This year was already full of surprises. The biggest of them was being that she had been given Head Girl. Aphrodite wasn't going to lie and try to say that she wasn't hoping she would be given the chance deep inside, it was just surreal that she had actually been given a chance. This was something her older sister had never accomplished. Alyssa had never even made Prefect, let alone Head Girl. No longer did Aphrodite Snow have to live in Alyssa's shadow...and she was pretty damn proud of that. Sadly though, this was also her last year. Which also meant it was her last year being able to be captain. When school was done, Aphrodite she wouldn't be continuing with Quidditch either, so she was prepared to make it last! After a couple of minutes, Aphrodite noticed people headed towards her, and she greeted them warmly. Hopefully they were all ready to kick some butt this year! When it looked like a pretty decent crowd had formed, Aphrodite gathered everyone around. "Okay guys, please state your name and position that you are trying out for, then proceed to tryout. Anyone who is trying out to be a Chaser, grab a quaffle and practice passing and such. You can also try to score. Keepers, go to the hoops guard. If you need someone to throw some Quaffles for you to block one of the Chasers or I will help out. Beaters, go grab a bat and practice hitting some bludgers and guarding the team. Lastly, Seekers, there are some golden snitches flying around, so practice chasing after and if you can...catching the snitch. Good luck everyone, and try your best! Also, I'd like to announce that after I Graduate, our fellow Seeker Sergios Romanes had accepted to take over the team for me!" Aphrodite pushed out the box of supplies and signaled for everyone to get to it. She reached over and took hold of her handy dandy little clipboard. That would help her keep notes on who was doing what since she was all alone this year. She wanted to see all that they had. This year was going to be their year!

OOCOut of Character:
Okay guys, same as it has been previous years It just requires one post! Just state your arrival and your try out into one. Make it creative. We want to get the teams posted as soon as possible so post as you as you can! If your student has questions feel free to post them here or PM me, and I will answer to them accordingly.

Also, if there are any first years really dying to play and think they are able to be available for games...PM me. There may be a chance for you to try out as well!

Sergios Romanes could not believe that he had been made prefect by his Head of House. That was all of his siblings now! He loved his accomplishments now. He took his broom in his hand, and he walked down to the Quidditch Pitch. Aphrodite had told him that she would like him to take over the Quidditch team once she graduated, which he happily accepted of course. He would love to! He was very happy to have received such an honor. Though he was really jealous that his brother was dating her too. He looked a little cocky when he entered the pitch, and he immediately approached Aphrodite. He gave her a hug and he greeted, "Hiya, future sis! Thanks a lot for wanting me to take over next year!" He was still shocked that he had managed to get prefect. Isabella Pisces often had him in trouble with Professor Styx. He continued to say in a confident voice, “Sergios Romanes, trying out for seeker like usual.” Well, it was better than any other position that he had.

The Gryffindor fifth year swung his leg over the broom and he soared up, his brown eyes peeling around for that golden snitch or two that was flying around here. After failing last year, he was more determined than ever to catch them all for try outs. He soared around, dodging players and bludgers as they were flying around the area with ferocity. He was experienced, but he wanted to prove himself against the loss to Slytherin. He was so aggravated over that loss, he did not know what else to really do about it, except train harder and faster. Two losses in a roll really bothered him. He was losing his touch. With the speeds that he was soaring around at, it was easy to tell that he had been practicing his heart out. He spotted one of the snitches, and he zoomed after it, with his hand outstretched. It only seemed too easy when he caught the snitch, and he released it, only to follow after it and catch it, over and over. He eventually landed when it was time to wait for the results. Sergios only hoped that no one remembered their loss last year as he left the pitch to await the results of the try out. He was certain that he would get seeker again. He normally did.

Taylor Blare was as excited as she could possibly be as she walked down the the Quidditch pitch. She hadn't been on the team last year, and she regretted that, but she wanted to be back on the team this time round. It had made her so happy as a second year and so she was excited that she would be given the chance to try out again. She was a little depressed about her parents, but right now she was in her game mood. Nothing was going to disturb her as she walked along the grounds with her broom in hand. These days she looked a lot like a girl, it was true, no more tomboying for her, but she was still strong and could wield a bat as well as anyone. Definitely a lot better then she had in second year in any case. As she walked, she allowed her broom to float behind her as she pulled her long hair into a ponytail and then a plait. She didn't want it flying all over the place and obstructing her vision. She smiled when she got to the pitch and saw their headgirl Aphrodite. She didn't really know her that well, but she knew that she was a nice person and she had this presence about her that Taylor really liked too. She was also happy that Samual had gotten Headboy, she knew he deserved it and he was going to be a great leader for them. Though she wasn't sure he was really responsible enough.

