Paisley Hayes-Smith looked up at the roof of her bedroom. Paisley was having trouble coming to terms with the path her life had taken. Not only was she betrothed to be married when they both came of age, but she was never to inherit any of the money or family value from either side of her pureblood heritage. She didn't know where she stood in any of this. To be honest, though she loved her mother and her father, she wished they wouldn't try and dictate every aspect of her life. Sighing, Paisley sat up out of her bed and slid down the side. This bed was much bigger then she was and she didn't know why. She supposed it had something to do with her mother purposely spending all the money that her father gave her as support. Sighing as one of the house elves walked into her room, Paisley rolled her eyes as it pulled open the blinds and proceeded to tell her that it was getting late in the day and she should by up for the morning. Paisley groaned and pulled the covers over her head. She wasn't ready to get up, she didn't care if she was supposed to be having breakfast with her mother, eight o'clock in the morning was no time to be getting up. Honestly, who wanted to get up in the morning anyway, only crazy people surely. However, she soon heard her mothers voice calling up the stairs and she realised that she actually had to get up. Sighing, she threw the covers onto the floor, she knew that the house elf would pick them up. Usually Paisley was quite enthusiastic, but that was impossible for anyone at this stage and this time of the morning, it was ridiculous really. She definitely wasn't get dressed at least. That was to be her act of rebellion.
Making her way down the stairs, Paisley yawned before making her way into the dining room where her mother was already waiting, breakfast in front of her. Surprisingly it was Paisley's favourite food. Breakfast fruits with a tall glass of milk. She figured maybe her mother was trying to get on her good side. Not that Paisley had a good or a bad side, or that she really wanted to listen to her mother this early in the morning, but this was her favourite food, so why not. With a little more spring in her step, Paisley made the rest of the walk to the table and scrambled up onto the chair. She was about to tuck straight into her breakfast, but she remembered she had not yet greeted her mother. "Sorry, Mum. I forgot." She said sheepishly before sliding off of her chair and walking around to hug her mother. She then moved back and sat on her chair. "Can I eat now?" She asked, looking over all the food and thinking about what she might start with. It all looked so delicious. Oh she couldn't wait!
