Last year was hell when it came to Quidditch. Hades Styx the Second walked down to the pitch, glad that he was the only one that was reigning over the Quidditch team now. He did not have to deal with Drama Queen that lucked out on getting Head Girl. No, he was alone and he needed something good. Well, he was an Animagus now. So that was a plus. And Quidditch Captain. NEWTs were on his shoulders, and he had to deal with that too. The goal was to become so busy, he did not have to find anyone to maim. And so far it was working too. Sighing, he waited for the potential team members to show up, with his broom hovering at his side. Once they had, he ordered in a quiet yet cold tone, "So, here is what you will do. State your name and the position you are trying out for. Then, Chasers, grab a quaffle and practice practicing and throwing them into the hoops. Keepers, take to the hoops and guard. Beaters, there are bludgers flying around so guard the team. Finally, seekers, there are golden snitches flying around, so seek them out. Now get to it." Hades waited on the ground to judge the try outs.
OOCOut of Character: Instructions
Post your arrival and try out all in one. The more creative the post, the better.
First years: If you are interested in trying out, PM Hades. Be prepared to back up your statement.

Proserpina Laurent was a sixth year now, and utterly alone. She liked Romaine Snow, she realized that now, and she could do nothing about that. She would have to learn to write to him and pray that he writes her in return. For now, she was going to be one of those girls that busied herself with meaningless activities. Quidditch was one of them. She was going to try out for keeper again! She gathered her Quidditch robes, broom and her Prefect badge and headed out of the corridors. She was going to do her best! She had faith in her skills. She seemed to have a natural ability of playing Quidditch and flying, which was nice. She could not wait to write to her sister and tell her of everything she was doing in school! She wanted her sister around some more, but she was off joining a circus or in the circus. She was with Sidney though, so she thought that they would be doing well. She could not wait when she could become a healer and help people though. Everything would be amazing once she got that job. Maybe she would become someone special with becoming a healer, and meet a doctor! Now that would be awesome!

The Hufflepuff Prefect walked to the pitch and she looked to the single captain whom looked like he was in a rotten mood. She smiled and she said, "Proserpina Laurent, trying out for keeper!" Proserpina waited until she was free to mount the broom and go up to guard the hoops. She wondered if they were going to be doing something different from last year. And it seemed like they were not. She shook her head and she mounted her broom, where she soared up and went to one of the hoops. Proserpina had to make sure that her balance was good enough, and she held her broom carefully. Now that she was just comfortable with her broom after a year of owning it, she knew that she would not any trouble with balancing. Surely another keeper would be doing well, but she could try her little Hufflepuff heart out when it came to doing this. She prepared herself as she saw a couple of chasers heading her way. Seeing a quaffle fly, she flew up and she caught the quaffle within her tiny hands. She tossed it back to the chasers and she hoped that she would be able to do that again, and again. During the time she was trying out, she caught a couple more, and she accidentally let a couple in as well. It was only natural. She flew back down and she landed once try outs were over. She smiled to the captain before she walked off, hoping she made the team.

Sarah Keith had made it on the Hufflepuff Quidditch Team last year, even going as far as to score a goal for the team in their game, which they ended up winning. Now that Kate had graduated, that left them one less Chaser, and Sarah vowed to step into the ex-Captain's shoes, but only play better of course. Standing in front of the mirror, she quickly parted her hair down the middle, and dividing her hair in two, quickly plaited each side. Nodding slightly at her appearance, a satisfied smile on her face, she hurried down towards the pitch, gripping her Streak tightly in her right hand.

When she arrived at the Pitch, she saw that she was the second to arrive, apart from Hades of course. He didn't look like he was in the best of moods, and the third year desperately hoped not to annoy him even more. She smiled to both Proserpina and Hades as she drew closer, and when she arrived in front of Hades, still smiling, she said, 'Sarah Keith, trying out for Chaser again.' Hopefully Hades remembered her, and she was judged favourably for that.

Sarah waited until her turn, caught the Quaffle easily when it was thrown to her, mounted her Streak, and flew into the air. She made sure to fly at top speed, catching the Quaffle when it was thrown to her, but also making sure not to be a Quaffle Hog. Apparently a Gryffindor a few years ago had been the worst Quaffle Hog ever, and everyone had hated her for that. Even her teammates. The Hufflepuff vowed to never be like that.