Taylor looked around as others arrived and clapped happily when she heard the news of who would be the captain next year. She turned to Sergios and congratulated him, it was a great opportunity for him she was sure he was going to enjoy it. She stepped forward when Aphrodite called the tryouts and calmed herself. She could do this, she had done it before. "Taylor Blare. Trying out for Beater!" She said as she grabbed what she needed and jumped into the air. She flew around the pitch for awhile getting the feel back before she headed over to the others and started looking for the bludgers. She spotted one floating around in the middle of the pitch and zoomed towards it beating it towards the edge. They weren't really moving around. Taylor bit her lip and then nearly fell off her broom when a Bludger came whizzing past her head. She had not been paying attention and nearly lost out because of it. She turned and made after the Bludger, smashing it back in its original direction. She flew around the pitch, ducking and rolling and hitting bludgers back and forth. She was working up quite the sweat. Man did she love flying. Awhile later, everyone was finished and Taylor landed back on the ground, dismounted her broom and nodded to her fellow hopefuls. She hoped she had done enough to get on the team this time round. Damn her for not paying attention.

For starters Khione hated the fact that for two or three years she's going to be an alternative and feels like forever. The part-goblin couldn't fathom such thought that she decided change her position, since she heard that Sergio their seeker will be there captain when Aphrodite graduates. In desire of a position that isn't an alternate, Khione decided to go for Keeper. Even though she may be small she could take on those quaffles any time. She was sure of it, with her head held high, Khione marched her way to the pitch. Already seeing familiar faces, the fourth year waves and began to state her name. Khione Hawthorne, this time trying out for keeper." It would be thrilling to see a small girl like her guarding the hoops, after all she is fast and strong. Size doesn't matter. With a big smile on her face, away she go to show what she can do. She journeyed to the hopes and positioned herself trying to guard every hoop, with a grip tight on her broom. "I'm ready, I am!" She thought to herself, internally screaming. The swoosh of the wind made her feel alive, everything will be well she hoped.

When a chaser tried to score and go the hoop, Khione immediately blocked it way, while balancing her broom with the use of her legs. "Noooo!" She exclaimed as she kicked the quaffles out of her way before it even shoot for the hoops. Surprisingly, it didn't entered the hoops. Before even partying, she watched the others chasers who were prepared to shoot their hoops. Out of the quaffles and attempt, one got in due to the fact that two chasers tried to shoot those quaffles at the same time. Still everything went well as she hoped for, Khione wonders if she could take the spot as their teams Keeper. When she was done, the Gryffindor hovered her broom and went back to the ground, landing smoothly as she can. A year of flying lessons and years before it are all worth it. She grinned to their captain and the rest, "That went well, don't you think?" She thought out that that everyone could hear her, she didn't mind. Today is going the day that she'll start her temporally dream to be a keeper, since during the summer she's been busy preparing and training for this very day.

Indiana took a deep breath before entering the pitch once again. Last year she had to sit out from the team, during the previous summer she had been practicing quidditch with her siblings at home and managed to beat herself up pretty badly on accident. It prevented her from being ready for the tryouts last fall and kept her in the stands all year. Now she was better and she wanted to be on the team once again. She had been alternate chaser when she was a first year and she was hoping for a spot on the team. The girl had spent her summer at home practicing with her siblings before they went off to tryout for professional quidditch. It made her feel confident about her flying and the skills she had. "Hey there! Indiana Night trying out for Chaser," the third year stated to the Captain Aphrodite. Nodding to the captain she took off in the air with a quaffle in hand and began to practice tossing the quaffle back and forth with another chaser hopeful.

