pitch to meet her fellow teammates, squinting as she glanced at the newbies who would be trying out. She listened to the speech, and then when given the signal she mounted her broom and was soon in the air, offering her help to anyone who wanted it.

Quentin had managed to play keeper for the team last year, and it had been amazing to be part of a team and travel to New Zealand, the home of his cousins and friends. This year he was tempted to try a different position, but he was keen to be considered for whatever was needed. He made his way down to the pitch and smiled at a few people he recognised, although there were more new faces than anything. “Um, I’m going to try for Seeker? Although whatever you need,” he knew one of their captains was the seeker too, but it never hurt to have a spare. Mounting his broom he took to the skies, zipping off in search of the golden ball. It took him a little while until he came across it, but once he set it in his sights it couldn’t shake him off until his fist was clasped around it. Once he was satisfied the captains had seen him catch it enough time he returned to the ground to see who else would be joining them.

Amelie had just been transferring to Beauxbatons and left her sisters on Hogwarts New Zealand. She just wanted to see more and this school was closer to home. As the youngest of the triplets her parents were also kind of happy for that. Amelie had been curious for many things but for Quidditch lately too. On Hogwarts she never took the chance of trying out but this time it felt like a new start and something where she wanted to be. Amelie joined the other girls and boys on the field and smiled. The brunette than listened as the captain(s) spoke. The brunette was ready for a try out and had already inside her mind which position she wanted. When it was her turn she smiled bright. '' Bonjour! I'm Amelie Marchand. Trying out for chaser.'' The brunette than explained. When it was time she jumped on her broom and flew into the air quickly. She flew some laps to warm up and than went seeking for the quaffle. When she saw a chance of grabbing it she did it and managed to fly to the three hoops. When she got closer she tried to find her balance and threw the quaffle hard. She saw it going through in the left hoop and smiled. She was kind of good at this? But after trying out some more times it seemed more difficult. She missed a few times and the keeper got it few times too. But that was what a keeper needed to do ofcourse. She didn't gave up and tried again and managed to score a few times too. The times she scored where more than missed, so that was positive Amelie thought. She went back to the ground and felt her shoes touching the grass again and than thanked to captains for their time.

Siobhan sat on the bleachers looking down at the tryouts below. She hadn't decided whether she will tryout or not but over the summer, she thought really hard about it. Siobhan wanted to have some fun because she only has two more year of school and all she did was study to be something or someone. But she remembered that her little sister was here as well and she wanted to be proud of her while she's still here. Standing up from her seat, Siobhan summoned her broom. It was a hand-me-down from her eldest sister who bought a broom just for nothing, Saoirse wasn't even on the school Quidditch team.

The dark haired 6th year marched down the field, ready to tryout to whatever position available.
"Hallo! I'm Siobhan Van Stroodem and I'll be trying out, I guess, for Keeper position." She informed one of the captains of the team. Siobhan fixed her bun first before mounting her broom and kicking off the ground to position herself in front of the goals. Once positioned on the center, the chasers started flying around. Siobhan kept an eye on the three chasers, she knew from watching professional Quidditch that they fake their throw sometimes.

She gripped the broom handle tightly, ready to block their throw but her first block went in and she bit her lip. First impressions are her thing, she never fail to do so but she guess that streak has ended. Instead of being disappointed at herself, she went on to do her tryout. The second attempt was block, barely, by her finger tips. It came a bit late but she caught it. Strands of hair already falling from her bun, she blew some out of her face. Siobhan continued to block the third and the fourth but the fifth attempt got easily and made a pass above her head to the top goal. Tired and yet accomplished something, she was sure she wasn't getting the position. The 6th year ended her tryout and flew down.
"Dank je for giving me the opportunity to tryout. Hope you'll consider." She thanked the captains and a relief of sigh came off her mouth as she walked out of the field.

Amelia hadn't been a big fan of Quidditch when she was younger but recently she had got more into it, so much so she found herself wanting to tryout for the team at her new school. Amelia made her way out onto the quidditch pitch where hopefuls were gathering to tryout. When it was her turn to try Amelia stepped forward. "Amelia Cosgrove trying out for chaser," She announced before climbing on her broom and beginning her tryout. She took the quaffle and made an attempt at goal which missed, significantly missed. Her second just about made it through the left hoop, she was sure the keeper would have made the save. She missed her third, and then her fourth. Amelia was disappointed but she gave her final shot everything she had and it sailed through the middle hoop. She smiled awkwardly at the captain when she returned to the ground. "Thanks for letting me try,"

So it came to her that she had come to a new place, a new school! Jarica had already met many new friends and she was a butterfly! Its beautiful purple color is easy to fit and the girl has always been happy here! Now she is still wondering if any of the applications are appealing, as Jarica was a pretty picky girl and quickly learned everything, just like flying skills. She came to the right place and with a great sense of admiration for the whole neighborhood. Jarica Ashley, Trying out for chaser! The girl was smiling there and she wanted be a part of them all. Thanks for letting me try, i hope that not disappoint you! Now that had been said, all she had to do was wait for her to make it happen.
