Samouel Kyle could very well say that today was not the best day. He had been through foster care, and he had been through too many people just giving him up so he closed himself off. As soon as he had to transfer from good old Salem to Durmstrang, his heart had crushed. He heard such bad things about Durmstrang, and did not know if he would even be accepted. So he was, and then he knew from there that he did not have muggle-born blood in him. He knew a fair bit about the magical world, but remembered very little about his home life before his parents were killed. The fact that Samouel could not even remember his own brother was bad. He thought that he had one, but he was not sure, and there was no way to find out. Let us just say, Samouel was not having a very good time adjusting to things when it came to moving. He just wanted to settle down, and actually start to live. Oh and get out of Durmstrang. The people here were rude, cruel and he did not like the Dark Arts because it was just horrible. The Dark Arts should not even be a subject for school, but why is it? Why did this school love to teach it and not allow muggle-borns? There had to be some sort of reason. Was it still in the Dark ages where there was still prejudice views around? He would never understand why there always would be, but truth be told, he did not even know his own blood status. While he was really a pure-blood, he believed that he was a half-blood or a mixed-blood since he was accepted by Durmstrang to come and learn. He sighed and he looked down as he packed his old backpack over his shoulders. His own clothing was worn in, and there were holes in his jeans. He had old clothing that he had for years and years, and he was starting to grow even more. He did not have much money, so he had no idea how he could afford new clothing.

His foster parents could afford it, but Samouel did not want to go to them, pleading for some new clothing when he will really just be tossed out to one family to another. He sighed and he almost dragged his feet going down the halls. However when a student, an older male, slammed into his shoulder, the fourth year lost balance and tumbled to the floor. He could hear the students laughing, but at least he did not spill all of his books everywhere. Samouel looked back and he shouted, "Nice walking, you jerk!" and Samouel cast them a very rude gesture, however it did not prove to scare them. He was small sized, so how in the world could someone of his age be taken seriously? He groaned and he wished that he had someone here with him, a cousin, a friend, whatever. But he was new to the school and he was virtually alone. "Everyone here can bite me anyway. A bunch of rotten jerks," muttered Samouel under his breath as he slowly got onto his feet. As soon as he was seventeen, he was going to move out, find a house, a good job, graduate from whatever school he wanted and do his own thing. He could not wait until he could do those things for himself, instead of having to rely on others. He used to be a good kid, laughing all of the time, smiling, cracking jokes. However being here at Durmstrang made him turn that stuff in, turned into a hollow shell and would not let anyone see his weaknesses. One had to be tough for this school.

Alessine brushed a handful of her hair out of her face and frowned, her friends were doing a terrible job at keeping her entertained this morning. Actually, as of late, they seemed to be doing a poor job at keeping her entertained ever. "That’s stupid." Alessine wrinkled her nose and turned her head away, almost as if she were disgusted just by looking at them. The whole group had been best friends for years now, but Alessine was starting to wonder how that had happened. They were nothing but a herd of sheep. They didn’t have their own ideas or values. They just did whatever Alessine told them to. Personally, that made them very boring in her eyes. When they were younger, she found it to be delightful fun. She felt like such a leader. What was the point of leading anything if one’s people were nothing but brainless zombies? There was no point, that’s what. Another suggestion was thrown into the mix and Alessine sighed in frustration. "Okay, I’m done. You guys are driving me nuts today." Alessine pulled her thin frame from the table she was sitting on top of and started off towards the Castle, her messenger bag flying out behind her, as she tried as quickly as she could to get away from her friends and their mediocre ideas. Sadly, sheep were a lot faster than Alessine thought them to be. They ran right after her, and followed her inside the castle. Alessine wanted to scream in frustration right then and there. What would her mother and father do in this situation? Oh, probably kill them. But Alessine didn’t feel like getting blood on her clothes or going to Azkaban. So that was out of the question…..for now anyways. If they kept it up she might just have to get over that. Alessine turned the corner just in time to see some boy make friends with the floor as she was knocked over.