Flying over towards the hoops and the people trying out for Keeper Indiana prepared herself to shoot. She learned a few maneuvers over the summer that fooled her sister the first few times she had tried them out. Dodging to the right hoop Indiana swiveled around and went for the far left hoop instead. The quaffle easily passed through the hoop and Indiana pumped her fist as she flew back and reset her position. She tried out similar techniques on the different keeper hopefuls. A few of them seemed to catch on with her patterns and managed to block her shots. She knew it was good that they could stop them, it meant they were prepared for the moves of chasers on the other teams. Indiana was having a good time up in the air. Indiana was a lot better than she had been when she was a first year and made the alternative chaser spot. Now she had more knowledge on playing with a full team and not just her two siblings. Both of them made it onto the Stonewall Stormers team and she had a spot there with her name on it if she really wanted, next to her siblings.

The girl was good at playing with others, she made sure to pass the ball off and show that she could maneuver around hardtimes and pass the quaffle instead of hogging the ball the entire game. It wasn't important to her if she made the shot but that her team got more points, so the young teen knew she had to help others on her team just as much as they should help her when a shot was open. She congratulated the Keepers each time they blocked one of her or the other chaser's shots, as well as high fiving the chasers who got the quaffle into the hoops. Indiana made sure she did both parts of the tryouts, helping the Keepers as well as working on the passing and blocking passes part of being a Chasers. It was great fun for her as it was something she loved doing. At the end of the tryouts Indiana landed back on the ground feeling tired but relieved she managed to do so well. Flying over the summer had really helped build back up her core muscles she needed to move swiftly and well in the air.

After a successful tryout in the year before, the now third year Gryffindor was more than willing to try out again. He had improved a lot, he thought, since the year before. He was no longer so terrified of the bludger as it flew towards him, and he had grown a bit in all the areas that he should be. He was sure, that while the year before he had been terrified, and had sort of hoped he wouldn't make the team, the young Gryffindor was actually really interested in making the team this time around. He'd enjoyed the match enough to want more. Though to begin with he had just wanted to close the door on quidditch for the rest of his school career. Which Tybalt had decided upon arrival at school this year wouldn't be the case. He was ready and raring to get started on this. To try to do his best, and be the best god damn beater that he could be. he knew this wouldn't match some of the others, but he was hopeful. And Ty had learned that even if he didn't make the team, he could be an alternative, he could be a supporter, as long as Gryffindor did a bit better this time around, he would happily support. He would happily play. This didn't however make him feel much better come the morning. This year, unlike the last he was not just there to improve for his little sister's sake, who was now seven and becoming interested in the game. Instead he wanted to do it for him too. He'd worked hard to be a good player. He had tried and tried and tried. He was going to try out, and even if he failed, he had given it his best shot, and that was all he could ever ask for. He was still however nervous on the morning. He had barely slept because of the nerves, and he had barely eaten because he feared he wouldn't keep it down. He couldn't exactly be sure that he wouldn't have problems with the heights. While he was pretty sure he was over it, there was no being too certain and he didn't want to really risk anything. There was nothing good about being sick over the pitch after flying. He was a third year, by now, surely he would have his fear under some form of control. But, that was asking a little too much of the young Gryffindor. However, he was on the pitch bright and early, staying fairly close to the back. His nerves sky rocketing. He smiled over at Kyle, and then to Indiana, whom he also gave a small nervous wave. Person after person got up and flew. Tybalt was sure that all of them were better than him. All of them. He just, he couldn't believe how good everyone was flying. He'd end up being the clumsy kid who wasn't good enough to even bother trying out.

