Professor Styx leads the two contestants to the stage, appointing them into the north or south part of the stage. He reveals the rules as well as the point system. He walks off the stage and orders the duel to begin, as he keeps a watchful eye.​

All right, make sure that you use the spell list for guidance. No board rule breaking is acceptable. Have fun! I have a copy of the code that you should use with every post. Remember, when you are knocked out, unable to shoot anymore spells, you lost. And if you run out of points, you lose.
The duel begins now. If someone doesn't post after 24 hours, they are disqualified.

Clementine was surprised and happy to once again have made it to the second round of duels as she had last year. She stepped up on the platform and looked across at her opponent, recognizing him instantly as one of Anthony's friends she had met on Halloween. Clementine smiled and waved at him in greeting but now she suddenly felt nervous going into this duel. She hadn't wanted to hurt her last opponent and now she really didn't want to, but the whole point of her signing up was for her to get better at Defense Against the Dark Arts. She bows at Solomon and decided to start off by sending the Knee-reversing Hex.

Solomon found himself somewhat taken aback as his eyes fell upon the girl he was duelling for the second round. He hadn't expected to be up against someone he actually knew, considering his relatively small friend group, and while he didn't consider Clementine a friend, more someone he was acquainted with, the fact was that she was dating Anthony, which made his more aggressive duelling tactic one he had to reconsider. He didn't know what would happen if he ended up hurting her, preferring to avoid that drama as much as he could. Returning her greeting, he bowed and prepared himself, rolling his hemlock wand in his hand while keeping his eyes on Clementine until she made a move, before quickly acting. <COLOR color="seagreen">"Protego, Expelliarmus." The Slytherin incanted, deflecting the hex from his shield and immediately following it up with the disarming spell as soon as it had faded.

Clementine could tell already that Solomon was more skilled in dueling than her previous partner so she had to keep her guard up. She blocked the incoming spell and shot back "Tarantallegra," still trying to go easy on him.

Solomon defended himself from the girls returning attack, though he wasn't too sure it was always going to be necessary. Her spells were certainly ones that would impede his movement, but nothing worthy of ending the duel. The Slytherin on the other hand, wanted his victory as soon as possible. He fired back with a jelly-fingers curse, but his list of passive spells were limited, and he wasn't sure how long he'd keep it up before bringing out the heavier attacks.

Clementine cast the shield charm quickly and smiled when it protected her from being hit with the curse as she surely wouldn't have been able to continue the duel without the use of her wand. That gave her the idea to cast, "Expelliarmus!" hoping to capture his wand.

Solomon was torn by his feelings, on one side, he needed to win, whilst on the other, he didn't know if it'd put a strain on his friendships or not. The Slytherin's eyes shifted briefly to the audience as he looked for Anthony, wondering if he was even here to witness it if he ended up deciding to stun his girlfriend and get it over with, but that momentary distraction was enough for him to react too slowly to Clementines disarming spell. His wand flew from his hand as he looked on in shock, before his face and the rest of his skin quite literally became red with the embarrassment of losing to the Hufflepuff girl. Trying not to let his emotions get the better of him, he mentally wrestled his body back to its normal colour before it started to look unnatural, and wordlessly bowed to his opponent before departing the stage.
