Sergei had been pretty pleased to find out he was Head Boy. He wasn't quite expecting it - after all, he'd been at Beauxbatons for the TriWizard for the past year - but evidently the headmistress liked the way he composed himself and decided to promote him to Head Boy. He had been gloating, he had to admit. Katerina, who'd come over to visit, had probably tired of it very quickly. Katerina had, though, had a pretty dodgy year level. And she'd been a nerd, so that had just made it worse for her. While Sergei didn't have any outstanding characteristics - he was charming, of course, and of reasonable intelligence and magical ability - he was certainly amiable, and got along with everyone fairly well. A pretty good choice.
What Sergei was happier about, of course, was who they chose for Head Girl - none other than his good friend Sera. He had to admit (though he wasn't too keen to say it out loud) he was kind of getting a bit of a crush on her. Which sounded terribly embarassing for the nearly 18 year old to admit, but he couldn't help himself. The more letters he'd sent to her, the more he'd realised he liked her. Reddening at the very thought, Sergei pulled his coat around himself in an effort to look like less of a loser, as he sat on the steps to the school, waiting for Sera to show up. This year was going to be a great one.