Suddenly, like before, someone had pushed the young teen out and in front of the rest of the people waiting to try. As this happened, Ty grew even more nervous. He could feel his heart hammering away in his chest, as if desperate to break free from his body. His hands were sweating profusely, and he just, he wasn't ready. He didn't feel ready, but he had no choice. For young Lydia Archer, and for him, He had to do this. "Tybalt Archer," He stated, though quietly, he smiled at the team captain, who was also head girl and the previous years captain. Clearly last time around she'd been impressed by his flying, he just needed to repeat that. "Trying out for Beater," Without another word, Ty picked up the generic school broom, and beater club, and flew up into the air. he was trying out, as other players were too. It was all a bit confusing for the Gryffindor to begin with. He had his usual playing glasses on. Before he could really register it, the bludger seemed to fly out into the air. What was noticeable different from the previous year was how, he flew better. Everything was smoother, and it was clear that he wasn't gripping the broom for dear life. As long as he didn't look down too often he was fine. Flying in the direction where he had spotted the bludger, Ty grew in confidence, he swung the bat as hard as he could, launching the bludger away from the flying chasers. While not as strong as what he had managed before, it was still a lot better than what he'd done first time around. There was a lot of improvement from the young Gryffindor, who had been so afraid of flying over a year before. Ty had little time to rest, before flying along side some of the chasers, and spotting a bludger heading right for them. Ty urged his broom forward, he wanted this. For once, his mind set was not just thinking of his little sister whom he wanted to teach this sport to. He wanted this. He once again, swung the bludger hard, but his arm wasn't as strong as he would've hoped. Instead of soaring away, the bludger only flew back a little. This gave time for the chasers to fly off, just as the bludger headed straight back for Tybalt. This motivated the young Gryffindor to spring into action even more. he wasn't too much out of practice he hoped. Once again, Tybalt drew all of the strength that he had within him, and hit the bludger. That time around the desired effect was achieved. Ty's arm was a little sore, and this reminded him that he needed to get a little more practicing done after this. But, at least for now, the bludger was flying away from him, and heading into just empty space for now. It would eventually fly back towards him, but that was all right, this called the end of his try-out. Someone else who was trying out for beater could deal with it.

Landing on the ground, the young Gryffindor realised that he was shaking. Though this time it was through the nerves of the try-out rather than from the fear of the heights. He was however happy with the overall out come. he felt he had done himself proud and even if he didn't make the team, he was glad to have tried. He always said that he had nothing really to lose by trying out. He wasn't a huge fan of rejection but he could deal with it. And as long as the team did well, he would be happy. He wanted Gryffindor to be the winning team. Because it was the best team. Well, it was the best house, and by extension the best team. Quietly the Gryffindor thanked the captain and went to wait at the back of the crowd where he could at least sit down and wait to hear what the outcome would be.

Liam ran down to the pitch, his robes flying out behind him. He'd gained a lot of muscle over the Summer, Father had trusted him with more than usual, working with the larger horses. He'd entered some competitions with Obi-Wan, and he'd gotten to play some rugby again too. It had been a great Summer. Father had taken him to see the Prides and the Magpies play, and the Magpies had won! Yes, a great Summer. Still, he was back in School now, so he was going to make sure he took part in the one part of Hogwarts that he genuinely enjoyed. Quidditch. It was the moost amazing, wonderful sport known to man. Quidditch was more than Sport, it was a community. Quidditch brought people together. He and Kyle had bonded over Quidditch, and he now considered the boy a real friend. He could talk to Kyle. He'd been an alternate last year, but he was hoping to do better this year. He was much bigger, a good build for a beater, and he was fast. He ran every morning, and had recently begun weight-lifting. There was something deeply satisfying about exercise.

When he reached the pitch, he saw that he was one of the first people there, though he recognised a few people; his fellow Third Year; Tybalt, being one of them. He waved to the boy, they shared a dorm after all. There was Indiana too; the girl had helped him draw pictures for his sister once, and he smiled broadly at her. Approaching the Captain, and Head Girl, he grinned. He was incredibly proud of his House. The Head People were both Lions, something which really pleased Liam; "Hallo." he greeted her; "Congratulations on Head Girl." Then, remembering why he'd walked up to her in the first place, he added; "Liam Kale, trying out for Beater." He could look threatening when he wanted, but he was a friendly person at heart, and beamed at the older girl, then took his place with his prospective team-mates.

When they were given their instructions, Liam nodded, fairly simple. He gripped his broom, swung his leg over the Crimson Streak and was off. His hair was shorter now, and the familiar feeling of the wind whipping through his hair, while it was disconcerting, he did have better vision, and he had to grudgingly admit that his Parents had a point. He zoomed toward the centre of the pitch. He had to protect the team; seeing as there was no opposing team to aim at. He saw a bludger head up toward where the Chasers were practising, and flew off in pursuit, smacking it toward the other end of the pitch. Liam's strength surprised even him. It went further than it had ever gone last year, and he glowed with inner-happiness. He didn't have long to contemplate this though. Sergios was well-able for the bludgers, he dodged them quickly, but it was irritating Liam that the bludgers were around the seeker, in a match; he would be key to winning. He swept up the pitch, a swift blow with his right arm sent the bludger wheeling away from the players, it would be back, but he had some time.

