Professor Jacqueline Black stood in her expansive back yard dressed in a very un-Jacqueline like outfit. She was dressed in relatively plain muggle clothing, something that she rarely wore. The slender woman held her wand poised in the air, flourishing it here and there as she put the finishing touches on the decorations. Today was a special day for the Black family. Today was Gabriel's seventh birthday. She could hardly believe that her son was already that old! Where had all of the time gone? It only seemed like yesterday that she had married Raziel after finding out that she was pregnant. The brunette woman smiled. Her life had certainly changed drastically after her move to New Zealand. She had been able to get back into the lives of her three older children. She had met Raziel, and had his son. Then, she had adopted the Loncar children.

There was a large white tent with several tables set up underneath. There were balloons, streamers, and confetti all over the place. Everything was either bright blue or bright green as those were her son's favorite colors. Jacqueline's icy blue eyes inspected her yard, making sure that absolutely everything was perfect. With a satisfied nod, the Transfiguration professor strode back into the house to check and see how Gabe was doing. He was supposed to be changing clothes for the party, but he had been known to disobey her when it came to those type of things. However, she saw him changed and ready and heading to the kitchen. Jacqueline followed him. "Don't get into the food yet, Gabe." the woman said curtly. Raziel was in the kitchen, putting the finishing touches on the burgers and hot dogs. It hadn't been exactly what Jacqueline had in mind for the food, but it had been Gabe's choice.

Jacqueline smiled at her husband. Their marriage had always been somewhat different. Raziel was an Auror, and Jacqueline was a Death Eater. Albeit, she was not exactly as active as she had been before their nuptials. Raziel was a seer and figured out that she was a Death Eater before they married. He had asked her to lay low, and offered her his protection. Jacqueline had accepted. It wasn't much longer after that when he asked her to be his wife. The Professor loved her husband more than she was willing to express. Raziel had melted her heart of ice, making her open up more to her family though that was as far as it extended. Jacqueline went up behind Raziel, wrapping her arms around him. She leaned up to kiss him on the cheek. "Anything I can help you with?" she asked, looking up into his eyes.

When all else came to a halt it was time that soldiered on no matter what stood in its way as it was the one thing that was truly unbiased and unswayed in life. His life was full of sadness and darkness that would have destroyed a weaker man and in fact it would have destroyed him if it was not for his beautiful wife and gorgeous son in his life to give him a reason for moving on which he nearly lost sometime ago. Jac did not know that in a weird kind of way she had saved his soul even though he broke her heart when he disappeared for a year after his son's birth but he had things he had to attend as his family was murdered or so he had thought but it seemed as though only his parents and brothers were caught in the crossfire as his cousin Corvin and Makato made it out unharmed against speculation by the muggle police. However darkness moved over him still as it was only a year or so ago that his adopted son Link was killed which Raziel still beat himself up for but their was nothing more for him to do and Jac had helped him see that. Now his house was once more full as it had always was with three new additions the Loncars who he cared for like his own.

Delicate arms wrapped around his bulked up form as a soft kiss was placed on his strong chin which he leaned into as he wrapped around and pulled his beautiful wife into his powerful arms. He fell in love with her every time she walked in the room and all else seemed unimportant when they were together and he would go against the world if she asked him to with out question."No In fact I was finishing up with the burgers now but as long as Gabe is being good then you can stay here and keep me company for a bit before the guest arrived for the party. It is amazing how the time flies isn't it? I mean I feel like it was just yesterday that you told me it was going to be a boy and now he is turning eight." Raziel said in his gruffy deep voice that he was once told that sounded like a rumbling fire on the verge of devouring the world.

Professor Cyndi Kingsley wasn't feeling her best this morning, but there was no way that she would miss the event of the day. She knew that it wasn't often that Jacqueline was able to get all of her children together and she wasn't going to suggest to Cameron that they stay home. Besides, she didn't want to worry him by telling him that she was feeling less than stellar. Cyndi was eager to have the baby out of her already. She knew that her husband was becoming just as anxious as she was as they drew closer to her due date. They were within the month of her due date and her Healer had warned her that she could go into labor at any time. Moving slowly since she could only manage a waddle anyway, the professor prepared herself to leave for her mother-in-law's home. Cyndi had worked with her mother-in-law for a number of years, but it seemed that this semester she had seen more of her than ever. The woman suspected that her husband might have had something to do with that.

Making sure that her husband had the present for his little brother, the very pregnant woman followed her husband to the home. It wasn't a long trip, which the woman was happy for. She wasn't up to making long trips these days. As they drew closer, the woman sniffed the air. "Yum...barbecue. I hope that's at your mom's house" she smiled to her husband. Her nose had become like that of a bloodhound these days. When she smelled something that she liked, she was thrilled. When she smelled something that she didn't...it wasn't a very pretty sight. Leaning against her husband, the woman continued to follow him towards the house.
