Doyle had a pretty good sense of the school grounds. He didn't go exploring as much as some of his classmates, he just didn't share their curiosity. He usually just went back and forth to the quidditch pitch and maybe took a walk to the lake when he got the itch for it. The forest on the other hand felt like something that wasn't his business. He had to wrap his head around when it came to spells and potions, whatever cause the forest to be labeled 'forbidden' was frankly none of his business. Doyle had been in his head thinking about the letter he was going to write his dad, he had kept his head down looking at his feet when he felt the air cool due to the heavy shadows he had found himself in. Without realizing it he had ended up at the edge of the forest and he shivered involuntarily. He wanted to turn and walk away quickly but something kept him in place. Like he had stepped in quicksand but had yet to start sinking.

Mania had gone to the forest a few times now. She'd yet to be caught too so that was a huge success in her eyes. As she walked along the edge of the forbidden forest considering whether or not she should go in on her own or just stay out this time. Last time she'd gone there after the Heta and Brotherhood game, though that one had been more or less an accident. Eventually the want to go in won over the hesitation of whether she should go alone and the third year marched her way in.

Nia didn't make it too far when she saw someone else there. At first it nearly made her jump because she thought she was either about to get caught or just be in trouble for other reasons, but as she got closer she noticed it was Doyle. Nia knew the boy from classes and she'd even hung out with him at the first Halloween feast she'd had at the school. "Heya whatcha doing?" The Gryffindor asked with a grin as she reached the boy, she'd sort of been sneaking up to him, like a proper creep, without even realizing.