It was hard, blocking the bludgers when there were other beaters in competition, but Liam felt he held his own. He never lost focus, Quidditch was just so exhilarating, and he found himself completely absorbed in it. By the time the tryouts were over, his brow was covered in a glossy sheen of sweat, and his muscles were tired, but nobody was hurt, and he was fairly sure he'd done well. He nodded his thanks to Aphrodite, and wished the others well, before heading up to the Gryffindor Tower, he needed a bath, and something to eat. Beating away Bludgers was tiring work.

Kyle was grinning as he walked down to the very familiar Qudditch pitch of his school. It was sunny and still slightly windy but Kyle always enjoyed some wind, it made the game more fun. This year he was hoping to accomplish something qudditch wise. He had wasted just too much time in the past and if he did not do something then he might never have a carrier as an International Qudditch player. The teenager was dressed in simple blue denims and a checkered black and red shirt. He saw the familiar faces of Gryffindor housemates already gathered on the pitch with the Head Girl who was their captain. He had congratulated her yesterday in the common room so he did not want to make a fool out of himself by mentioning it again and again. It was the same like the past two years. He was trying out again as a Chaser. Over the past year Kyle had grown taller and he was hoping that this would be in advantage for Qudditch. Once they were given the instructions, the young Gryffindor said his name "Kyle Cavanaugh. Trying out for Chaser". The boy was hoping that this year he would proove something to his father. Every time Kyle thought about home, his father came to his mind. Kyle wanted to prove to his father that he could play Qudditch and become successful.

Once the Captain gave the green signal, Kyle mounted his Scarlet Streak and kicked off from the ground, elevating slow and steady. He had paired himself with someone who was trying out for Keeper. He was going to try and score while the keeper stopped him. Then after a while, Kyle was going to team up with others trying out for Chaser and do some throws and passes. Once the Quaffle was released, Kyle raced forward to try and catch it. Luckily for him, he did catch the big red ball and tucked it tightly under his right arm. He flew forward, gaining speed and leaning on his broom. He found the keepers and the goal posts. Thinking which one would be the best to score in, he made a quick decision. He aimed the ball at the top most hoop and threw it. It was intercepted. The keepers seemed to have been working on their skills in the holidays but so was he. Taking the ball again he decided to team up with another Chaser. Two more Chasers were going to go offensive on them. His partner and him, did a good work as they passed the Quaffle to each other, flying towards the hoops. Midway they were attacked by a few bludgers but someone trying out for beater took care of that and they flew. Kyle caught the Quaffle in mid air and then without waiting for a second he threw it towards the left hoop. The Keeper was expecting the other student to take the aim and this gave him a moment's advantage. It was all the boy needed. He grinned as he watched his Quaffle fly through the hoop.

A few more minutes into the tryouts, Kyle had managed to score three times out of his total five tries. He kept playing. Helping the other Chasers, Beaters and Keepers with their tryouts. Qudditch was fun, it took his mind off depressing things and allowed him to focus his energy onto something that mattered. The Keepers and Beaters were doing great. Kyle hoped they would win Qudditch this year especially since it was the Head Girl's last year as a Captain. After an hour, Kyle flew lower and touched down. He hit the showers and then the Great hall to grab some lunch.

Caroline arose quickly this morning when the sunlight began streaming into her window. Today was the day that Aphrodite, quidditch captain and head girl, was holding tryouts to make the Quidditch team this year. Last year, Caroline had been able to play in the one game that they had even though she had technically been an alternate. This year she was really hoping to make the team as a first string player. While she knew that was unlikely as a second year, she had really been practicing over the break. She had spend long hours outdoors flying as it was only one more way to escape her parents scathing looks. Caroline dressed quickly in her robes before grabbing her broom and heading down to the pitch. Once there, she saw several of her fellow Gryffindors already there. Caroline smiled and waved at Aphrodite who she very much respected. Aphrodite gave them all instructions that were the same as they had been last year. Caroline waited her turn before giving her introduction. "Caroline Beckett. I am trying out for Chaser." she said with a smile.

