Aphrodite was excited for another year of Quidditch to unfold. Surprisingly she had been picked alongside Rakas to be a Captain. Apparently they had been given the chance due to their experience, their ability to share the Quaffle, and they both happened to be team players who didn't try to overrun the team, or so Aphrodite had been told. The Gryffindor Fourth year was just happy in general to be given a chance. She was eager to try and help her team win. Smirking at Rakas beside her, whom was eating cake as usual, she clapped her hands loudly to get the attention of the Gryffindor's. "Welcome everyone!" Aphrodite smiled cheerfully. It looked like a good crop of students had arrived to the tryouts. She already expected to see some amazing skills displayed today! Aphrodite took a moment to make sure everyone was ready and listening before she spoke again, her voice loud and smooth. She hoped it made her sound like she was serious about this. "Okay guys, pleas state your name and position that you are trying out for, then proceed to tryout. Anyone who is trying out to be a Chaser, grab a quaffle and practice passing and such. You can also try to score. Keepers, go to the hoops guard. If you need someone to throw some Quaffles for you to block one of the Chasers or I will help out. Beaters, go grab a bat and practice hitting some bludgers and guarding the team. Lastly, Seekers, there are some golden snitches flying around, so practice chasing after and if you can...catching the snitch. Good luck everyone, and try your best!" Aphrodite smiled and motioned for them to get started. Hopefully she would have some talented players step forward today. After all, she was looking for a victory this year for the Gryffindor's. Last year may not have been their year, but she was going to change that! Aphrodite glanced at Rakas again, hopefully he was paying attention.

OOCOut of Character:
Okay guys, this is a bit of a change. It just requires one post! Just state your arrival and your try out into one. Make it creative. I am hoping that this time, this will help others with a limit on time. If your student has questions feel free to post them here, and I or Rakas will answer to them accordingly.

Minoas wasn't expecting the Quidditch try outs to begin so soon at the beggining of the term, yet the young lion was ready to put his heart and soul in it with the same amount of enthusiasm as he had the very first time he mounted a broom. By entering into the Quidditch pitch with the tower stands casting their shadows on the freshly cut lawn, he realised how much he had missed the sport and the competition it could offer. He saw in the distance two figures standing out of the group. He recognised immidiately Aphrodite and as he was getting closer he made out that the guy next to her was Rakas, obviously the new team captains since Damian had graduated.
"Hello guys! Kudos to you for becoming captains!" he congratulated them as they must have proved themselves to be chosen by professor Kingsley for the captain's task. "I'll be trying out again for a chaser." he said and joined the group of the ambitious, future players. He listened carefully as Aphrodite was explaining what she was expecting from them and he nodded before mounting his broom and kicked to soar in the air.

He teammed up with other students that wanted to play as well as chasers. Minoas had no problem with competition, the best were going to shine. He took first the possesion of the quaffle, feeling great that he was touching again the scarlet ball after so much time. He flew in a zigzaging pattern before passing it to another chaser who was closer to him. The distinguish sound of a bludger buzzed into his ears and he immediately executed a perfect barrel roll. He was hanging underneath his broom, facing the passing bludger against the clean sky as it was passing over him.
As the iron ball had moved on, he swirled back on his normal position, on his broom. As soon as he had recovered from his barrel roll, he caught with the corner of his eyes, the quaffle zooming towards him. He extended a hand and caught in the air, securing it into his embrace. Chaos was prevailing along the pitch as there were so many people flying at the same time. He noticed that another chaser that was playing as the opponent, was approaching him for a chance to snatch the quaffle. Minoas didn't risked it and with a feint, his passed it to his teammate that was trying to assist him, fooling his opponent.

