Keyne Baros realized that it had been, literally, months since his wife was brutally murdered on his house. After he had found that, Keyne was definitely regretting ever screaming at her, but she had to know the truth. He wanted the divorce, and he just did not love her. He had to leave the house that night when she had accused him and his ex-wife of so many things, even though he had cheated on Suzanne with Leilani several times. Suzanne never knew. She also never knew that Keyne was perhaps falling in love with Leilani again. Or maybe, the love that he had always had for her since they were in school, never left but it was buried. That could easily be it. Keyne also recalled setting up the funeral, and while he was dealing with Suzanne's gruesome death, he and Leilani made love during the ceremony, though not in front of everyone. Perhaps it was a disgrace to her memory, but it still made him feel better. Keyne had sold the house that was in Washington, and moved into the beach house with Leilani. The beach house was nice, but Keyne wanted something bigger. So he was looking for another house. However Keyne had no intention of giving up this house either. Sometimes it was good to have two so that he could take his family on some vacations that he believed that they needed from time to time. Keyne adored his family even though all three of his children were almost adults, and it made him really emotional about it. Sometimes, one would say that he was more emotional than the mother of his children. Even now, it was hard to say that she was his ex-wife and not his actual wife. There were times when other people had questioned him about his feelings on Leilani, but he always answered them with the same thing, on how that he could never hate her and he would do anything for her. But that was the only time he would really talk to the press. Everything else, he just brushed away because he just did not like talking to them too much. Keyne had no reason to tell the press anything, unless it was about Leilani which did not happen often.
Today was going to be different though. Keyne had plans for today, which may result in plans later on in the evening. It had been quite a few months since the death of Suzanne, which did not grieve him as much as it just freaked him out on how brutal people could be. Keyne wanted to go on a date with Leilani, and the thing was, he had reservations already, but if she rejected, then he would be canceling them. He hoped that she would actually say yes. She was divorced now, and he was a widower. They had ever right to get back together, if she was interested that is. In a way he was somewhat scared to, but that was only because that the last time that they were together, and married, she divorced him. It was somewhat obvious that he was a changed man, though he could still be silly if he wanted to. The point was, he just didn't want things to repeat themselves. It was basically his fault last time, and he was wanting to prove himself worthy. Finding Leilani on the couch, Keyne sat down next to her, but gave her enough space so that he was not too close for comfort. Keyne gave her a charming smile, although one side of his smile, could be a smirk. She might recognize that when he did this, he was up to something. Keyne averted his brown eyes, and he inquired in a very, casual voice, almost too casual, "So, what do you have planned around eight o'clock this evening, Miss Thoreau?" Keyne stared ahead, and that look never vanished from his facial features. It had been too long since he had asked anyone out on a date. In fact, the last time he had been on a date was with Suzanne and he did not even ask for that one. She did. And now he was the one that was trying to pick out something for the two of them. At least the place that he had picked out was somewhat quiet, so they could actually treat it specially. Keyne waited quietly for his answer, because his heart was beating, almost too fast like from one of those old cartoons that was on TV of when a man or creature saw a sexy female.