Caroline waited patiently for Aphrodite to give the signal before she flew into the air. She started off her tryout by taking a few high speed laps around the pitch. She wanted to show that she could control her broom and her movements while speeding along the pitch. Speed was important as a chaser as her job was to gain and maintain possession of the Quaffle. That was what Caroline needed to show Aphrodite next. She needed to prove that she could score goals and work with the other chasers. Caroline joined the group trying out for chaser. She passed and caught the Quaffle as they flew up and down the pitch. Caroline grinned brightly, and her hair shifted to a lighter shade of blonde unintentionally. She felt the most free when she was in the air. Caroline caught a spare Quaffle and turned back to the person who was guarding the goal. She took several shots at the goal with all but two of them soaring through the goal post. It seemed that studying the professional chasers and their moves had indeed helped her.

After an hour or so of flying, Caroline landed lightly on the ground. Overall, she was pleased with her performance and hoped that her captain was as well. There were many really excellent players on the pitch today. Caroline knew that it would not be easy to decided who to start and who to name as alternates. Either way, Gryffindor was looking good for the season. The blonde had faith in her team and the potential that they had all shown on the pitch today. The second year left with a bright smile on her face, excited about the year.

Theseas believed he had the chance to finally shine away from his twin's shadow. The note about Quidditch tryouts on the common room's board was exactly the kind of opportunity he was looking for. When he noticed that first years were invited to test their skills, he grabbed his broom from his dormitory and snapped the announcement from the board before leaving for the pitch. In that way his brother wasn't going to get informed about the tryouts.

It wasn't hard to find the Quidditch pitch after all. The tower stands with the houses' colors were standing out in the distance. Theseas followed the shortest path while he was late. Before entering inside the pitch, he noticed that people were already flying around on their brooms. He noticed a blonde girl supervising at the middle of the pitch and guessed she was the captan.
"H-hello." he greeted sheepishly, almost blushing when he earned the attention of the girl.
"I'm named Theseas, Theseas Stratis." he stated his name first, tightening his grip around his broom handle in an attempt to relieve his tention. His soulful grey eyes flashed when he noticed the Quaffle being passed from player to player in the air.
"And I would like to try out as a chaser." he finally said, now more confident than before. The Quaffle was tempting him as it was changing hands.

He took a deep breath and kicked the ground sending himself like an arrow to the skies. He decided to warm up first with a couple of laps around the pitch. When he felt comfortable with the location, he decided to join the action as older students had already started playing. He tried several times to get the attention of those who had the possession of the Quaffle but in vain. It seemed he was invisible among the more experienced players. He didn't give up, it was one of the few times he wasn't giving up easily. He was passionate about Quidditch. He was aspiring to become a professional player after school, at least this was the plan for now. Theseas decided to follow closely the game and be more observant, weighing the opportunities suddenly appearing. When an opponent passed the Quaffle he darted towards it and stole before anyone else was able to get it. While being small-boned compared to the rest of the team players, he managed to reach the goalposts with ease and before was anyone able to react. Soon the spinning Quaffle passed through the left golden hoop.

While there weren't many people in the air yet as they were preparing to mount their brooms, he decided to head straightaway to the gleaming goal-posts. When he was there, he sent the quaffle, slicing through the middle hoop.
He retrieved the quaffle just before reaching the ground and this time passed it to a team player. He zoomed towards the center of the pitch, keeping an eye on the player that was in possession of the quaffle each time. He tipped over to grab the quaffle that was passed to him and flew closer to the hoops. He noticed a teammate closer to the opposite team's goal-posts and passed the quaffle there just before a player of the opposite team tried to stole it from him. His teammate scored a nice goal and Minoas flew to give him a high five. The game continued with Minoas scoring twice but also losing the quaffle from another player who approached him from behind. Since there were a bunch of new players, Minoas decided to lent a hand to Aphrodite and serve more passes to the new players in order to attempt to score. That was going to help them see their true potential.

There was no much time left to have another moment and show his potential. That for being late. However, he had managed to show he was capable to assist the team if needed. Although he wanted to keepl playing, he returned back to the ground with the rest of the team. After saying goodbye to the captain he headed back to the castle, glad that he could enjoy himself without his twin around.
