Jon walked the two second years onto the duelling platform. After he explained the rules and was sure the students understood, he assigned which ends of the platform they were duelling from. The professor then smiled and stepped a safe distance away so the duel could begin. ​

Neven Lurken really wanted to be able to succeed on this, which was why he joined to begin with. He got onto the platform and bowed as per respect. He withdrew his wand and aimed it toward his opponent. He smirked slightly, and intoned, "Petrificus Totalus!"

Chante decided to take her chances in duelling. Since she had mixed blood, it was hard to tell which spells will effect her. Which will not. Main reason she was here, she suppose it was a good enough of excuse. Chante had her wand out, bowed, and quickly dodge the spell. <COLOR color="darkgoldenrod">"Expelliarmus!" She shouted.

Neven was a little happy that the girl was definitely no push over. He needed a challenge. He just hoped to do his parents proud. Neven waved his wand and blocked the spell with a verbal Protego, before aiming and shooting a verbal Stupefy.

Chante cast a charm shield this time around instead of dodging. Huffing, she blew out her mouth some and brush her messy hair away from view. Duelling was quick wand movements and foot work. Chante sent locomotor mortis towards her target.

Neven was a little shocked when his legs were suddenly locked together. Stupid charm. He quickly cast finite before he could fall over, and end the duel. Or duel while laying down, who knows. Angrily, he cast a Trip jinx toward his target.

The spell encouraged a random outburst of giggles coming from the second year. In return, it cause the puff to trip by retaliation. "Whoooa!" She falls, landing on her belly. "Ugh! Expelliarmus!" She takes her chances in the predicament she in.