"Ah, new meat!" Alessine stopped in her tracks, which also caused the herd of sheep behind her to stop too. Casually, they whispered questioningly as to why Alessine stopped so suddenly. The boy was talking to himself about his dislike for the students here. He must be having a rough time adjusting. Although Alessine did feel bad, being nice right off the bat wasn’t in her nature, especially to such a puny little boy. He didn’t look like he was a First year, but he also didn’t look like he was that old. Puberty must be avoiding this one. . "Surely we’re not all that bad." Alessine called out from behind him, hoping to get his attention. She was eager for a game of cat and mouse. Alessine just wondered how easy of a victim this boy was going to be. The more he struggled, the more fun it would be for Alessine to kick him back down again. If he proved himself worthy enough, she might even adopt him into her little group if he wanted to be. Then he could have some friends. Alessine approached the boy and rested her hands on her hips. Most people would describe Alessine as a diva, she would much rather prefer to be known as a future dictator or something. But it would be hard to change what people thought unless she found a way to convince them that she was right and that they were wrong. "You must be a transfer, or a first year. You’re quite small so it’s hard to tell. Either way, I’m Alessine Styx." She didn’t ask for his name. Chances were that he wouldn’t even tell her after she called him small. But sadly it was the truth. He was rather small for a boy. He may not be that way forever, but it didn’t matter much to Alessine whether he was or not. Right now he was small, and she was going to point it out.

Samouel sighed and he wanted to just get up and get out of the school. There was nothing for him here. He could not help that he was kind of skinny because he had lost his appetite for a few days. He did eat, and he was not anorexic or something, he just did not eat when he was stressed out. He also just nibbled on breakfast this morning. The new school really had him stressed so much, he just did not take good care of himself. Samouel sighed knew that he would have to learn to fend for himself soon enough, especially if he wanted to live alone one day. The fourth year dusted himself off and once more he was found mumbling to himself, hating the school and how much it really blew. Could he just go back to Beauxbatons or even homeschooling? That would be even better, homeschooling. That is, if his parents were still alive anyway. Then he could be taught in his house, and he would not have to worry about other students picking on him. Sighing, Samouel made sure that he had everything that he had in his arms before he looked up to see that there was a rather pretty girl approaching him. Samouel at first was dazzled by her appearance and then he remembered some of the other mean girls around here. Some were gorgeous, almost like a diva, but then they were meaner than a venomous snake. That was not what he wanted to get entangled into. The wub was really hard to get out of. Girls were not something that he knew about anyway. He only knew about some women. That was it. He sighed and waited for the girl to come forth and trip him or something horrible like that. After all, some women were just mean like that. Even the smallest attention made him worried that they were going to do something bad to him.

Actually, when the girl spoke, she was not insulting or anything. Samouel was surprised, but maybe she was hiding something. Something that she was going to do? The fact that she had come out from behind him, and did not do anything made him less worried. "Maybe not everyone. Just everyone that I had met so far." His tone sounded really tired and aggravated but it was not pointed toward her at all. He was just tired of this school already. He looked down at the floor for a moment, and he continued to hold his things over his shoulder. Was the girl going to be nice still or was she going to be rude as hell? However just as he predicted, she was like the others in a way, commenting on his size. He used his brown eyes to take in her own size. She was quite tall for her age, and then he rolled his eyes, "Fourth year, transfer. Samouel Kyle if you really want to know. Small? I am average for my height. What the hell are you, part-giant? I do not recall reading about giants in Greek Mythology living in the Underworld." A smirk crossed his lips because he was starting to figure out the school by now. Apparently one has to be mean or sarcastic to survive at the school. He was going to have to do that. Even to the girls. Samouel did not feel right about this, but he would have to hope to survive anyway. "Is this how everyone communicates to each other, be complete *******s?" It was a general question. This culture was completely new to him, so he was hoping to get a guide or something. However maybe when he was standing up to the diva girl, that would prove that he does have some sort of back bone at least. She was intimidating, but he was positive that he would get some sort of remark. It would be fun, sometimes.

