Vydráel looked out at the landscape from the north tower and sighed. He had learned of things he never even thought of, he felt alone yet surrounded by strangers, he cared for them all but wanted answers more then companionship. "accio letter" he muttered and waited for the letter that changed his opinion of everything. It fluttered from his dorm room into his out stretched hand. The name Vydráel Wyvernblood written in purple ink.

For a change, Estrella's eyes were alight with something other than a cold passiveness or unexplained anger, filled with excitement at the prospect of leaving for the Holidays. It had been a rather uncomfortable term for her, and she was just glad that she would be getting away. She had not done more talking than was necessary, only to get by.

She knew that meeting with her father was risky, and that spending time with a known Death Eater would upset many than she was close to, but she was past caring anymore. She wanted answers, she needed help, and she would do almost anything to get to it. Even if it meant distancing herself even further from everyone else that she had been close to.

The North Tower had always been a place for her to get away and dwell on her own thoughts; she barely thought about Kale anymore. She was past the point of caring, at least, most of the time.

She stopped dead in her tracks as she noticed someone else in the North Tower, a student who must be a first year. Feeling awkward, she inquired with a frosty tone, her expression blank, "Was I interrupting something?" Her prefect's badge gleamed on her Ravenclaw robes as she stared back at the boy.

Vydráel had heard the steps of someone walking up inside the tower, towards him but didn't bother turning his head. He whispered the levitation spell, guiding his letter back into his dorm before turning to see who had caught him alone. He saw a Ravenclaw prefect standing before him. "Nothing i can't ignore. Can i help you or something?" he asked. His voice empty and unemotional

Estrella's eyes narrowed at the boy, her expression becoming quite unsure. Not certain at this point whether she should be irritated or passive, she replied curtly, "No, I do not need help from anybody. I just- Come up here sometimes. It's very scenic."

And it's also a place to come and think, she thought to herself, but she was never going to tell someone that she didn't even know that.

"Fair enough." he said back, turning and looking back out at the view.
"No matter where I go here, the scenery is fantastic." He seemed slightly lost in his thoughts.
"I'm Vydráel."

Estrella nodded to the boy in agreeance, her dark eyes softening just as a bit as she strolled up to the window ledge, gripping it with her fingers as she viewed the horizon. Her expression was quite undescribable; it was both cold, musing, and filled with anger and woe at the same time. She suddenly wished that she could stand here forever; well, if she was alone, anyway.

Turning back to the boy with a swift nod, she replied, "I'm Estrella." She wasn't keen on giving out her last name when the other person had not even given her theirs. "And you're a first year, I take it? What house?"

Vydráel nodded his head as affirmative. "Gryffindor, I haven't seen you around before and i notice most people, are you a bit of a loner too?" he answered and asked at once

Estrella's eyes immediately narrowed at the boy, turning to face him. "A loner? I wouldn't call me that- it isn't for lack of company. I just don't find spending my time with others necessary anymore- Especially since it is wasted."

Her tone was quite cold as she said this, and she turned back to looking out the window, surprised that she had divulged even this to the boy. She carried herself very regally, although her confidence on the inside was wavering and breakable.

".. wasted.." he whispered. "And i suppose im just wasting your time then am i?" he asked with a touch of sarcasm. Noticing his wand was still in hand, he placed it back in the sleeve pocket. Mentally cursing himself for breaking his wrist, for the third time that day.

"Well, I didn't mean it exactly in that way," Estrella replied with a cold chuckle, "But to totally pull back on it would be eating my own words, wouldn't it?" Smirking, she moved over to a window, gazing out it longingly. She wanted this semester to be over very quickly.

"It depends on how you intended for them to be taken." he said back, keeping his tone as neutral as he could but almost laughing rebuke. "So, what do you specialise in?" he asked more sincerely

Estrella raised her eyebrow at the kid. He was definitely quirky, but interesting enough. It wouldn't be too much to stick around and talk to him for a bit, would it?

"What do you mean what do I specialize in?" she snorted, smirking back at him. "If you're talking about classes, Charms is definitely my best subject. And yours?"

"I just meant what were your strengths in the classes we have." he tried to explain, knowing it didn't make much sense even to him. "Defence Against the Dark Arts, apparently. If you look at my report." he replied to her question. His eyes not leaving the view. I wonder if i should take up art. he wondered idly

Estrella shrugged her shoulders, looking back at the boy. "Well, I don't do badly in any of my classes, but I have to say my other favorite would be Defense Against the Dark Arts, and then Arithmancy and Ancient Runes. I don't think I have a special strength in any of those, to tell you the truth. And yourself?"

"I don't know." he whispered in reply. "It's hard to know your strengths in 6 months of learning." he remained quiet for a few moments. Not really knowing what else to say

"True," Estrella replied, looking out the window again. Asking more for to keep up the conversation than to really satisfy a nonexistent interest, she inquired, "Are you liking school here?"

Vydráel grinned at her question. "Like you have no idea." He thought of how long he must have been up at the tower, the sun seemed to be in it's last quarter across the sky. "I suppose i better head off. Exams to finish and such." he said, flicking a lock of hair that had covered his face. "It's going to be a chilly christmas, what with all this unseasonal rain and wind." he told her, as he turned to walk down the steps.
