Bryce Chamberlin hoped that this year would be a better turn out than the previous one. He missed the old team, and he also wanted to be able to win a match this year too. Well, they did win one. He had a whiteboard with him on the field, supplied by the professor. He was writing on it in blue marker to tell everyone what they needed to do. Bryce had a hard time talking to people, so he figured that this would be the easiest way. After the posters saying when try outs would be, Bryce looked down at his watch before he looked up to see some Ravenclaws heading his way. Once there plenty, he pointed to the board that had the directions which were: "Hey guys, I'm your captain, Bryce Chamberlin. I am the keeper. So everyone pick up a marker and sign up with your name and position. And welcome back to the previous team too! Chasers should practice passing and scoring with the provided Quaffles. Beaters should protect the team from bludgers. Keepers should practice guarding, however you will only be an alternate. Seekers should catch the few snitches that were flying around. Good luck and have fun!" Bryce waved to them to get started and he looked up as he remembered faces with names. He could not wait for Quidditch this year. It would be incredible. Like always.
OOCOut of Character:
Running things a little differently thanks to the system. If you were on the team last year, you can post your arrival and you will be guaranteed your spot, unless you let your account go inactive. Then you have to try out again. Everyone else, we can always use lots of players, so one post with your arrival and try out! Previous team, if you want to help the others try out, go on ahead too!

First years, you can PM me to approve before posting here. If I say no, you can defend your request.
Below is the team, and the available positions.

Gabriel arrived on the pitch well before tryouts for the Ravenclaw House team were scheduled to start. He had been pleased with himself last year for making the team as a first year, and he was looking forward to another exciting season as a chaser. Even though he didn't have to tryout for his spot this year, he had brought his broom with him. Once Bryce had given his instructions, Gabriel took a seat on the grass to watch the new potential members.

Donald was nervous, he has always been a fan of quidditch, and felt that he was quiet a competent flyer, but he was only 12 years old, was he skilled enough to join the quidditch team. The little boy didn't know, part of him thought he was making a huge mistake by even coming out to try. What if he made a massive mistake and everyone started to laugh at him? He didn't think he could stand that.

No, he was just being stupid, he was a good flyer, and his slim build meant that, in theory, he would be a good seeker, but then maybe his age would count against him. Even if he did not get on the team, at least he would have tried and there would always be next year.

The 2nd year felt a bit more confident now, and stepped out onto the pitch, holding his broomstick. Don listened very carefully to what the captain was saying. He would risk it, and try out for the position of seeker, the worst that would happen would be that he won't get on the team, but he knew that if he didn't at least try for it, that he would regret it a lot later.

Donnie mounted his broomstick and kicked off, soaring up into the air, and started to fly around the quidditch pitch, looking out for the golden glint of the snitch. He wasn't really having that much luck in spotting it so far. Maybe he wasn't cut out to be seeker; maybe he made a mistake, the young lad sighed and started to get slightly downhearted, when he spotted something, was it the Snitch? It certainly looked like it. The 2nd year leant down on his broom and zoomed towards it, with his hand out stretched, hoping that he would be able to grab it, but started to get nervous at the speed he was going, and pulled up.

Rats... he thought to himself,...I might have blown the try outs. The youngster had lost sight of the snitch in any case, so he returned to circling the pitch, high up, hoping to spot it again. This time....this time, don't chicken out he mentally scolded himself. Donald really hoped that he hadn't blown his chance.

Blaine Matthias was back for another round. This made him really happy. He walked up to the pitch. He nodded to the captain when he was looking, and then over to Gabriel Black. He knew him because they were in the same dorm room. It was pretty neat. Blaine walked over to the bench and he sat down. He did not have to try out his spot. So, he did not mind it. Blaine was just happy to watch the others try out for the available spots.

Serenity had never really considered playing Quidditch, she liked to watch the game and would maybe play a small bit at home but it was never something she thought she would consider to take part in competitively. Although after talking to Bryce, whom she knew from Accio, she found out that the Ravenclaw team were looking for a new seeker and some alternatives in case they were needed for a game and after been talked around to at least trying out she decided it wouldn't hurt to at least try. On the day of the try outs Serenity dressed comfortably and made her way down to the pitch. She hadn't much practice when it came to being a seeker but she was agile thanks to her small frame after years and years of dancing and she knew this would work to her advantage as she knew seekers had to be able to move quick.

When she got to the pitch she saw Bryce and a few other people that she really only knew from around the Ravenclaw Common Room and the odd class as there wasn't many second years trying out. Walking over to where everyone had gathered around she waited for Bryce to give out the instructions. When gave the board she wrote her name and position down on the board. As the older Ravenclaw talked Serenity could feel the nerves building up in her stomach but she didn't let them deter her as she had been more than used to this sensation before performing and she let it drive her to perform better and go out there to win. With determination and will to do her best.

When given the go ahead Serenity mounted her broom and kicked off. Flying around a bit to get her feel of the pitch and being up in the air again she started to keep her eye out for the stitch. She could hear everyone else below her practising, the other positions seemed like fun too and were definitely much more inclusive as they always had something to do, even the keeper got to watch the game as they waited for someone to attempt a goal against them. She knew the Ravenclaw team were strong last year and heck the seeker even got the snitch in what was probably the fastest time in the history of school games, she wondered if she had the chance to play if she would be that lucky.

