Y30 Duelling Match #4

[Jon Phillips]

When the previous duel had ended, Jon lead the third year contestants that were next in the line up to the stage. He went through the process of explaining each of the rules and assigned the students different ends of the platform. When he was sure they understood he stepped away so the duel could begin.​

Please refer to the spell list for guidance. No board rule breaking is acceptable. Have fun! I have a copy of the code that you should use with every post. Remember, when you are knocked out, unable to shoot anymore spells, you lost. And if you run out of points, you lose.
The duel begins now. If someone doesn't post after 24 hours, they are disqualified.

Phoebe was excited to finally be a part of this tournament. She was almost bouncing up and down as she waited for the duel to begin. The last time the tournament had been held she had only been in her first year, so she hadn't been allowed to participate. She grinned at the pretty girl that was her opponent, but no matter how pretty, she wouldn't go easy on her. "Stupefy!" She said as she pointed her wand at the girl. There was no reason to delay this.

Now that Stella was old enough to join the dueling tournament, she couldn't wait to try it out. She sometimes felt very new to magic and the complicated history her family had with magic made her feel guilty for enjoying it. But she just needed to get out of her head right now and focus on her opponent ahead of her. Stella bowed as she was instructed and then barely had time to put up her shield charm to block the oncoming spell. "Locomotor Mortis!" she yelled back.

Phoebe jumped back as she threw up her own shield charm, shooting the girl a grin as her spell failed to hit. The leg locking charm wasn't a bad idea and she quickly thought of her own spell to use in return. Pointing her wand at the girl again she quickly shot off a spell. "Rictusempra!"

Stella blocked the oncoming spell with the Shield Charm and although it wasn't a spell that could have rendered her unable to continue the duel, she was glad she wasn't hit with it. Stella was in no particular mood to laugh right now. Instead the Slytherin shot back the first spell that came to mind and yelled out, "Furnunculus."

Phoebe watched as Stella blocked her spell, then got ready to block the one in return. She was expecting something like a stunning spell, something to take her out of the game. But the spell the girl actually used surprised her. Blocking it, she burst out laughing. "Really? That distracted by my good looks that you're trying to ruin them?" She teased. In return, she sent a Jelly Fingers curse her way.

Stella scoffed at the girl's comment and laughed lightly, and barely had time to throw up her Shield charm once more. She didn't know where the comment had come from but she supposed it was supposed to be a distraction. Stella fired back, "Petrificus Totalus!" and then said, "Is that better?"
