Something the second year student wanted to do ever since his first night at Hogwarts school was to see the school during midnight when all the students were either off to bed or chilling in their common rooms, so when Asaiah came back from a horrible break he wrote a note to Marisol saying that she was to meet him at the fourth floor corridor without asking questions. He didn't know what he wanted to do or what he would expect from it but that day the Slytherin could hardly wait for the day to end so he could meet his best friend and hopefully have fun. At first he didn't want Marisol to go with him because of what happened the last time they were doing something in the dark, but he figured that as long as they would stay inside the castle nothing much could happen to the two second years. Eventually - around eleven or twelve o'clock - Asaiah was one of the last persons still awake and in the common room, reading a book about goblins, and when it was time for him to meet his friend he closed the book, put it on one of the tables and walked tiptoeing out of the Slytherin common room, slowly making his way to the fourth floor where he would wait for Marisol to arrive.

Despite not knowing what Asaiah had planned for them, the thought of meeting up with her best friend at midnight that night kept Marisol happy all day long. Unfortunately, it seemed the quicker she wanted the day to pass, the slower time seemed to go. It seemed like every Gryffindor wanted to stay up late in the common room, making it almost impossible for Marisol to escape past curfew unnoticed. Finally after she felt like the coast was clear, the twelve year old snuck out of her common room and hurried down to the fourth floor. Since she had waited for the common room to be empty, she was a bit late, past midnight, and she was worried Asaiah would be gone by the time she got there. But thankfully as she rounded a corner she saw her best friend and a smile broke out on her face. "Asaiah!" she whispered excitedly, trying to keep her voice down despite her excitement, and instead channeled her energy in giving him a huge welcome-back-to-school hug. "What're are we doing here on the fourth floor?" she asked him when she finally pulled away from him. She was curious to see what Asaiah had planned but he could've said they were going to watch paint dry and she would've been happy to do it with him. It was just the thrill of just the two of them being out in the castle late at night that made their meet up so exciting.

Asaiah smiled widely at his best friend the as she hugged him, hugging her back. ''I actually wanted to meet up at the Library but then remembered that the Librarian probably lives there.'' He whispered to Mari when she pulled away. ''We never finished our research, remember? I figured we could sneak around the fourth floor some more before going in the Library and eventually into the restricted section, you know, to continue looking for the Scitorari if you are up for it.'' It was difficult trying to keep his voice as low as possible so that no one could hear him talk to her but he thought he did nicely when he said what he wanted to say to Marisol. ''I reckon we need to wait til the Librarian's off to bed.'' He then told her as he looked around the corner towards the Library before he turned his head back to his best friend. Asaiah hoped that Mari would be up for sneaking into the restricted section with him to find out more about the Scitorari because he really didn't wanted to go in there alone at night, and besides with the Professors not around this might be their only chance to get in there and get information about the strange group of people wandering around in the wizarding world.

Marisol grinned when Asaiah revealed his plans for tonight and she quietly said, "Yes!" It wouldn't be smart of them to enter the library just yet because the librarian would know they were out after curfew, so waiting for the librarian to finally retire for the evening seemed like the best option. "Speaking of all this, I finally ran into the poltergeist!" she told the Slytherin, remembering that Asaiah had wanted to meet Vex and they had put it on their adventure list. "Did you hear about the new Scitorari/Ministry stuff last year? I went to go look up more information in the library after I heard about it, and then he just showed up out of nowhere!" she explained. "I didn't get to find out much that time, so it's a good thing we're going tonight!" she added. She had felt bothered by the poltergeist and she didn't want him to reveal to others what she had been looking up so she had left the library not long after. Now in the dead of night she hoped they had better luck finding more information. Marisol looked around the corner and said, "I think the Hufflepuff common room is around here, if we get caught we can just pretend we're in that house and say we're going back to our dorms," she strategized. As they waited she asked, "How was your break by the way?"