Continuing to fly around Serenity was starting to get worried that maybe she wasn't the great as she couldn't see anything that remotely resembled the snitch and she had been flying about for what seemed like forever. As she waited for the snitch to appear she decided to show off some of her skills on a broom such as how fast she could go and making some sharp turns, lifts and dives. Across from the Slytherin stands she was making another sharp turn and she saw a flicker of gold go around the back of it. Pulling hard on her broom she started to follow it. Turning round the a straight position she saw the snitch in front of her, as clear as day. Grinning widely she started to race forward as there was a fair bit of distance between her and snitch. With her arm out reached she willed herself forward more and more, just one more inch. She could now feel the flapping of the wings against her skin and with one final push she closed her hand into a tight fist so the snitch couldn't get free. Clearly chuffed with herself she made her way back down to the ground and handed the snitch back over to Bryce with a large grin on her face.

Rosie was actually worried about going to Quidditch tryouts today. not because she worried about her position on the team, because she knew that if she didn't have Quidditch she could always find something else. Rosie was actually scared because she was worried about seeing Bryce. Ever since she had told him about her and Nikandros, he had been acting funny. Was he mad at her or something? Rosie bit her lip before she pushed some of her dark brown hair aside and headed over towards the pitch. It was hard to believe that they were fifth years already. Pretty soon they would be Graduating and leaving this place behind. Rosie approached the group with her broom in hand and smiled softly. They all knew what position she wanted this year since it had been the same as every other year. Hopefully some bright new faces would be joining the group today. Rosie would love to have new teammates to play with.

Emerald was thrilled to be attending Hogwarts, but even more so upon the discovery that the Ravenclaw Quidditch team trials were taking place so soon. It was a bright and shiny morning when the young girl awoke and made her way, bleary-eyed, down to the stretched grass of the pitch. She had had to borrow one of the school brooms to take part, and while many other older students had turned up wearing full Quidditch sporting attire, the chubby girl had found out a pair of old tracksuit bottoms and a lesser-loved t-shirt. She still wore her black robes with this, but she did not wish to mess up her actual school uniform in the process of the trials. That was, she began to think with dampening spirits, glancing about her person and noticing how much taller everyone else seemed to be, if she was allowed to take part.
Drawing in a lasting breath, Emerald turned to the list of sign-ups, writing up her name and pausing for a long period of time as she pondered which position to try out for. Well, she certainly wasn't the ideal build for a Seeker, but she had the more rotund build and arm power of a beater. So that was what she placed herself down to try out for.
Emerald didn't mind if she became a team reserve; it would offer up more chances to get out and get practicing.

Taking the clunky old school broom into her side, the Ravenclaw first year approached the kick-off point and abruptly mounted her broom. Her robes nearly ended in a tangle, but Emerald tossed them back as though used to such circumstance. Which, unfortunately, she was.
A swift stamp of her feet and the young witch was up in the air, floating gracefully around the field with a bat gripped firmly in one hand, her broom in the other. Right, she thought cheerfully, for now she was up there was no going back, balance and swing.
Just at that moment, a bludger came violently swooshing towards her head. "Yaaah!" She squealed, raising the wooden bat in defence. The bludger hit the bat. It hit firmly and directly, but Emerald's strengthly wield had over-powered and knocked it, though only just, into a sloping dance back across the pitch. Well, it wasn't quite the perfect hit. Far from it. But it had done the trick, nonetheless.
Now Emerald swooped and steered her way towards another bludger, purposely targeting it with a bracing swipe; the bludger was sent sailing back across the pitch, nicely timed to collide with another. The two balls spiralled off in opposite directions and Emerald began to chase after them. It was only now that she wondered if she maybe did have the the chance of becoming a Seeker, if she was actually stealthy enough even with her added size.

When the trials at last came to an end, Emerald landed safely down upon solid ground. Instantly she felt a numb ache in her legs from the awkward positioning. Yes, if the girl made the Ravenclaw Quidditch team then she would most definitely need to invest in her own, comfortable broom.

Emalia did not exactly feel like going to the Try Outs, but she supposed she had to 'be there for her team' and meet any new potentials. The young Ravenclaw thought back to her try-out the year before, and remembered that she didn't feel that nervous. She found that even though she had only joined to get a better understanding of how different people's minds work, she had enjoyed playing. Emalia didn't think she would go back again this year, but she found herself missing it over the holidays, and if she could have another opportunity to hit bludgers at her brothers, well, why the hell not then!
Emalia walked onto the pitch and greeted her team, however just waving to her captain. She wondered if there was some sort of magical thing that the healers could do to make him hear again. Surely there was. Emalia wasn't entirely sure what she was supposed to do while the newbies tried out, but she made her rounds of talking to people, seeing if anyone had changed much over the holidays, and what had caused the change.

Okay guys, a few more days until try outs close.
I bolded those that were on the team that posted, so unless the ones that aren't bolded don't post, someone else will be placed on the team! So, come on down everyone! You may end up in the starting line up!