Now that the spotlights weren't on him as he didn't had the possesion of the quaffle, he sped up, blurring everything around him, accepting the stinging of the wind on his face. As he was closer to the hoops and his teammate was getting cornered by their opponents, the quaffle soon found its way towards him. With an excellent synchronized spin, he hitted the quaffle intensively with the brush of his scarlet streak, zooming the ball directly in the middle hoop like a red rocket. A smile formed on his face, delighted to see that his skills hadn't been rusty after his long holidays. He retreated back to the center of the pitch, flying lower while studying the counterattack of their opponents. He was waiting for the right time and when the player with the possesion of the quaffle was almost above him, Minoas launched himself like a dolphin out of the water and with his fist, he knocked out of the opponent's grip, the quaffle. He didn't hesitated a bit, he grabbed the ball in the air and with a spinning throw, he passed to his closer teammate. He flew higher, following his teammates in possesion to assist them. When he noticed that the opponent chasers were threatening their possesion of the quaffle, he dropped himself like a meteor downwards, right in between his teammate with the quaffle and his pursuers, making them slow down and stop abruptly to avoid the collision. That gave to his teammate the opportunity to attempt and score.

Rakas had been chosen along side with Aphrodite Snow for Co-captain. Damian had told him personally the reasons why, which was working together as a team, not attempting to take charge, which Rakas was more of a push-over than anything, and finally, he had a lot of experience on the team. Rakas' flaming red hair was messed up to the point where it looked like he had just gotten out of bed. He was currently leaning against the broom, on Aphrodite's right side. He didn't have any plans to be talking right now. He was currently eating a cauldron cake, his green eyes looking across the pitch. He didn't expect to have any sort of titles to his name. He almost had not wanted it. But alas, he has it. Rakas thought of himself to be more or less a guide for Aphrodite whom seemed to be better at taking charge than he was. Rakas finished his cake, and then he got out a notepad. It already had his and Aphrodite's names on it, and their positions. He would fill it out as more Gryffindors got here. He smiled at Aphrodite when she told the team what they needed to do. He cracked his neck and he looked up to admire some the skills of the Gryffindor team. Rakas didn't know any of these people personally, but he was not the most sociable person. He was friendly, but he was also shy. Rakas nodded at the younger third year when he congratulated them on becoming captains. He wrote down the names and the positions down neatly, before he nudged Aphrodite playfully, and showed her what he was doing to help out. She seemed to be the voice, but Rakas wanted to show that he was going to help out. If they needed more beaters up, then he would take to the skies, but for now, he thought that he would be better off on the grounds. His green eyes went back up to the skies, seeing the Gryffindors try out and go at it. He hoped that they would be able to win this year. They had lost out last year, but the year before that, Damian won the game for them. Rakas wanted a blowout game one day.

Sergios was dressed in his Quidditch robes that he had bought over the break. He also brushed his long hair, and his brown eyes were shining with delight. It was Quidditch try outs, beginning so early in the team. He did not get to know how Damian ran the team the year before, but he would get to be with others as well. Sergios may be a second year, but he hoped that he would be able to make the team. He didn't know what position that he wanted to play, but he had the fastest broom, a scarlet Streak, so he might either go for Chaser or Seeker. His eyes were rather sharp, so he might just go for seeker. He didn't want beater because that was what his siblings had, except Ostensia, but she was a Chaser. Even though Quidditch was not her thing. He approached the Quidditch pitch with a sense of pride to him. He looked over at the other two, the older students that he assumed to be the captains. Holding the broom close to him, he announced, "Hey! I'm Sergios Romanes, and I am going to try out for Seeker." He hoped that he would be able to get it too, he wanted to be able to be on the team. After the girl explained to them what they were going to be doing, he heard his role. He did not know how many golden snitches there were, but he would have an excellent job at finding and catching them. His confidence right now was through the clouds. Sergios knew just what he would need to do. Mounting the broom, and he took off through the skies, dodging around others in Quidditch robes. Sergios continued to fly around, where he wondered where those blasted snitches were, because he could not see a single one of them! Sergios swerved around as a bludger dared to come near him however he managed to dodge it without getting hit. Letting out a single sigh, he moved forward toward the north hoops before he managed to see a glimmer of gold in the skies, closer to the hoops. He soared forward to go toward the snitch as it hovered, and he continued to chase around it, his hand outstretched toward the golden ball that would in turn change the entire outlook of a game. In his mind, he could hear people chanting for Gryffindor, for him to catch the snitch.