Maybe this guy wasn't as pathetic as he looked, he did have some bite in him. He had to learn how to be less of a wimp when around the others though, or they would eat him alive. "Not everyone here is all that bad, you do need to learn how to defend yourself. You might get a little bit more respect if you do." Alessine tried offering him that bit of advice. He had a bit of fire in him and it was cute, but he seemed to have a problem with getting it to come out. If he stood up for himself a lot more, he would likely get a lot more respect from the other students in this school. They respected people a lot more easily when they actually fought back. Alessine remembered when she first came to this school. She had never gotten it as bad as some of the kids did because of her blood status, it also may have been because of her family name. But even Alessine was picked on a little bit. It wasn't until she actually started to stand up for herself that she started to get some respect from the older students. Maybe if Alessine adopted this boy into her little group of friends, he would be able to handle himself a lot better when it came to confronting his bullies, or they would just leave him alone in general because they noticed that he now had friends. That was, if the boy accepted them all as friends. If not, he was on his own and Alessine could no longer help him with his problems. There was only so much she could do when the other person actually didn't want her help. Smirking down at him, Alessine was easily giving off the impression that she had an idea.

"No....I'm pretty sure you're just small. I am pretty tall, but I'm far too cute to be a giant. But nice assumption though." Alessine rolled her pale blue eyes softly. He wasn't the first to question her on her height. Alessine wasn't even considered to be that tall within her family, there were female relatives of hers that were not only taller, but at the same time they were also younger. But compared to a lot of other people, Alessine was pretty tall. "If they met my dad they'd understand where I got my height from." Her dad was the giant, he was way over six feet even, while her mother was a little bit taller than average. Based on the both of their heights, Alessine was a shoe-in for being tall. "I think I can help. Hang out with me and my friends, you'll be less likely to get bullied if people see that you have friends, not to mention friends who aren't complete idiots." Alessine turned around and pointed at her group of friends that were lingering a little bit behind her, like a bunch of petty children. They would likely be unhappy that she wanted to bring someone else into their little group, but Alessine didn't care. This guy had some spunk, and she thought that he would fit in well with them. If he denied, then there was nothing she could do to help him. He'd be stupid to say no because this sort of thing would just keep happening to him whenever he came across some of the meaner students.

Some time later, in the following year:
Samouel Kyle loved the fact that he was a fifth year now, and he was not surprised when Alessine Styx became a prefect. He had been accepted into her little group of friends. Samouel was a little nervous at first, but he soon became accepted. Samouel was closer to Alessine over them all. She was the only one in the same year as him, and that meant the same classes in this dreadful school. Caiden Saenger was some character too. Apparently he was part-veela, but he was also one of the biggest jerks in the world. Overall, Caiden was entertaining to be around since he never had nothing to say about anything. Plus, Samouel thought that Caiden had a crush on Alessine or some other girl at the school. Caiden was a fourth year too. Samouel was also pretty close to Elijah Zhefarovich, a cousin of Alessine’s. Elijah was a little on the strange side, but he thought that was because Elijah was into boys. He was a nice guy though. He seemed a little mysterious about everything though. He never spoke about his family. Not that he could blame him. Samouel never talked about his own, and his situation. Samouel had a feeling that his family was still alive, and just did not want him. He had a feeling that he had a brother, but he was not entirely sure. His memories were very hazy. It was hard to think of. At least the weather outside was better than the weather inside. The group was surrounding the huge tree. Samouel looked up as he could see Alessine up in the tree with Caiden, Elijah to his side, and then there was the cutie Alecto trying to climb the tree. Shame she was not getting anywhere. "Maybe you should just give up, Alecto."

