The next pair set to duel were fourth years. Jon led the students onto the platform before explaining the rules and assigning them different ends of the stage shortly afterwards. When the formalities were over and Jon was confident the students were ready to begin, he stepped away from the platform and allowed their duel to get underway.​

"Gilly, hey!" Gideon began as he realised he'd be up against his friend for the next round, which was a little bit different from his past duels with general classmates. He was glad he was versing her in a duel, rather than a physical fight, given her experience in taekwondo. He didn't really know if using magic would be any easier, but he was looking forward to finding out. This was going to be fun. Bowing to his Slytherin friend, Giddy casted the first spell, sending an antler jinx her way.

Gilly wasn't sure what too sure what to make of having to fight Gideon, he was her only friend in the school, since Norton obviously didn't count. She gave a tight smile, "Hey Gideon," came a strained reply. She bowed to him, but was definitely glad he cast first, she blocked his spell and shot a trip jinx back at him.

This wouldn't be the first time Gilly had sent a trip jinx Gideon's way, but at least this time he was prepared for it. The Gryffindor protego'd, protecting himself with the shield charm. As soon as the shield dissipated, he casted a jelly fingers curse his friends way.

For the first the were a hunt of a smile on her face as he blocked her spell. She wanted to win against him, of course she did, but if she lost to him, that wouldn't be the worst thing either. The teen blocked his spell with the simple shield spell, and when she could cast, "Furnunculus," she didn't want to outright go for spells that would end the duel, she though Gideon would be the sort of person whom she could have an easy back and forth with.

Duelling against Gilly was proving to be a lot different from duelling other people. There was less pressure to do well, not as much of a competitive stress. Gideon liked to have fun with it, but that didn't mean all of his opponents felt the same way. Because of this lack of pressure, he was a lot more slow in his attempt to block, and ended up taking a hit by her pimple jinx. They sprouted on his skin, feeling uncomfortable and disgusting, but he could keep going without any real trouble. Gid readied his wand once again, and casted a fur growing spell at his friend to get back at her for the pimples. If he was going to look bad, he wanted her to look bad with him.

Gilly definitely couldn't help the laughter which sprung from her when she watched her spell hit. She hoped he wouldn't be too annoyed, but she certainly enjoyed it. The girl was able to block his spell before sending back, "Diffindo,"

Gideon had, naturally, had his fair share of pimples in the past, but the spell that had struck him was certainly more than anything he'd experienced before. There was a lot on him at once, and it hurt to move his face in certain ways with how red and painful they were, but he still couldn't help the grin that played on his lips. It was better than being attacked by a jet of flame, as he'd been in the past. Burns were worse than boils, for sure. With a quick protego, Giddy blocked the severing charm, and aimed his wand towards Gillys legs, firing back with a knee-reversal hex.

Gilly dodged out of the way of the spell that he threw back at her. Gideon looked a little gross, but she was more focused on this fight than anything else, "Confundo"

Gideon only just managed to block the Confundus charm in time, and stumbled back a few steps as the shield took the brunt of the spell for him. "Rictusempra!" The boy shot back, casting the tickling charm toward his friend.

For a moment the slytherin lost her concentration, and Gideon's spell hit her. She couldn't help therefore the laugh which erupted from her. She laughed hard, she held the wand tightly in her hand as she finally managed to cast the Bat-bogey hex back at him, laughter still emitting from her as she cast the spell, and only after she'd cast the spell at him did she push out the word, "Finite," finally then her laughter stopped.

Gideon grinned the moment Gilly exploded into a laughing fit, the boy laughing himself simply by how contagious it was just to see. It was distracting, and lowered his guard enough so that his friends spell took him by surprise. The hex hit him before he had a chance to raise his wand to defend himself, though he wasn't sure he'd have had the breath to properly speak the shielding charm in time in the first place. Immediately, he felt a discomfort in his nose, followed by the appearance of a couple of oozing bats from his nostrils. The booger-bats wasted no time in flapping about his head and face, and the boy tried in vain to bat them away with his free hand. Realising it was useless, Giddy peeled off his jumper, and used it as a weapon to smack the bats to the floor, where he proceeded to stamp on them until they were returned to an inanimate pile of yellow-green goop. It was disgusting, more so than the boils. They would probably need to clean the platform before the next match.

Gilly had managed to finite the tickling charm, which ruined Gideons master plan of winning by making her laugh until she was too out of breath to cast any more spells. That was fine, he had plentyo f other tricks up his sleeve to exhaust his friend. "Tarantallegra!" He incanted, shooting off the dancing legs charm toward the Slytherin girl.

Gilly hadn't even noticed that Gideon was laughing so focused on her own laughter and finally getting her breath back, which didn't seem to be a good idea, she was bent over slightly, taking in deep breaths while still laughing a little as she just couldn't help how contagious it had been to just laugh a whole lot. The teen was so focused on her own breathing, that she barely noticed her own spell hit Gideon and she definitely didn't notice the spell he sent back, which hit her square on. Without being able to stop herself, her legs started dancing uncontrollably. She tried to focus on stopping the spell, but all she managed to do was trip up over her own feet and hit her head so hard off the platform that she knocked herself out.