Everything in his mind was non-existent, but it was still helping out the young lion as he soared forward, and he swerved just as the golden snitch started to go back up toward the south end. Oh he was not going to let that little bugger get away. He forced the broom to go even faster, and he felt that he was nothing but a streak up that pitch. Dodging another bludger, he managed to swerve again, and he reached out, and caught the little ball, his fingers gripping the gold as tight as he could. Holding the snitch up, he beamed, and slowed to a stop. "Yeah!" He released it and went to find another one as the snitch took off. After some time of flying around, Sergios had managed to catch the snitch again, which was a relief. He loved the fact that he was getting to be better at seeking. Sergios was hoping that no one else was trying out for seeker because he really wanted the position. He wanted to have the glory to himself, call him selfish, but he kind of was to an extent. He always got rather competitive when it came down to sports. Though his favorite would always be soccer, because he loved to run, and then dribble the ball, which was different from basketball, something that he had learned while researching. He continued to fly around, and try out as much as he could before the captains would call them down.

Briar was furious with the choice of quidditch captain for this year. She had been hoping to get quidditch captain when Damian left since her fourth year, and who got it, the stupid fourth year Aphrodite. Briar had been on the team longer than that girl had even been in the school. She trained harder, and played harder, the little blonde had not even attempted to catch the ball once she had passed it to her last match causing them to loose possession, and she had to go after it again. And then once the match was over she had disappeared to the change rooms for a shower when the rest of the team had commiserated together. Even if they had got a broken nose. What the hell did Aphrodite have that she didn’t? She thought she knew the answer. Veela blood. That was it, Damian must have wanted to keep a veela in charge of the team, a pretty veela who could make people do what they wanted. Why pick a hotheaded werewolf over a veela. Briar was in such a mood about the situation that almost didn’t show up for tryouts. But at the last moment she decided she loved the sport too much to stop now, especially if she wanted to play professionally which she did, she had had tryouts for the professional teams and a few seemed interested in her. The tryouts had been scheduled for the day after a full moon, which meant that Briar wouldn’t have had any proper sleep for going on 30 hours. But she would still play hard, she had her energy back, it was a good job it hadn’t been scheduled for the day before or she would have been near drained. She got dressed for the tryouts in her dorm, red leggings, her red Gryffindor singlet and usual red converse. Her outfit coupled with her red hair and scarlet streak made her near imposable to miss. She then near skulled a cup of near cold coffee, not a drink she liked but something needed to give her energy for the tryouts. The seventh year then picked up her starlet streak and left the house and once in the corridor the seventh year opened a window and slipped through it mounting her broom as she fell, that shock boosted her adrenaline and woke her up a little. She flew over to the quidditch pitch and landed before the captains, Aphrodite and Rakas. Rakas she liked, he was a good player and although he hadn’t been able to play in the last game she respected the choice to make him captain. ”Morning Rakas, morning Aphrodite. Congratulations on being made captain, I’m Briar Rowan, and am trying out for Chaser, though I want to have a go at beater too this year” she said smiling at them, she didn’t let a hint of what she really felt about the choice show, instead she went to stand by her brother as they waited for instructions.
Soon they were in the air and flying. her lack of sleep didn't matter, the fact she was on the quidditch pitch joint with the caffein she had just drunk was enough to keep her wind awake. There were a couple of quaffles out so she took one and flew with it, for a few moments before passing it to her brother. A moment later a different one came from the opposite direction, she took that one and flew with it for a few moments looping someone who was on attack then she threw it hard and accurately over her shoulder to another chaser who she didn’t have chance to see properly. Then came the third. By this time she was nearly at the hoops. she snatched it out of the air and took a shot, not sure if the keeper caught it she turned around ready for defense. She flew towards one of the players who had a scarlet ball and creping up above them dropped in front of them taking the quaffle on her fall before rising again and assign it back, then she headed down to the pitch. He landed by the captains. ”do you want me to have a go at beater now?” she asked rakas. Taking a bat from the rack and feeling it balanced in her hand, she hadn’t played beater for the team before but she often came down to the pitch when she was mad and set as many bludgers as she could find on herself. It was certainly a good way to relieve anger and stress.