Caiden Saenger could not wait until he graduated from this place. Nothing but a bunch of idiots. There was nothing good for him here except for the few friends he had made. He was not even wearing his Durmstrang uniform. Instead he was wearing jeans, a tee shirt and a hoodie that he needed in this weather. The fact that there was now five of them instead of four, it was quite different. Caiden was currently leaning against the tree, with one of his legs on a branch. Luckily this tree had several spots for people to come up and sit. Caiden was an avid tree climber, and his brown eyes looked down as he watched Alecto try to climb up, only to fall down. 'She is such an idiot,' thought Caiden with a roll of his eyes. It was amazing on how she fit into the group. It was like they wanted something to laugh at, and then there was Alecto. Caiden looked back at the leader, Alessine. They both butted heads every now and then, but overall, they got along somehow. For a bit there, Caiden thought that Elijah had a crush on him, but luckily that was not true. Caiden looked at the sky next and closed his eyes. He heard Samouel speak to Alecto, telling her to give up. Now that was not words of encouragement and should be disregarded. He gestured with his hand as he spoke, "Don't tell her that. Eventually she will knock some sense into her head." Caiden looked down at Alecto and tossed her a cocky smirk before snorting and going back to sitting there in silence. No one was really saying anything, so why would he bother to say something? Caiden reached into his pocket and got out a galleon before he started to toss it up into the air and catching it.

Elijah Zhefarovich was entirely amused with Alecto jumping up and down on that tree, trying to climb it to join with his cousin and Caiden, the Part-Veela jerk that had several siblings that went to another school. Elijah would know exactly how that felt since he had several older siblings. His oldest siblings had graduated with titles like prefect, and Kamaria received Head Girl. Leviathan was really lazy so how he got Prefect was amazing for everyone. Athena was a seventh year now, and she was graduating soon. She was a prefect too. Elijah was almost certain that if he had gone to Hogwarts New Zealand, he would have been sorted into Ravenclaw like Kamaria. His fathered did not like Eli at all now. Elijah recently told his dad that he thought that he was gay. His father reacted like he had expected. Eli sighed and he remembered what all his dad said. He was so unaccepting, and basically told him that if Eli did not marry a woman, he would be disowned or even killed. Married with the same sex in his family was not tolerated, as far as everyone knew. Eli was a little bummed about that, but he was fifteen, and he had some time to get to know who he was really, and he would grow up eventually. He turned his eyes to Caiden who had something rude to say to Alecto. "Oh please, leave her alone, will you?" Eli did not offer any help, since it was amusing to see her try on her own. Instead he was getting bored, and Eli hated not having anything to do. Instead, he decided that he was going to try to get them to do something. "Well, seeing as we are all a talkative bunch today, what are we going to do today?"

<COLOR color="#000">Alecto had never been particularly good at climbing tree's. Her short arms and legs didn't help with the situation either. But Alecto refused to give up until she was in the tree with Alessine and Caiden. They were the meanest of their group, but Alecto still adored them as much as she would anyone else. "I can't just give up Sammie....then the tree wins!" Alecto dismissed her friend and began trying to climb up again, her dainty fingers reaching as far as they could go for a branch to hang onto. Alecto could be stubborn, she didn't like to give up on things that she knew she had a shot in obtaining. Alecto finally managed to grab onto a branch, and slowly started to hoist herself up it's long branches. Caiden's comment made her frown. "Why are you always such a downer you bum?" Alecto didn't like his attitude sometimes, but she dealt with it. At least Elijah stood up for her. "Awwh thanks Eli! You're too sweet!" Alecto giggled. He and Sammie were the nicer ones, they were the only ones that ever really had anything nice to say. Alessine did sometimes too, but it really depended on how she was feeling that day. Just as Alecto went to reach up for another branch, she felt the one underneath her begin to crack from all the weight it was bearing. A screech escaped Alecto's lips as the branch beneath her finally broke and the brunette came tumbling down right along with it. "Ow." She squeaked out, her voice laced with obvious pain. Perhaps she should have just stayed out of the tree.

