Writing a letter in the early morning.

It was very early in the morning and the sun hadnt even risen.Jacob Cooper was walking in lazy strides accross the lawn.His messy brown hair flying behind him.His eyes scanned the surroundings to make sure that there werent any off the staffs there.It was pretty early after all..Jacob hadn't been to the owlery before because he hadnt wrote a letter to his parents since he had come.It had hit him the night before and he had decided that he would do so early in the morning.
He was now walking up to the taal tower that was the Owlery.He slowly started climbing the steps looking at the castle behind him.He was in a beautiful and fresh mood today.Smiling to himself he entered the owlery.
 
Libby was already in the owlery, sighing and looking out the window. She had just checked but her family hadn't replied to her most recent letter yet. She wondered how her brother was and whether he had been let out of hospital yet. The last she heard he had started slowly getting better, but that's all. She ran her hand through her long brown hair and turned round so her back now leant against the window. She saw someone enter the room and she smiled, "Hi Jacob" she hadn't seen anyone she knew in what felt like forever.
 
As Jacob entered he saw a girl whom he knew."Hello Libby.How are you?"he asked her.He was happy to get a chance of talking to Libby after seeing her for such a long time in classes and not getting a chance to chat.
 
"I'm..good" she replied not sure whether or not to tell him, Darren and Larissa didn't even know. "How about you?" she asked back smiling.
 
"I'm fine."he told her.He was glad that he had gotten a chance to talk to her.In the classes,they hardly sat near and in the Great hall it would look very wierd if a Slytherin would show up on the Hufflepuff table."You sending a letter?"he asked her taking out his letter and walking up to one of the owls.It was a snowy owl.He woke it up gently and gave him an owl treat and then tied his letter to his leg.
 
Libby watched as he attached his letter to a snowy owl. "No, i'm waiting for one from my family." she answered, "my brother was in hospital recently, and i sent them a letter wondering if he's out yet" she said. Jacob was defiantly one of the nicest Slytherin she'd ever met, and felt comfortable around him.
 
"Oh!I do hope he gets well soon.I haven't any siblings to know how it feels to be sent away and not to recieve any news."he said sympathetically.He finished tying the letter to the owl and then set it on the window and let it fly away.
 
"Thanks" she said. She had had her brother for as long as she could remember having only three years between them, and had been worried when he had gone into hospital even if he is permanently irritating, but who has a sibling that isn't?

"I don't see you around much apart from lesson. Where do you normally go?" she asked wondering.
 
"Well I am sometimes outside but I am mostly in the common room."he told her remembering the last time he had been out."I see you in some lessons.But we dont usually get a chance to talk between lessons."he stated.

((I actually joined in late so I haven't done any lessons :lol: ))
 
Libby thought that was probably why she had never seen him other than in class. She smiled, "Yeah," she agreed. She hadn't attended lessons recently but knew she would have to go back to them. Maybe after the semester though. "What do you think of this place?" she asked, refurring to the school. It was bigger than she had first imagined, even though she had read lots of books and her mother told her about Hogwarts Scotland.
 
"This place is pretty cool.You can at least escape to somewhere with friends.At my home I hardly see friends."he said .He was very keen on making and having fun with friends.

She smiled, "Yeah." she wondered if Larissa would still count her as her friend. Probably not, oh well. "Why don't you see much of your friends?" she asked, trying not to be nosy.

"Well all of my wizarding friends live in USA,so I dont see them much but sometimes when I go to my aunt's house in the summer I meet them.You know Sydney's not a place for wizards to live in."he added.He liked Sydney because of it's weather and it's muggle's lifestyle.
 
Yeah, she knew that. Too well. She lived in new zealand itself so it wasn't so bad for her, although she still was staying at the school over the holidays. The holidays wern't far away, but nether were the end of semester exams and Libby had yet to revise. She wondered what happened if you missed the exams, and pushed that thought back in her mind.

She stood up properly, dettaching herseld from the wall. She made a mental note never to tell Laris about Sidney and smiled at Jacob. "How are you finding lessons? It's nearly time we have a new timetable" she grinned excitedly, she couldn't wait to start charms. When she found out when she arrived at the school she was dissapointed in finding she would have to have waited until the semester, and it had arrived quicker than she had expected. "These last 6 months have gone really fast!" she said.
 
Now that Libery detatched herself from the wall,she came into a little light.Jacob thought that she was very pretty and her sunlit face was looking like it glowed from within.
"Yeah,they have.And now we come to these holidays.It will be my first Christmas in Hogwarts New Zealand.I am pretty excited about the holidays."he added.He hoped that he would not have to go back home.
 
Libby smiled calmly. "Same, i'm staying here over these holidays too." she replied. After a moment she asked, "Would you mind, i mean, if maybe, did you want to hang out sometime?" she asked hoping he wouldn't see her cheeks warming up. It would be good to spend some time with her friends, especially ones she wanted to get to know better.
 
"You took the words right out of my mouth Libby!"he exclaimed.He had wanted to ask her the same thing."Like,sure.It would be a pleasure."he said smiling.He wanted to know Libby better and to grasp the chance of making her a good friend.And he thought that he had a crush on her.

Libby smiled happily, relived he had wanted to too. She suddenly remember why she was here. "Um, i have to go, but ill see you later yeah?" she asked, and she would keep her word. She didn't want to but she knew Laris was waiting for her.
 
"Okay bye."he said waving to Libby."See you."
Today Libby had made his day and so he was happy.After sometime he walked down the steps and back to the castle.It was almost time for breakfast.