Rakas continued to jot down names, and watch from the ground. His green eyes were narrowed. He didn't know the second year, but from what he could see, that Romanes could really catch a snitch. 'So Isabella isn't the only one with seeking skills, this could be good for us!' thought Rakas with a charming, goofy smile. He wrote down some notes, before he looked over at Aphrodite to see what she was doing. Captain stuff more or less. Try outs were still underway when he heard someone speaking to him. It was Briar, the werewolf, also someone that seemed to not get along so well with Aphrodite. Last year, to him, Damian had to separate them. Rakas shrugged, "That didn't take long to try out for Chaser. Grab a bat and have at it, Rowan." He looked toward Aphrodite. He remembered the last game, and every detail of it. He turned his green eyes to the werewolf before he wondered, if she would even be a good beater or not. Rakas looked over at the Part-Veela girl once more, before he looked toward the skies. The game last year didn't go over too well. There wasn't teamwork, and Damian saw that. Rakas had too. It seemed that in his honest opinion, some people here were just too competitive and didn't think of Quidditch as a game, which it was. As long as people had fun. Rakas though, knew that his time here was short, and Aphrodite would pan well without him. She was a good girl. Just a little vain.

Philippa had no idea why she had not tried out for Quidditch last year. It was on her list of things to do but she never got around to it. But this was her chance to possibly make the team. Philippa loved sports. Without them in her life, she was sure to go mad. There was nothing more wonderful than the feeling of adrenalin filling one's system, or even the euphoric feeling of winning a game. Philippa liked both muggle sports and Wizarding sports. Of course she wasn't as good at muggle sports as she was at Wizarding ones, but they were all fun to play either way. The only thing Philippa could hope for today was to do her best and hopefully impress the captains. Excitement bubbled inside Pippa's stomach as she approached the pitch hurriedly. The new broom she had purchased during the summer was tucked gingerly between her fingers. She wanted to be a Beater. Her father always told her that she was pretty good with a bat. Hopefully what he said was true and she was able to shine today. When she was close enough to the captains and able to get a good look, Philippa felt better about her tryouts today. Rakas was the first one she recognized. she had always find out to be really funny and really cute. Even if he was a lot older than she was. They had never spoken before either. So it was kind of no big deal that she thought it was cute either. He always seemed to be eating cake too. Philippa sometimes wondered how he avoided getting a stomachache, or getting fat. The other captain was only someone a year older than she was. Aphrodite was a fourth year, and not only was she really pretty, but she was also really sweet. It was easy to see how they had gotten chances at being captains. They were really easy to get along with. "Congratulations on getting Captain you guys! I'm here to try out for Beater!" Philippa explained to the two of them before she was given the go-ahead to proceed with her tryout. This was the moment of truth! Grabbing a bat from the trunk, Philippa mounted her broom and flew into the air with intense speed. Once she was high enough she checked to see where the Bludgers were.

Philippa spotted the traveling bludger and leaned forward to fly toward it. Easily she caught up to the viscous ball and smacked swung her bat at it. It made a loud crack as the bludger flew away quite a distance away. Philippa silently cheered. Sure it was only her first hit, not to mention an easy one. But she hadn't expected it to go that far. Another bludger flew toward her and she was able to smack that one away too, this one going a little bit further than the last. Gripping the bad even more tightly, Philippa flew around, hitting the bludgers away from people trying out for other positions. The bludgers were relentless little devils. Philippa nearly got smacked in the face by a couple of them. Luckily she was able to duck just in time. Philippa hit a couple more bludgers, by the time she had hit at least five in a row, she was ready for one last hit. Philippa spotted a bludger headed her way and readied herself to take one last swing. Gripping the bat with both hands she swung as hard as she could and watched the ball fly back. Philippa found it important that she could use both hands and balance on her broom if needed. When her last shot was taken she landed back on the ground and smiled at the captains. Hopefully they should she was okay enough to at least consider.