When she reached the hoops, Sarah aimed the Quaffle at the right hoop, throwing as hard as she could, cheering when it went in the hoop. Catching it when it was thrown back out to her, she attempted a feint, something she knew that she needed to practice, but unfortunately it was just barely saved. As the try-outs went on, Sarah took as many shots as she could, and practiced her passing many more times, even giving tips to the others when she could. She wanted Hufflepuff to have the best team possible. During the try-outs, a few of her shots were saved, but most of them flew in. And thankfully, as the try-outs went on, her feinting improved as well, which would definitely be beneficial in their first game.

When the try-outs were finished, Sarah flew down to the ground, gently landing. As she dismounted her broom, she smiled at the others around her, and nodding once to Hades, she walked off, her Streak yet again in her right hand, hoping that she had made the team again this year.

It was yet that time of the year wherein Ai Edogawa would try out to attempt to make it into the team. She wasn't exactly the best player but she always did try her best during these events and during the games too. During these times, she would always wake up early to have the right breakfast to support her energy, which she very much needed these days. After a good breakfast, the Hufflepuff went back to her room to get herself ready for the try outs. Kate had graduated, so she was pretty sure that it would only be Hades that would be hosting the try outs, but it didn't matter to her, as long as she made it to the team, she wouldn't mind.

After getting into her Quidditch attire, Ai grabbed her broom and went down to the Quidditch Pitch seeing quite a few people there already, mostly her teammates last year. Ai approached the group and waited for the rest to arrive. As soon as Hades thought that they were complete, the try-outs began. "Ai Edogawa, trying out for Keeper again," she said and knew that she was going to have to do her best again since last year's keeper was probably going for the same spot too. And Ai knew that she was a better keeper than a chaser. As her thoughts swirled in her mind, Ai barely managed the signal Hades gave to start the try outs.

She quickly mounted her broom and kicked off the ground, directly heading to the unguarded hoops which some of the chasers would be using anytime now. "Man! These year's chasers are fast," she whispered mainly to herself as she saw a quaffle being thrown to the hoops as she was approaching. She leaned down to her broom, gaining more speed and thank the gods, she had caught the quaffle before it went through the center hoop. "But not fast enough," she giggled as she threw the quaffle back to the surrounding chasers.

The game of tag with the quaffles had lasted for quite a while and she had to admit that the chasers trying out this year were good. Luckily, she had managed to catch most of them, but unfortunately missed three to five quaffles in some of the processes. But with that said, try outs was done as she gently flew down and landed. She dismounted her broom and went back to the group and wondered if she would make it to the team this year with all her missed saves. But that would have to wait for Hades' decision as she informed him she was done and went back to the common room with a contented smile on her face.

Valentina figured that she would give this Quidditch thing a try. Flying on a broomstick was pretty easy, so trying to fly around and play a game on one couldn't be too hard either could it? Valentina figured that she would find out whether she was able to actually play the game or not. Valentina had borrowed a Beater's bat from a friend and bought a broom before the year had began. If she ended up making the team she would be sure to her get own bat, but for right now borrowing would just have to do. Valentina didn't see any point of wasting her money if she wasn't even going to have the chance to use it after today? Valentina sure as hell hoped so. It would be cool to be part of a team, even if she probably wouldn't take much of a chance to get to know them. Valentina walked over to the captain, who was a creepy looking seventh years and explained to him why she was here. "I'm Valentina Baros, and I'd like to try out for Beater." Valentina was glad that Sergei wasn't here.

When given the okay, she mounted the broomstick and kicked off the ground. Valentina instantly found a bludger within record time. Her sweaty hands held the beater's bat tightly as she flew toward it. The bludger sped away but soon enough Valentina was able to reach it. Hurriedly, Valentina swung her arm back and smacked the bludger away. It flew a decent distance away from her. Not wasting any time at all Valentina chased after another one and did the same thing. Only this time she send it flying even further. Valentina kept hitting them back and forth in varying directions. Of course she did mis-aim a few of them. But overall she wasn't doing too bad. Hopefully the bludgers didn't hit anyone though. Valentina flew towards one last bludger and swung away. Sending it flying. All together she hit about six or seven. But that was about it. After that she landed on the ground and rubbed her hands, they were already sore from the dang bat.

Try something different. Do something that scares you. Get out there and get in to something you never would've before - you'll be better off for it, Mima.

