"Oh my," Cecily Zhefarovich murmured under the slowly whirling lights from above. She would not admit to anyone that some memories were still hazy for her concerning her time at the school. Each new event that took place in the Great Hall since her return filled her with as much wonder and excitement as the students. It amazed her how the cavernous room could be transformed each time in perfect harmony, reflecting that evening's event.

Valentine's Day brought to mind the cheesy cut out construction paper hearts and awful little cupids with their trite sashes and saggy diapers. This year's celebration was more...earthy, she smirked, an unfamiliar glint in her green eyes. The blonde surveyed the students entering and tried to see it through their eyes.

Where once there would have been hundreds of lit candles from the enchanted ceiling were flaming balls of light that swirled like galaxies. Insipid cupids had been retired, their replacements prowled the outer rim of the dance floor. Male and female archangels surveyed the crowd with shrewd, hungry eyes, waiting to release their arrows into the unsuspecting. They were tall, muscular creatures with pale skin and flames for hair, eyes dark like the ravens wing. Cecily's lips quirked as more than one girl sighed and clutched a friends arm to titter in whispers. She imagined the boys were no less affected by the female counterparts. The spell that had conjured them would fade at midnight and they would disappear into nothingness.

Red satin strewn with silvered confetti covered the rounded tables that surrounded the shiny dance floor. A bountiful buffet had been provided with food lovingly prepared by the house-elfs, who were currently downstairs cracking open the cases of butterbeer Cecily had gifted them. The Headmistress, resplendent in red, twirled around two first years, sharing a smile as they giggled. Her mini strapless dress conformed to her body like a second skin, created by Prodan's aunt herself, shoes dyed to match with delicate ribbons twining to tie mid-calf. Blonde hair curled and piled on top of her head, eyes lined heavily in kohl.

At the podium, she made her speech to the students, keeping it short. Once done, she stepped back and with two of the tall archangels flanking her, she made her way through the crowd toward one Muggle Studies professor. She knew that this dance would definitely be well worth it.
