Professor Styx leads the two contestants to the stage, appointing them into the north or south part of the stage. He reveals the rules as well as the point system. He walks off the stage and orders the duel to begin, as he keeps a watchful eye.
OOCOut of Character:
All right, make sure that you use the spell list for guidance. No board rule breaking is acceptable. Have fun! I have a copy of the code that you should use with every post. Remember, when you are knocked out, unable to shoot anymore spells, you lost. And if you run out of points, you lose.
The duel begins now. If someone doesn't post after 24 hours, they are disqualified.

Simon loved competition, so this was the exact right thing for him. He couldn't imagine any better thing other than quidditch. He had signed up, definitely excited about the chance to prove himself in this manner. He did the bow and stepped back from his apponent, before pointing his wand at him. Simon thought he was a little limited spell wise, but he picked a recent one he had learned, "Tarantallegra," he spoke clearly watching the spell race towards the other person

As soon as Cass knew he was old enough to participate in the dueling tournament, he signed up right away. Dueling seemed like the perfect activity for him. Now that he was at his first duel, he stepped onto the platform and bowed to his partner before readying his wand. He waited to see what the boy's first move would be before he cast a shield charm and then shot back, " Stupefy!" No use in trying to beat around the bush.

Of course Simon was hoping to win, so he was quick to cast, "Protego," as soon as the other boy's spell began racing towards him. The ravenclaw who knew that the best spell to use if he wanted to win was stupefy, decided he'd also like to do more spells, "Locomotor Mortis," he said, hopeful that this would hit the other student.

Although Cass wished he could win this duel already, he did enjoy the idea of firing spells back and forth. He made sure to throw up the Shield Charm just in time to avoid being hit and then replied with a Knee Reversing Hex to try and throw his opponent off his feet.

Simon couldn't help the near gleeful smile which adorned his lips as the spell was deflected. He hadn't gotten a chance to duel before and boy could the ravenclaw see why others enjoyed it. He dodged out the way of the spell thrown at him and fired back quickly after, "Petrificus Totalus,"

Cassander was enjoying the duel so far even if his opponent was trying to end him. He blocked the oncoming spell and then shot back, "Expelliarmus." It wasn't the coolest spell but it would end the duel.

Simon wanted to win this match badly, his natural competitiveness shining through as it always did when he wanted to win something, but despite that desire he was enjoying himself. He put up a shield just in time and fired back with a trip jinx.

Cass was getting bored with how easily the duel was going, hoping for more of a challenge from his opponent. His arrogance got the best of him however when he wasn't quick enough to block the oncoming spell, so Cass tripped and fell on his face. The fall wasn't too bad but his ears turned red in embarrassment and from his position on the floor he shot out, "Stupefy!" hoping to catch the boy off guard from the low angle and end him already.