Edward was walking fastly as fast as he could, carrying his own broomstick, Streak, Emerald when someone told him if he still wanted to be one of the Gryffindor Quidditch Team. There was a Quidditch Try Out in a Quidditch Pitch and Edward wanted to be on their team, wanted to be their Quidditch Seeker. Edward has a talent from being a Seeker because he have once it tried in his garden's house using his small broomstick and used his talking parrot that flies swiftly to be his Snitch for awhile since he was 7 and sometimes his sister, Laura throw some three nightingales which it was their pet and he caught all of it successfully. He's eyes were very sharp like vampires have. He also know the moves because he have practiced it all in years. He didn't know if it is okay to wear his Quidditch robes in try outs besides, it was only his first time to go there. He reached the Quidditch Pitch and saw the other members who were practicing and talking what they were going to do. Edward took a deep breath and continued to walk towards the Quidditch Pitch. There was an older member who was the Quidditch Captain of the team who was standing alone watching the members move. He walked towards her, shaking off his fear and said, "Excuse me, I'm Edward Bridge. Second Year. I want to try out for Seeker." he said respectfully. He didn't know if he was the one will be chosen besides, there was the other one who asked too to be their Seeker and he saw how he moves perfectly. Edward took a great gulp and waited for the Captain's answer. Finally the captain nodded and suddenly pulled out the Golden Snitch. First, she explained to Edward about the role of the Seeker, he must avoid the Bludger and watch out for the Snitch. Edward heard about the Golden Snitch many times and it flies very quickly. After the explanation, the Captain asked Edward to show his ability. Edward clambered to his Streak, Emerald while he's heart pounding and rose up high, high into the air. He's heart pounding not because of to high above the air, it's because he didn't know what will happen to him. You can do it Edward, show what you've got. said a voice to Edward's ear. He looked down the ground waiting for the Golden Snitch, watching out if they were Bludgers going to hit him. After a couple of seconds, the Captain threw the Snitch above the air far from Edward. Edward saw it the appearance of the Snitch, he followed it swiftly. But just as he was focusing to the Snitch, he saw the Bludger coming towards him. His eyes widened and avoided it while putting his head down. Then he continued flying. His tension were gone now

The Snitch was flying swiftly and Edward couldn't catch it eagerly because of the Bludger coming. He flew very swiftly avoiding the Bludger, he was trying to get the Snitch. The Bludger couldn't stop following him but it seems, Edward doesn't really care, he really wanted to be a Seeker. He soared sideward when the Bludger was going to hit him again. Edward was sweating now and his blue eyes were on the Snitch but his mind was also on the Bludger. He thought that it was the only one that keeps on following him but no, there was another one Bludger. But this one can stop following Edward. Now the Snitch was disappeared. This game will be difficult but Edward's beliefs will be in his heart. Just look for the Snitch. He fly and fly very fast and after a couple of seconds the Bludger showed up again and it going to hit Edward again but he did not hesitate he flew in circle once like a roller coaster and back to normal. The presence of the Snitch was still missing. Edward keep his eye in every place he see. After 3 minutes he saw the Snitch! It was below the circle of the hoop. This time Edward forced his broom to go fly fastly like a flash while the two Bludgers was going to hit him. Now Edward has no time to avoid the Bludger that keeps following him, he must get the Snitch. The Snitch keeps flying away but it was near to Edward's hand. The Bludger was going to hit him! But Edward soared upward again and followed the Snitch. "Come on now!" he whispered. He's trying to reach it by his pale right hand. His hand was very near at the Snitch now and the Bludger was near to hit him! And in just one blink, he got the Snitch! And started to turn around to avoid the Bludger then it just flew away and stopped following him. Everyone clapped and he flew down. He thinks that they just keep holding the Bludger and just threw it on Edward because they were testing him.