<COLOR color="#000">Alessine was feeling rather lazy today. There wasn't a single thing that needed to be done, so Alessine wasn't going to waste the energy doing something she didn't need to. The blonde opened her closed eyes as she felt another shake of the tree that Alecto was so desperately trying to climb. Alecto could be really dumb sometimes and Alessine wasn't sure how or why. She expected most everyone to have at least some form of common sense. Apparently Alecto was an exception to that rule. "Why don't you be chivalrous and go down there and help her up?" Alessine replied to Caiden, her tone laced with humor. Alessine knew they didn't get along, but if they could work out their issues, they might have been a cute couple. Alessine closed her eyes once more and leaned back, fully intent on relaxing. From down below, Alessine could hear Eli question on what they were going to do today. Alessine re-opened her eyes. Why was it necessary that they always do something. A part of Alessine wanted to come out and tell everyone about what her dad wanted for her, an arranged marriage. But Alessine was scared that they might look at her differently if she wasn't in control of something for once. Alessine opened her mouth to say something to Eli, but the loud scream that came from Alecto caused her to pause and sit up. That fall kind of sounded like it hurt. "Well....we could always take Alecto to the hospital wing. Someone make sure she's not dead." Alessine rolled her eyes and leaned back against the tree. Sometimes her friends could be real idiots. All she wanted to do was relax.

Samouel admired Alecto’s confidence in trying to get up the tree, but he still thought that she should just give up and save herself the trouble. He sighed and he looked at his hands while he watched her from the side of the tree, debating on climbing himself. She stated that she cannot just give up because if she did, the tree would win. He chuckled before rolling his eyes. He looked up and he could see Alessine right now. He wondered about her thoughts before he shrugged and replied to Alecto, "The tree is bound to win regardless, it already achieved immortality. It is not something you will ever accomplish." Sam looked up and hoped that the others would not really pick on her so much. She was cute and all, so she did not deserve it. It was nice that Durmstrang had a few good eggs out of a bunch of rotten ones. Caiden’s comment made him roll his eyes before he wondered what crawled up his ass and died. He thought that there was something wrong with him, but maybe it was just the way that the boy was raised. That might be all that there was. Caiden had to have been treated horribly to turn into a jerk. Though Elijah was being sweet as ever, and wondered if Elijah was really, well, gay. Sometimes he did not seem like it. Sometimes he did. Sam just had to keep wondering though. Sometimes it was hard to believe that Elijah and Alessine were first cousins. Well, first half-cousins. Their dads were half-brothers. Alecto fell once more, and he shook his head. He held out his hand to help her up, if she needed the help, ignoring what Elijah wanted to do. Maybe they should take Alecto to the Hospital wing.

Caiden could not believe this. It was like he was being ganged up on but he was really getting used to it with the people he hung around with. Yet he still thought that he was the best at everything he did, and often rubbed it into others’ faces. Even though in the group. Then there was the loyalty that he was bound by somehow. There was something in the group that made him feel like he belonged despite the fact that two of the members were pure-bloods, and the other two either had no idea or unknown. Caiden was Part-Veela. He forgotten how much Veela was in him, but he thought that there were just too many around here. Alecto claimed that she could not let the tree win and he snorted. Then asked why he is such a downer. He rolled his brown eyes and replied with sarcasm lacing his voice, "I am a downer because you are an idiot." He looked down at Alecto and he gave her a smirk before he shook his head and wondered why Eli was being so sweet. Then Alessine proposed something ridiculous which made him laugh a bit. That was somewhat nice though. It was hard to make him laugh like that. "You are such a jokester, Alessine. Let the fairy boy be the night in shining armor that wants to be a princess." Caiden looked down at Elijah and wondered if he had some half-breed comment to say. It was often how the two of them communicated. Alecto managed to fall and he laughed a bit more, before not moving a muscle to bother with helping her up or to see if she was dead or not.

Elijah was hoping for a quieter day, and was really itching to do something, but apparently the others did not really seem at all that lively. Alecto was going to burn out all of her energy by jumping up and down trying to climb the tree. Eli shook his head and he ran his fingers through his blond hair. He certainly did not have anything to do, but the group bickering was causing him to become somewhat entertained at the very least. Eli shot Caiden a rude look when he called Alecto an idiot. It was getting too obvious that Caiden had a crush on her, but he was so deep in the closet, he was finding Christmas presents. "Sweeter than most of you sour heads." He shrugged his broad shoulders before he wondered what he could do to entertain himself. However something happened to where Eli looked over at Alecto and she had fallen from the tree that she finally managed to climb a bit. Alessine offered that they could take Alecto to the Hospital wing to make sure that she is still alive. "Well, Sam is helping her up, so I think she will be fine." Then Caiden had to open his mouth with the insults, so Eli shot back, "I’m not the one that sparkles. Just try to flap those wings elsewhere, bird." Eli had half of a mind to use the banishing charm to shove him out of the tree, then it would show him who was boss. Eli rolled his silvery eyes before he kept his eyes on Alecto and Sam, to see what they were going to be doing.