So Sabrina's words echoed in her mind as she walked down to the Quidditch pitch, clutching her broomstick - an Amethyst Streak - close to her chest as she hurried over to the assembled Hufflepuffs. Her mind was racing - that letter from her father was plaguing her thoughts - but she did her best to shove all that aside and focus on the matter at hand - that she'd finally snapped and decided to try out for the Hufflepuff Quidditch team.

She wasn't a bad flier, of course - she was pretty decent on a broom. Not a professional, by any means, but she thought she could possibly be able to hold her own in the Hufflepuff team. And if she couldn't, she'd be mercilessly cut down, and that would be that. The optimistic, hopeful part of her assured her that things would be fine. She had pretty good eyesight and hand-eye coordination, and as such she found herself walking up to Hades with a defiant look in her eyes, and saying, as bravely and confidently as the nervous Mima could, "Mima Scarlet, and I'm trying out for Seeker."

With that, she moved aside, mounted her broom, and took to the skies, before making a couple of laps of the pitch to warm up. She'd been practicing of late, of course, and since she lived in a wizarding community, she'd been able to spend the break improving her flying.

Glad she'd thought to tie her hair back, Mima bit her lip as she scanned the surrounding area. It wouldn't do to miss the snitch because she wasn't paying attention. She lifted herself higher before - there, a glint of gold. Seeing that, she sped in the direction of it - it was near the hoops, before pulling up abruptly as she nearly rammed in to a quaffle, and the keeper who was catching it. No sign of the snitch. Glad she'd been able to stay at least 2 metres away, Mima headed back up, circling the pitch again.

She spotted a glint of gold in the middle, and sped towards it, before stopping, she saw it in her peripheral vision, heading over to the right. Setting her jaw, defiantly, Mima turned and followed the snitch, now hot on its trail. Closer...closer...and there, she stretched out her arm to catch it, grabbed it, and just missed. Groaning, she kicked up the speed, leaned forward a bit more on her broom...and managed to catch the snitch, saving herself by doing a neat forward roll on her broom.

Shaking thanks to the adrenaline rush, Mima landed on the ground, giggling slightly to herself as she handed the snitch to the captain. Thanking him, Mima jogged back to the castle, feeling a little dizzy. She hoped she'd get used to that, if they picked her. Otherwise, matches would be...interesting.

We still need at least two chasers, so first years are welcome to come and try out.

After much personal debate, Meera decided it was time to make something of her new home. She had to get involved. It was just her thing. She missed Qudditch and from what she had heard that Qudditch at Hogwarts was more exciting than Beauxbatons. She had seen a prefect stick up the notice in the common room about the tryouts. Maybe if she got involved in something she would feel less lonely and sad. The day of the tryouts she got up early and got ready. She was wearing black jeans and a white shirt. Tying her hair up in a good bun she walked down to the Qudditch pitch that she had so far only seen from the window of her dormitory. In her one week at school, she had just attended her classes and skipped most of the meals. She had hardly explored the place. She put on a cap, trying to hide her face as much as possible. She was trying to ignore the staring but it was hard. Maybe if she faced it head on while playing the game she loved it would help her get through everything. As she did not have a broom of her own, she took one from the stock. It was an old firebolt but it was all she needed. She saw the faces of what she took were her housemates. She did not recognize a face because she never sat in the common room. After the Captain announced the procedure, Meera introduced herself to the small group. She just used her first name. And she forgot other people's name the minute she heard them. "Meera, trying for Chaser"

Meera mounted her firebolt and kicked off from the ground. After rising a few feet into the air, she realized how much she had missed this. The feeling that came with flying. Once the red balls were released Meera got hold of one and begun her mission. Some of the people trying out were good. She was not sure on which house normally won but her house seemed to be doing alright. With practice she had a feeling they would improve. With the Quaffle tucked under her arm she soared through the air towards the hoops and made her first attempt at scoring. The keeper seemed distracted and unable to defend the hoop and she had scored. Meera remembered how the former captain at Beaux had asked her to take over the team this year but she had nothing left but memories. She tried to concentrate and attempted another goal after a few passes but the Keeper was guarding hard and stopped the Quaffle. After a few more minutes she had scored four times in the five times that she had attempted and she was sure in her last goal she had heard a few claps from the stands. Didn't everyone hate her around here? She was not sure but she knew she would find out soon. Later on once the tryouts were over she made her way to the showers and then crawled back to her bed in her dorm.