Faxen Lowart made her way down to the pitch. She was a 6th year this year and had never tried out for the House quidditch team, but that did not mean that she was not a skilled Quidditch player. Normally, she simply played with her siblings or friends. However, Dymetris had encouraged her to try out, last year, when they were speaking. The gryffindor girl could not help but be angry with the Hufflepuff boy. He hadn't spoken to her since the day before the gossip magazine was published. Faxen smiled at Briar and Rakas, the two people she recognized. She went to speak to Rakas and the captain that she was not familiar with after Aphrodite had given them all instructions. "I'm Faxen Lowart. I will be trying out for chaser." she said with a smile to both of them.

Faxen looked towards the sky where some of her housemates were already flying. The brunette was a slender, thin girl of average height. Her slim figure tended to work in her favor since people underestimated her strength and it allowed her to be quick and fast. All of the things a good chaser was. Faxen hopped on her Streak and flew into the air. It was a crystal blue day and the air was refreshing. She decided to do two high speed warm up laps before starting her practice with the Quaffle. Faxen pushed her broom to its highest speed. The Gryffindor girl grinned as the wind whipped around her. Faxen Lowart realized just how much she had missed flying in the past few weeks.

At the end of her second lap, she slowed down summoned a Quaffle from down below. She really wanted to impress the captains with her speed and accuracy of shooting the Quaffle. Faxen dodged bludgers that the beaters swatted towards her with easy accelerations, climbs, and drops. Faxen grinned as the Quaffle remained securely under her arm. She zoomed down to the North hoops where the Keeper was moving back and forth in anticipation of the incoming chaser.

Faxen looked the keeper dead in the eye with a smirk on her pretty face. She winked before feinting a shot at the left hoop before firing it with an incredible amount of strength through the far right hoop. The Quaffle soared through the hoop and Faxen grinned triumphantly. The brunette circled around the hoops, grabbing her falling Quaffle, and then kicked her broom into full speed as she raced back to the Southern hoops. Faxen flew in a zig zag pattern avoiding all the bludgers that were aimed at her.

Three more times Faxen flew down the pitch, avoiding obstacles and other players. She managed a score on every completion though she nearly missed on her third attempt. She then passed the Quaffle back and forth with another player as they sped down the pitch, showing that she did work well as a teammate. All too quickly, it seemed tryouts were over. Faxen landed her broom on the soft ground. Overall, she was happy with her tryout as she went back to the common room to shower and change clothes.

Riley made her way down to the Quidditch pitch for the fifth time in her years at Hogwarts; it would also be the last time she would be going to try out. Her life had been shambled for the last few years, and even though she always made the team, she was yet to play a game. Riley understood why though; her head was in it but her heart wasn't. This year she was going to be sure that she would play in the game - her last year! She had too. It wasn't fair to watch everyone else in the air, playing the game, and not her. The game last year didn't even seem like it was much fun to anyone, Riley thought.
Moving her streak to under her arm, Riley grabbed her red hair and pulled it back into a ponytail before reaching the Quidditch captains. "Hey guys. Congrats on making Captains! I'm Riley Sparkles, and I'm here to try out for Chaser." She smiled. After listening to the instructions and hearing the okay, Riley mounted her broom and took off in the air. The feel of the rush of air against her skin was an experience she missed. Riley didn't understand how people couldn't enjoy being on a broomstick, it was, well, magical.
After a quick couple of laps, enjoying the feel of being in the air again, Riley rejoined the group and watched as Stratis took position of the quaffle. She flew close to him, staying near him just in case he needed to throw it to her. Riley knew that in try-outs, the players were going to keep the quaffle as long as they could to prove they were good, but luckily Minoas threw the quaffle to her. Riley sped up, taking quick turns and zig-zagging around the field, to through off any attackers. Quickly rolling under her broom to avoid a bludger, Riley rolled back up and threw the quaffle to another chaser. Regaining her balance, Riley fell back into her place behind the chasers, making sure she was there when needed.
Riley grinned and did a quickly loop in the air when Minoas scored, before quickly returning to the game. Riley watched Faxen, who was also doing well, and tailed her incase she needed help. Riley cheered when Faxen scored, and stuck close, and eventually she got the quaffle again. Holding it close to her chest, Riley zoomed across the field towards the hoops, dodging bludgers that were sent her way. Almost at the goals, Riley threw with all her strength towards the middle goal, praising herself for having not gotten bad during the holidays. The try-outs continued for awhile, and Riley stuck near the other chasers incase she was needed, and also scored a few more times which put her in a fantastic mood.
All in all, RIley was pleased with the way she performed. She gave smiles and hugs to all her hopeful soon-to-be teammates before heading off to the showers.

