Y31 Dueling Match #33

[Jon Phillips]

Jon led the two fourth year students on to the dueling platform and quickly explained the rules to them. He was sure they were aware of what the rules were from their previous round but repeated them anyway to be certain they understood. After that he assigned them different ends of the stage and stepped away, thus allowing their duel to begin.​

Please refer to the spell list for guidance. No board rule breaking is acceptable. Have fun! I have a copy of the code that you should use with every post. Remember, when you are knocked out, unable to shoot anymore spells, you lost. And if you run out of points, you lose.

The duel begins now. If someone doesn't post after 24 hours, they are disqualified.

Gideon felt bad about his last duel with Gilly. He hadn't intended for her to knock herself out, as hilarious as it had been to watch in that moment. It was certainly a different way to lose a duel.

Facing his next opponent, Gideon bowed and shot her a quick grin, before casting his first spell - a jelly fingers curse.

Phoebe was already doing a lot better in this tournament than she had in the last one, and she wanted to continue that streak. She didn't really know her opponent, but he looked familiar to her from classes. She wouldn't feel bad about beating him. She grinned back at him after bowing, and blocked the boy's first spell. She decided to try to intimidate him with her own spell in turn. "Incendio!"

If there was one spell Gideon hated being used against him, it was incendio. Fire was not something he particularly enjoyed seeing racing toward him, nor was he particularly fond of being burned. It really took all the fun out of dueling when he thought about how badly flames could go. The Gryffindor protego'd the spell, shielding himself in time from the searing heat, and quickly fired back with a quick "Tarantellegra!"

Phoebe had a wide grin on her face as she watched the boy having to deal with her spell. It wasn't a nice one to get shot at you, and she hoped it would distract him a little at least. His spell in return was a lot less impressive, in her eyes at least, and she blocked it. Hopefully he was a bit flustered now and would more easily forget to block her next spell. "Stupefy!"

Gideon was flustered from the fire spell that had come his way, and it showed in how slow his reflexes were. The next spell that came his way was one the boy didn't have time to block with a protego. Instead, he jumped aside to avoid the stun, and scrambled to reposition his aim. "Furnunculus!" He incanted, going with the only spell that had come to mind in the moment.
