Y28 Dueling Match #1

[Aeon Summers]

With the two contestants for the round in tow, Professor Summers lead them through the chamber, stopping short of a long, raised platform. "Alright, take your positions here, and here." He stated, motioning briefly to the far north and south sides of the platform. He explained the usual rules to follow, and how the point system applied to ensure a winning side. Stepping back, he allowed for a safe distance between himself and the duellists, before giving a thumbs up to begin. ​

Ensure that you use the spell list for guidance. No board rule breaking is acceptable. Have fun! Below is a copy of the code that you should use with every post. Remember, when you are knocked out, or unable to cast anymore spells, you have lost. If you run out of points, you also lose.

Xena followed the Professor up onto the stage, taking her place as he indicated. She had no clue who the girl opposite her was, just that her hair was very frizzy. Xena felt sorry for her, as she patted down her own silky hair, that she had braided to one side. Hey, if she was going to be on a stage, she had to look good right? At the Professor's thumbs up - which Xena thought was a weird way to start a duel - she raised her wand, shooting towards her target. "Expelliarmus!"

Margo mounted the stage, gulping uneasily as she came face to face with her (very beautiful) opponent. Was that hair-pat a subtle dig at her own frizzy mop? The Ravenclaw blushed, briefly forgetting they were about to duel. It was only by sheer luck that she managed to throw herself on the floor and dodge Xena's first spell. Climbing back to her feet, she held her wand shakily out in front of her. "Um... Locomotor Mortis?" she suggested.

Xena frowned when Ellis dodged her spell. She studied the girl for a moment as she climbed back up, before quickly jumping to the side as the girl sent a spell towards her; well, she had to double check becuase the girl seemed to ask a question rather than passionately committing, so Xena took it on herself to show her what passion was. "Tarantallegra!" She cried

Margo was surprised Xenia even had to bother dodging her feeble little spell, that drifted over the stage more than it did shot. As the Slytherin made her next move, Margo cast a quick shield charm, so amazed that it was successful that she nearly forgot it was her turn next. When at last she got her act together, she sent a Trip Jinx in Xena's direction, eager to see the girl fall on her face.

Xena's eyes narrowed as the girl blocked her spell, and as she was trying to remember how to produce the shield charm, she felt a spell hit her, and without having any idea of what was happening, Xena ended up on her face. Groaning, she quickly pushed herself up, angry that she had let a spell hit her. "Stupefy!" Xena yelled, getting angry at the girl.

Margo smirked as Xena fell over, fighting the urge to make some mean remark about it. Odette might have, but the Ravenclaw wasn't quite so good at thinking on her feet. The suddenly Xena was back up, and before Margo could so much as draw a breath to cast a shield charm she had been hit by a stunningly spell. The impact threw her backwards onto the stage, knocked out cold.

Professor Summers quietly spectated the duel between the two girls, until finally it came to a close with its Slytherin combatant as the victor. The man stepped up onto the stage, and called for Margo to be rennervated. "As Ellis is unable to continue, Dragonslayer is the victor."