Peter had been waiting for this day since he had entered the school, Quidditch try-outs. He was a little disappointed that he wasn’t able to try out last year but he figured it was better to watch the game last year and some of the try-outs to see what it would be like competing against the other teams, see how people performed in the air and maybe take some tips from them, all in all he felt much more prepared now that he would have if he was to try out last year. He had spent the last few weeks trying to figure out what position he wanted to try-out for, he felt he could have been good at most positions but he needed to figure out which one he would be best at if he was to get on to the team. After much consideration he had decided that he was going to try out as the keeper. It was a good position, far from easy though, but he was small enough to be agile on the broom and when he would practice at home he found it the best position. Plus he knew the likes of chasers and beaters were popular with everyone trying out as they were positions that got the most action in a game but being keeper was just as important and he was more than happy with the idea of just being able to watch the game from his hoops and being able to watch where people were coming from so he could enhance his chances of blocking the shots.

Just like any other day Peter was as energetic as ever and was ready to get this show on the road. As he was getting ready he saw a few people leaving the common room with brooms in hand and figured they were already heading down to the pitch not wanting to be late he quickly put on his jeans and t-shirt and started to run out of the common room putting on his socks and shoes as he made his way down through the corridors and down to the castle doors. By the time he was at the entrance hall he had finally finished getting fully dressed he took a moment as the smell from the Great Hall made its way under his nose. Figuring he had a minute to spare he went into the Great Hall and put a few slices of bacon in between two pieces of toast and made his way down to the Quidditch Pitch as he munched on his food, he’s need some energy before today. Arriving on the pitch he popped the last piece of toast into his mouth and saw the red headed and the blonde co-captains. Making his way over to them he introduced himself, not realising just how much food was still in his mouth. “Hi I’m Peter Lurken, trying out for Keeper.” was what he was meant to say, but what really came out was a lot of crumbs and mumbling. Swallowing his food he cleared his throat real quick and tried again. “As I said. Peter Lurken and trying out for Keeper. Sorry about that.” he said, laughing awkwardly as he walked away from the co-captains and got ready for his orders.

After listening to the instructions Peter looked up to the sky, it was such a good day for try-outs and he knew it was going to be a good day for him too. Picking up his broom he swung his leg over and kicked off the ground with a good speed. Flying towards the hoops he did a few laps around them so he could get a quick feel of the air. It was good to be up here, he had only got to fly a few times during the holidays but with the baby he had to stay in the house and help his mum from time to time while his dad was at work and then visa versa when his mum was at work. Hovering in front of the center hoop Peter watched the chasers and beaters were flying around in front of him, waiting until one of the chasers got the quaffle and made their way over to him. Looking at them head on he didn’t break eye contact with them until he saw the quaffle flying towards him. It was a pretty shitty throw as it landed right in his arms with very little effort from him. Throwing it back into the game he watched everyone zig zag in front him, dodging the odd bludger himself as the beaters were nowhere near him. As he tried to dodge another bludger he cursed because for starters the beaters clearly weren’t doing their job right if he had to dodge them himself and secondly because as he turned around he saw a quaffle flying into the hoops beside him. Flying around he caught it and threw it back into the game. Angry at himself he knew he only had one more shot before he had to let anyone else trying as keeper to switch over with him he made sure to not let anymore go in, well not at least without him trying to save the goal. The game, or try-out, went on for what seemed like an eternity until he saw someone coming towards him with a quaffle again. Locking eye contact on them he watched their every move he saw that they were trying to trick him by swerving a lot and as soon as they threw the quaffle he saw it going up to one of the taller hoops, quickly pulling up on his broom he reached one arm out and hit it out of the way before it reached the hoop. Grinning widely he went to catch the quaffle and threw it back into the game. Pretty proud of himself he made his way back down to the pitch and waited to see what else was going to happen, he wasn’t sure how long they’d have to wait until he found out if he made the team or not, he hoped it wouldn’t be long.