Asaiah looked up at Marisol when she mentioned she had seen Vex the poltergeist and said, ''Really? Awesome! How was he? Was he any fun? I bet he was!'' as quietly as was possible for him. Ever since the Headmistress told the students about the presence of the poltergeist the Slytherin boy had been eager to look him up and have fun with him, though unfortunately hadn't been able to do so yet so when Marisol told him that she had seen Vex his face automatically lit up out of excitement. Asaiah nodded his head, ''Yeah, Thomas told me about what was going on. I wanted to find out more about it too but he forbid me to do any research whatsoever. I reckon it was pretty bad stuff.'' When to told the boy that it was then that the poltergeist showed up he said, ''You definitely need to take me to him!'' yet again as quietly as possible. Asaiah followed her movement and looked around the corner as well. ''Luckily I'm not wearing my Slytherin pyjama.'' he said with a soft chuckle, though immediately saw a flaw in her idea. ''But what if we get caught and they escort us back to the Hufflepuff common room?'' Asaiah asked looking hoping that she would have an answer for this problem. ''We don't know the password..'' He looked around the corner again, this time towards the library hoping that the librarian would've gone to bed whilst they were talking. ''Awful,'' he said when Marisol asked him about his break, keeping his answer shorter than he usually would. ''Yours? Did you get my gift?'' Because he didn't exactly know what to buy her he gave her his Moutohora Macaws scarf in the hope that she'd like it.

Marisol chuckled at Asaiah's response and thought back to the memory of Vex, considering her reply. "Hmm, he's fun if you're not trying to get caught," she reasoned, "otherwise he'll make it harder for you to be sneaky because he likes to sing and be loud!" she said with a small giggle. "I'm not sure where I can find him normally, but if I do run into him again I won't let him out of my sight and we'll look for you in the castle," she promised. Maybe they could find Vex in the library again since it seemed like a place perfect for disruption, which seemed to be his preference.

She looked over the corner of the hallway again just to make sure they were still in the clear and then bit her lip in thought when Asaiah pointed out the flaw in her plan. "Shoot you're right. Do you think they'll believe us if we say we forgot it and then they just let us in themselves?" she asked. They could go into the common room and pretend to go up to bed but as soon as whoever caught them left they could sneak back out and go back to their actual dorms. But then a horrifying thought came to Marisol's mind - all the professors already knew who she was because they had to have been informed of her condition. So they all knew she was in Gryffindor. She saw the plans of her and Asaiah trying to sneak into a common room crumble in her mind, but she couldn't tell Asaiah her realization just yet because she hadn't even admitted to him what she was yet. "We just have to make sure not to get caught," she said with determination, both referring to their plan tonight, and their future adventures.

Thankfully the subject was changed to their holidays and she was happy to be distracted from her thoughts. She grinned when he asked if she got his scarf and said, "I sure did! Thank you so much." Because she was new to Quidditch she hadn't heard of any other teams until Asaiah told her all about the Macaws so out of loyalty she was now a fan as well. "Now we can wear ours together!" she said happily, thinking of the same scarf Asaiah had, not thinking he would give her his own one. "Did you get my gift too?" she asked anxiously, wondering if he would like the Omnioculars she had gotten him since they had watched a Quidditch game together and he could use them to see the game better next time. She was mostly anxious because she hoped he didn't already own a pair, and since Asaiah was such a Quidditch fanatic it was not a hard assumption to make.

[hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii i'm trash and i'm sooooo sorry it took me so long to reply! i was meggaaaaa busy! >.<]

If it wasn't for the fact that the two friends weren't allowed to be in the corridors anymore at this time of the night, Asaiah would've jumped out of excitement when Mari told him that the next time she would run into Vex she'd look for him. ''Thank you, thank you, thank you! You're the best!'' he said excited and all and without thinking about it he kissed Marisol on her left cheek before looking around the corner once more to make sure they were safe. Meeting Vex meant a lot to the Slytherin because it was one of the things he really wanted to do in his first year but never had the time to do actually it. When his eyes moved towards the now dark library the boy jerked his head back to Mari, ''He is gone, so if we're going to do this, we have to do it now.'' Asaiah said softly. ''And don't worry about getting caught,'' he continued quickly looking around the corner again to make sure that the lights were really off and it wasn't just an illusion. ''If we get caught I'll tell whoever sees us that I was sleepwalking and that you are probably just escorting me back to my common room.'' And without giving her a chance to say something or thanking her for the awesome Christmas gift, Asaiah started tiptoeing towards the library