<COLOR color="#000">Alecto frowned and shook her head at Caiden's reply towards her. "You're such a bum." If he kept up that attitude, he was going to be lonely for the rest of his life, and that didn't sound like fun at all. Sometimes she wondered what she did to make him hate her so much. Even if she wasn't smart, he could just ignore her and the things she said. Or was that too hard for him? Laying on the ground, Alecto fought to regain her breath that she had lost by slamming her back onto the ground. After this little fall, it was safe to say that Alecto was done climbing tree's for awhile. Alecto grinned softly when Samouel went over to help her up, because she was having a hard time getting up herself. Alecto's tiny hand went out and grasped a hold of Sam's, and allowed him to help her up. "Thanks Sammy! You're too sweet!" Alecto leaned over and gave him a big kiss on his cheek as a thank you, ignoring the snickers that erupted from Alessine when she did so. "Guys, we should play hide and seek...in the dungeons! It'll be all dark and spooky!" Alecto didn't want to go to the hospital wing, she wanted to hang out with her friends and play some games. Especially ones that didn't involve her having to climb one of the stupid tree's. Plus she was sure that the idea of it being dark and spooky would catch the attention of some of them, Alessine normally only liked games if they were a challenge to her.

"Will you all quit bickering for more than five minutes?" Alessine responded to Caiden and Elijah. Alessine hated to listen to it. Especially when Caiden made swipes at her cousin, he was family and that meant she needed to protect him with everything she had in her. But also, Alessine didn't like it when peopled used comments about half-breeds towards Caiden. Alessine didn't mind Part-Giants, Part-Veela's, and all those types of people. Sure they weren't fully human, nor were they natural. But it was kind of cool to be different in that sense. But of course, Alessine would never say that around half of her family. Alessine leaned down and watched as Alecto gave Samouel a big kiss on the cheek for helping her up, and began to laugh. "Would you like us to give you two some alone time?" Alessine teased, but really she was happy for Samouel, because he was starting to find it really well with the group. He was even finding himself a possible crush. Then again, Alessine suspected that Caiden might have a problem with that. Alessine was about to suggest they all be quiet and take a nap, but then Alecto suggested a game in the dungeons. One that easily caught Alessine's attention. Without a single word uttered, the blonde lowered herself from the branches and landed on the ground. A smirk rose upon her lips as she thought about how much fun it might actually be. "For once Alecto, you actually suggested something worth while. But what do you guys think?" Were they going to agree with the game or were they going to think it sounded more like a children's game? Alessine liked the idea of it though, and that was pretty rare for her, so it couldn't have been too bad of a suggestion.

Caiden shot Alecto a dirty look, before he also heard Alessine telling him and Elijah to knock it off. Caiden was about to just swipe the dirty smirk off of Elijah's face, him and his talk. Caiden shrugged his shoulders and doubted that he would do anything more. Caiden watched Sam help Alecto onto her feet and then she gave him a kiss on the cheek. Caiden immediately became infuriated with such affection showed in front of him. Alessine even said that they could give them some alone time, and Caiden muttered, "Like hell we will..." However that was only under his breath, and hoped that no one in the group had hard his little comment. Then Alecto mentioned a game of hide and seek in the dungeons, and Alessine seemed to think that was a cool thing, but Caiden? He was not too sure. What more could they really do? Sighing, he had no other choice but to play to keep his eye on Sam and Alecto. Elijah and Sam seemed to like the idea and Caiden groaned, "Hide and seek? Seriously? Fine." Caiden hopped from the branch that he was sitting on, and followed after the group to go play the game.