Briar was a little surprised that she had said beater. She had been thinking of the beaters roll a bit recently at the start of the holiday she had decided to look at the pictures that the had been left in the cavern. She had discovered that the red haired girl in most of the pictures was Andromada filorli who was the werewolf. And she had played beater in the Gryffindor quidditch team before she had started the school. She had also met the beater of the harpies who was a wolf animagus. It seemed like all the quidditch playing wolves were beaters and she had wondered why.
Briar picked up the beaters bat in her left hand and took for the skys again. She flew around chasing the bluddgers. There were a few more than in a usual game that was good for her. She raised her arm and brought it down towards a bludger that was making its way towards a couple of chasers. It went arching towards the stands. She flew again towards a different bluddger trying to force her eyes to remain open. She really needed to sleep. The previous night wasn’t her roughest transformation, but it certainly hadn’t been a smooth one. She saw another bludger heading towards a seeker. Leaning close to her broom she spread across the pitch and managed to get it at the last moment. ”sorry about that, hopefully next time I will be better” she said. Turning back towards the game. Her eyes were drawn by a quaffle arching through the sky. And she almost went and caught it but stopped herself just in time remembering which position she was meant to be in. and the reason why she was having to try out again, after being chaser on the team for the last five years. And not sleeping the night before was certainly intensifying her bad mood. She saw another bludger and flew towards it trying to bet away her grumpiness. It struck her bat hard and flew in the other direction towards the empty air. Smiling she went around looking for some more. Her head really wasn’t in it today. She paused in the air as she tried to focus herself. ”come on now briar. Come back to earth once you have done your try out you can go back to the castle and have a nice steak, and go to bed. She told herself. However this time in the air had caused her to loose attention briefly on the things around her thankfully she regained it as a bluddger came flying at her. She ducked it before taking the bat and hitting it where it had come from. She looked around the pitch there were a lot more people flying now than there had been when she had arrived. Maybe being beater wasn’t for her after all; she missed the scrum of the chasers. The rush over the quffle. The sport wasn’t the same without it. She landed again returning the bat before heading back to the skys. Flying among the other chasers she stifled a yawn. She really needed sleep. Trying to pay attention when the ball was passed to her by a boy who was keeper who she hardly recognized she caught it and darted up the pitch keeping an eye out for someone who she could pass to. She passed to Riley just before a bludger came her way. And she ducked it. She slew alongside Faxen as she took a shot at goal ready to guard her if someone decided to come on attack. She caught the next quaffle as it was passed to her. She flew with it ducking one of the seekers who was after the snitch, and swerving out of the way of a bludger. Once she got part way out she passed the ball to her brother. Letting him have a go at getting on the team, she knew how disappointed her had been when he hadn’t been allowed to chase in the match and she wanted him to have an active roll this year. She kept on playing like this going light battling waves of near exhaustion until the trials were over. She landed with everyone else. And smiled at the other players. ”well done” she said to them before turning to Rakus and Aphrodite. ”sorry if I seemed a little slow. It was a full moon last night so I hardly got any sleep so I am pretty dead right now” she said before waiting for the results. She preyed that her slowness in trial wouldn’t cost her the place on the team that she had held for years.
